My big question is whether the Kettle and Grille used to be something else. It effects nothing but decor, but it's a curiosity thing. Anyway, it's part of a larger plaza so there is a good amount of parking. There seems to be plenty of tables and booths, although a Sunday post-church rush may prove me wrong. The waitress was very friendly and real, no fake cheer or obnoxiousness. I got to try Ube pancakes, which were beautifully purple, had a slight crunch on the top and lovely flavor. I definitely recommend, the Kettle and Grille seems to know exactly what they're doing! You do pay up front where people are also checking in at the same time, which can cause stress. read more

I'm sure the regulars know the menu better than me, so our experience was just ok. We had the reuben sandwich which definitely had more sauerkraut than corned beef. Unfortunately as a result the sandwich was a major miss. Our waitress recommended the Mexican potato skins which was more of an appetizer than a meal because I asked about the skillet breakfast as a comparison. That too was ok and lacked flavor from the chorizo which I hardly tasted. I think it may have been under the broiler a bit too long. Service was good and the waitress did ask if I wanted anything else to replace the potato skins which was nice. Overall not the best dining experience as far as food is concerned. Plus like many restaurants in the area, they have chosen to pass the 3% credit card charges to the customers. To their credit, no pun intended, the prices are very reasonable. 2 years later and this diner (and this dish) is still amazing! I have been stopping by this restaurant usually three times a month. The consistency of this place - from the food, to the speed of service, to the servers - is remarkable. Although it's an unassuming restaurant within Crispin Square, the people I bring here leave happy. The inside has ample tables for both small and large parties, and just like any restaurant, they do get busy during the weekend (especially on Sunday) so just be prepared. They turn over tables quickly thanks to the fast service so your wait will be reasonable. Only feedback I have is I find their side soup and salad prices to be very high (though I can understand the soup price a bit because they keep 4 soups on rotation every day, plus 1 unique soup for the day. I'm assuming the cost subsides the other options.) If you're looking for a solid casual diner-like restaurant, absolutely give these guys a try! read more

Nice place to meet up with a friend we hadn't seen in a long time. Very much appreciated that we arrived at 11 AM on a Sat and because they weren't as busy, they allowed us to stay for quite a while as we caught up (we tipped very generously to make it up to the server, just in case - although we kept checking in every so often to still make sure it was ok). As for the food, meh. I ordered huevos rancheros, which utterly lacked any kind of flavor. I'll leave it at that. The coffee was decent and served in nice insulated mugs. read more

On a recent trip to the area, this place was recommended by a locally based family member. After coming into the Philly airport, we made our way to K&G for a weekday mid-afternoon meal. It wasn't too crowded and we were in a hurry. We both ordered breakfast and in true NJ Diner tradition, breakfast is available anytime! Simple bacon and eggs and a Western omelet, both with home fries and rye toast. Everything was delicious and our server was excellent, ensuring we didn't have to wait for our food or check. A diner I've been many times before for breakfast. Dined here for dinner the first time and will only be coming back for breakfast. My bf and I thought the food and experience was a 3.5/5. We ordered the spaghetti with meatballs, Greek stuffed chicken, French onion soup and chicken matzah ball soup. Winners were the soup. I loved the chicken matzah ball soup and honestly wish there was more! Unfortunately, we weren't a fan of the other two entrees. The spaghetti tasted like a can of sauce and frozen meatballs. The chicken received a two thumbs down from me. I couldn't even finish it nor wanted to take home leftovers. I absolutely love coming here for breakfast and will return for that! read more

Ordered take out tonight and lost a star for two mistakes they've made. OK, so with a dinner, you get soup or salad and we usually get a dinner salad. Tonight, since we had extra lettuce at home, we ordered soup instead. Wish I took a picture but it was like 1/4 cup soup. Like really?!?! Second mistake: Ordered a hot turkey sandwich platter. Asked for gravy on the side and instead of over white bread, double toasted multigrain. The young lady on the phone even read the order back to us correctly. Get home and the platter has gravy all over the platter PLUS the gravy on the side, and the bread is WHITE BREAD that wasn't toasted (which we threw out). Hard to check your orders when bag is stapled shut. We eat in and take out all the time and this was first time one platter was messed up like this. Still, we won't order soup anymore but back to salads. read more

