I was looking for a good matcha drink since Starbucks completely ruined the drink I ordered. I found this place on Yelp. The first day I went it was closed, so I went back the next day. Since it was my first time here I wasn't sure what to order. The girl who took my order was extremely helpful and definitely suggested the right drink. I wanted something really sweet and the white chocolate matcha late did it. Not sure if they have this on their menu (strawberry matcha with sweet foam on top), but if they don't it would've definitely be a great add on. Underneath the Gambling Cowboy & tucked behind the popular Small Barn, is this adorable space w/ friendly coworkers & matcha cheer. Today I savored the Jalapeño Cheddar Biscuit which has just enough spice to accompany with the Matcha Cortado (hope I spelled the drink right). The side container is oat milk which is perfect for some of us non-dairy drinkers, but you can also substitute for organic milk upon request. It's a lovely hidden gem for those coming into Old Town and want something besides the usual coffee suspects. I needed a moment to read before jumping back into real life of chores & other shenanigans. The sign "This must be the place" says it all. So I was pretty excited to try this place based on the reviews, and maybe I just got the wrong thing but was a bit disappointed. I got the classic adaptogenic coffee with added cinnamon and it was in general just flavorless, I don't think there was any monk fruit or cinnamon in there or at least not enough for the size. Also they only use oat milk which is my least favorite milk and have no other options besides whole milk. Service and ambiance however were excellent. They've nailed the ratios perfectly. The matcha itself is of high quality, and it's always whisked properly at this café--no clumps here! Now, onto a couple of critiques: I wish they would experiment with different cream tops, as that's quite trendy right now. Currently, their only fruit options are blueberry and raspberry I believe. The blueberry is a delicious compote, and the raspberry is a syrup (both are fantastic, by the way). However, I'd love to see some strawberry compote options, as strawberry and matcha make such a classic pairing. Just my two cents! Had been waiting to try this place for a while now, came in with some friends right before closing, staff memebers were very welcoming I got my drink,it was so good that one of our friends wanted to get his own, so I stood up and accidentally dropped my drink the staff members were extremely nice!
