My account is with WSECU but since I don't live in Olympia any longer, I share bank through OCCU Everyone is always very nice (at both branches). Tellers are usually good but some are very poorly trained. I was told I could make a withdraw from another credit union at this branch. I walked in and requested a withdraw from OBEE. The teller took ~10 minutes and returned with a terse and disrespectful, "You only have $69 in this account". I replied, "I know I only have $69 in this account, that is why I asked to withdraw from OBEE". She said "We cannot do that". I pointed out that I had checked by phone before I came in and was told I could because OCCU and OBEE were on the same network. She disappeared for another 10 minutes and returned to make the transaction. No apology for taking my time or her rudeness. read more

This is quite possibly one of the worst credit unions I have ever had the misfortune to work with. They funded my vehicle loan so I thought switching to them for banking made sense; it was a horrible mistake. They're hard to work with, hard to get hold of, and only have sporadic locations that are not easy to get to. They do not work well with other credit unions and they hold a deposit for up to 14 days before funds are available, even when you're an established member. I will never, ever, deal with them again. As soon as I can refinance my loan with another bank, I will close all accounts. I've already pulled my checking, which they are refusing to close, and will tell everyone to STAY away from them. read more

I was told this CU had online banking available to pay our auto loan. Well, it does but banking only within their institution. You cannot transfer money from your local institution into your savings account with OCCU in order to make a loan payment. No, they want you to use a third party billing route that tacks on another $4.95 per transaction. They'll get checks from me and I will be looking for another path to finance elsewhere. Too small for any real convenience. read more

I've been a member since 2004 and I've never had a complaint. They helped me and my husband with a very embarrassing financial situation with absolutely no judgment, the few they've made a mistake they call me and clear it up right away, they handle our loans very well. Not everyone is 100% cheerful all the time, but that's what humans are like, they provide good customer service. read more

Do not get a lone from these people! They force placed insurance on our vehicle and no matter how many ways I prove to them we have insurance they still have not refunded the premiums. They owe me $365 and I have made 5-6 phone calls, additional chats, spoke with "Allied" who is supposed to manage it and cannot get resolution. I have had it with this outfit! read more

I used to do all of my loans with this institution until I realized I could get better rates and more importantly, service, at any other credit union. The last straw was when they wouldn't refinance my existing loan with them into the new lower rate that was introduced without charging me a fee on a loan that had no prepay penalty. The reason I was given, they'll lose money on me by not collecting the same interest from the existing loan. Their words, not mine. So, I went somewhere else that wasn't trying to compete with Bank of America for the most outrageous fee award. read more

I had to pay my first mortgage payment with a cashiers check and through the mail to my lender which is not OCCU. I sent off the check two weeks before my payment was due and some how my loan company cashed the check and claimed they had never received my payment. The awesome rep at OCCU helped me get the proof that my loan company had cashed the cashiers check. I have always had a positive experience banking with OCCU! read more

This bank had a booth at a local car show, my wife and I were clearly looking over a vehicle and the representative just kind of glanced up at us from his chair. After a few more seconds a few others walk up and he immediately stands up and asks them how there are doing? If they are interested in the banks current rates? Saying he's there for any questions of the vehicle they might have. Then a few others walk up and now I'm just testing my theory and I was correct, I warm greeting and stuff to the next 8 that walk up to vehicle. I seem to wonder if the fact that my wife and I aren't white has a effect on situations like this? Maybe we don't look like we are "potential" buyers? But I will never do business with that has staff of this nature, I was really considering opening a account with them also, but after this guy's behavior towards us, I don't want to find out how our service becomes if we are regular customers...... read more

This is a small town bank that has all the services of a large company but still has the friendly neighbor feel. I have never encountered an employee that didn't do everything possible to make me happy. I have dealt with Bank of America, Chase and other "Big Boys" and their service is sorely lacking compared to this little giant. read more

The staff here is friendly, they greet you with a smile and are always ready to help you. I've never felt pressured and they don't fee you to death. When we relocated to the area, they made the process of switching all our accounts and loans to them so easy and seamless. Avoid this bank at all cost, they have horrible customer service and will rip you off and blame you for not reading their fine print on loans. My car was in the shop for 2 months so I changed my insurance coverage appropriately because the car would not be moving. I still had insurance just not the coverage OCCU wanted. So they decided to add $1000 dollars to my loan, when I called to fix this they said too bad and that I should have called them and let them know my car is in the shop. The condescending POS I talked to, I believe her name was Danielle Lane, she basically told me to get bent and they will not do anything to help me. Lets add this up real quick $1000 dollars to a customer equals a big deal, $1000 dollars to a bank equals chump change to them. All over a misunderstanding, I will now be re-financing my loan with USAA a company that treats Veterans and their family with respect. Good Job Danielle you cost your bank a $25,000 car loan plus all the customers that read this and realize that OCCU is a garbage bank. Do yourself a favor and bank with another credit union or deal with their policies that take your money and have their employees laugh at you when you ask for help. read more