I've been here for brunch a few times, and the food is always fast and fresh. The location is in a strip mall near the old 70/73 circle and has a diner feel. My sister and I both ordered coffee (which arrived in large metal mugs that reminded us of Moscow mules) and a breakfast skillet. The gyro meat in my Mediterranean skillet was tender and perfectly spiced. (My sister tried a piece and agreed.) Everything went together perfectly, and the portions were generous. For $20 each (not including tip), two hungry sisters left the establishment satiated and stuffed. A top favorite local brunch spot! read more

I have been to the Kettle and Grill a few times over the last couple years. I really didn't know the small diner existed until a business associate took me there for lunch. It is tucked back in a strip mall and not a typical location for a diner. The Kettle and Grill is not as large as most diners in New Jersey which ii prefer. Service is excellent and friendly. They have a good size menu as most diners do in NJ. My usual dish is the Rubin as a go to. However I have had the omelettes and some of the Greek specialties also. Situated at the corner of the shopping center, The Kettle & Grille has a welcoming ambiance and friendly staff, with an extensive dinner-style menu that offers something for everyone. Met with my mom & aunt for breakfast around 10 am and the place was probably half full around that time. The coffee came out quickly and had a bold flavor, which I took black. I went with the Farmer's Omelette, a hearty breakfast served with bacon, ham, sausage, onions, and green peppers mixed in the eggs with hash brown sides and rye toast. It was quite satisfying, though the Huevos Rancheros my aunt got also looked pretty delicious so I may aim for that next time. The portions were generous, and the wait staff came by to fill up the coffee and check in with everyone often. Certainly a cute place and looks like a good set of regular customers that come through, my mom and aunt included. This is a great place for breakfast. We had 6 in our party consisting of 3 adults and 3 kids. The server was Pabo and did a great job. Our party arrived several minutes apart, but we were treated as if we were the only ones in the restaurant. Most everyone had scrambled eggs with different sides such as porkroll, home fries, french fries and either a bagel or toast. I had the Captain's sandwich on an English muffin with a side of fruit. Disappointing. Hair was found in our food after two bites in. When server was told she said they would make another but we said another order was not needed because appetite was lost. After this she said the omelet was taken off the bill, "obviously", and I asked if any additional discount could be added, I was told no. When insisting again if an additional discount could be made for the hair found in our food, I was rudely told no again from the server. A manager never came to our table and we ultimately left hungry, dissatisfied, and disappointed as first timers. On top of this, a table next to us who had just moved from where we were sitting asked if they left their phone there. We looked and it was in between the booth and the wall. After us moving several times for the staff to verify that the phone was indeed there, they said that they would retrieve it once we were done eating. Throughout our meal we saw what looked like the manager from both the front and back of house repeatedly speak to this family and eventually said that they would have to come back closer to closing time to retrieve said phone. This was also prime breakfast time and the family left equally as disheveled. Very disappointing. Food was nothing special as well. read more

We were often here back in 2018 when our kitchen was being extensively remodeled. The Kettle and Grille is great diner-style restaurant that's reasonably priced with quality food. We stopped by recently to see how it's fared during the pandemic, and apparently it's doing just fine. Our food was expertly prepared in reasonable time and the staff was exceptionally friendly. My wife ordered the Broiled Salmon dinner platter and her request to substitute Sweet Potato fries for regular fries was cheerfully granted. Caught up in the diner vibe (and very hungry), I ordered the Beef Gyro. Beef seemed like a strange substitution for Lamb Shawarma, but after eating it realized I've had identical slabs of meat at other diners. At any rate, the seasoning was spot on and the plump pita perfectly prepared. My request for crispy fries was honored in spades; they were wonderfully brown and crispy. I also ordered a Black and White milkshake and was very impressed at the richness and creaminess of the ice cream. We'll be going here more! read more

Recently visited for breakfast, as we'd been a few times in years past. I think they have new management or something because there were changes to the menu and vibe. We had a strange experience with our server when I ordered my breakfast, she said 'are you going to share that?' and my husband said 'nooo..' and placed his order. (??) After slamming our plates down she was pretty much gone which is fine. I said to my husband 'is she your ex or something?' because she seemed angry. I had the Ruben skillet breakfast. Wrong meal came out there was a misunderstanding. Hostess kept looking over at our table. We were very uncomfortable as to being rushed. The restaurant was extremely busy overall, but I will not go back food was not good. Chicken breast was extremely dry no dipping sauce was gonna help.
