Just three days before our family court hearing, he maliciously filed a false CPS report claiming my sister abused the children. CPS showed up without a professional sign language interpreter, despite my sister's deafness, and I had to step in to interpret. The children clearly told CPS they felt unsafe with their father and confirmed the abuse. Even though CPS wrote this in their report, in court his attorney twisted the facts, claimed I manipulated the conversation, and had the report thrown out on a technicality. Within five minutes, the judge shockingly awarded full custody to the abuser, who still had pending felony charges. In the following weeks, CPS reopened the case and we watched helplessly as the children were interrogated under their father's influence. It was the most unjust and painful experience of our lives. That's when we hired Christopher Hernandez in Riverside, thinking legal representation would save us. Unfortunately, Christopher failed us at every turn. We paid nearly $15,000 for constant frustration. He rarely answered calls, forcing me to call multiple times a day just to get any response. He juggled too many cases at once and admitted to it. When I reached out for guidance prior to mediation, the severity of my situation was consistently minimized, and I was not adequately prepared for the process. Additionally, there were instances where I felt my co-parent was given informal guidance, which raised concerns about professional boundaries. Much of the paperwork submitted on my behalf appeared to be reworked versions of documents I had already provided, yet I was charged over $6,000 in fees. Communication with the office was often delayed or dismissive, although payment requests were consistently prompt. I also felt that important issues--such as my co-parent's marijuana use and potential flight risk--were downplayed rather than properly addressed. As a result, I am now in a situation where I must share custody under circumstances I do not feel are in my child's best interest. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend these services.

She repeatedly brought up her personal life and custody situation instead of focusing on my case, which I found highly unprofessional. Despite providing police reports, CPS documentation, and photos showing injuries my son sustained while in his mother's care, she still refused to advocate strongly on my behalf. She even discouraged me from pursuing 50/50 custody, telling me to "just go through the process." Her staff was disorganized and unprofessional -- often unable to explain billing charges or provide clear account summaries. I never received a final judgment, case summary, or minute order printouts from her office. I had to constantly follow up just to get partial information. In the end, I had to advocate for myself and my son throughout the entire case. The experience left me feeling financially drained and completely unsupported. I strongly advise others to look elsewhere for competent, respectful legal representation.

My mom had to shout NO from the back of the court room and the judge had to stop the proceedings so that JC could get it right. She said it was too late, but then continued to say she needed to see the papers before she could answer a specific question I had. I said again I could send it to her right now, since I rushed home for this exact purpose. She said we were already at the 45 minute mark and now was the time to say if I wanted to work with them or not. I was very disaapointed with the call and feel really ripped off. She didn't help me in any way besides telling me I didn't have a chance. She charged me $200 and didn't even review my papers. If it wasn't possible, the recepistionist should have told me to reschedule it. I would have rathered that than waste my money on something I got no value from. She was not kind or helpful, can't imagine hiring her to represent me and think about my best interests in court. I had better consults from a free lawyer and even one that just charged $40. She was rude and pushy too. No thanks.
