When you step into Our Spot, that's exactly how it feels. Like you're walking into your favorite neighborhood bar to watch the Pat's game and enjoy a couple of beers. There's pop culture references papered all over the walls, an old school wooden bar and a small dining room that could double as an intimate event space Our bartender was super nice, he let us know what was available to order since the full kitchen wasn't open when we went. We were there for the wings anyway, as RI Food Fights brought us here. We got the Maple Bacon Bourbon wings, a side of fries and the giant pretzel The wings were good! Not super crispy but the glaze coated them well and clung to the wing nicely. The menu said they were smoked before they were fried, but outside of the generous amount of bacon bits that were part of the glaze, I didn't get much smoke in the meat itself. Otherwise, we liked the glaze. The fries are the more expensive, clear coat kind that hold their crisp longer, which I appreciate. They were great plain or with ketchup. The pretzel was warm and perfectly soft. The beer cheese that came with it was excellent. And the blue cheese dressing was as well that we got with the wings. It had a great blue cheese flavor without giant chunks of cheese. They also offer pizza and a number of handhelds that all looked interesting, so I'll have to come back soon when the full kitchen is open!

We were traveling around Pawtucket and wanted to get some lunch. We arrived around 2pm and it was pretty empty but we were met by a friendly bartender. We ordered the Steak and cheese sandwich, BYOB burger and the Chicken Parm sandwich. Everything was delicious and the service very attentive.

The best thing going for this place was the vibe. I really liked the small space; it gave it an intimate feel. I found it funny when the hostess asked if we wanted to sit in the lounge or the dining room when the two spaces were practically on top of each other. Maybe you couldn't see the entertainment from the bar area/dining room, but you could still hear it! You were just more spread out. But I liked having the option. The entertainment itself, well- it looked like they were having fun and I can appreciate that. The food was alright. I had the grilled cheese chicken pesto sandwich with sweet potato fries. I think if the sandwich had a tomato-or I asked for one- it would've been perfect. My friend liked her fried chicken sandwich. I liked their other side offerings; glazed carrots?? Who's offering that? I love that! My drink was strong, do with that what you will. And the prices were really good, like really good. As for service, the waitresses (and manager I presume) checked on us constantly. Like every two minutes while we were eating. They cleared out plates right away too. But we waited for around an hour and they never came around with the check. Honestly, it didn't bother me. We just went up to a host stand and paid there. Maybe we just missed something, but I didn't mind not feeling rushed at the end as I enjoyed a conversation with my friend. Overall, I think this is a great addition to Newport Avenue! It's very clean inside and there's cool retro music and movie poster decor. Give it a go!

OK, so this place is great, but the lady working the front door is a gem. She needs to be protected with all your resources! She is just so friendly and makes up for anything that you lack in service or food or whatever. That being said, the food was amazing. You can tell the chef really cares about creating the menu with innovative, yet approachable items. We had a PB&J burger that was unexpectedly amazing. The clam chowder was probably the best I've had anywhere. It should be on the regular menu. The wings were also really great! There is so much seating in the dining room, at the large bar, and on the patio. There is an adorable spiral staircase that leads to the rooftop patio. I'm looking forward to coming back.

Ordered a cheese burger nothing fancy But it was amazing. Perfect Perfect Service was on point and very knowledgeable We went on a Monday No one was there so it was quiet. The bar/restaurant very cool Thanks for being a new spot in Pawtucket. Can't wait to come back

Really enjoyed our dinner at Our Spot. We have been quite a bit and everything tastes delicious every time we go, especially the maple dijon salmon with risotto and brussel sprouts, my absolute favorite! The team creates a warm atmosphere. I love the decor too! Conveniently located minutes from home, we will be back.....AGAIN! :-)

The drinks were made well, 7 and 7's. Contender's is in the old Merrill Lounge but, has been renovated inside. We didn't try the food this night. Service was good, no issues with Waitress on her first night on the job. Ambiance seemed a little "off", no decoration inside main room on walls or tables--barren! At least two of the big screen TV's in main space not turned on and a third was showing a re-run of last night's NFL game--until we asked for it to be changed to tonight's Live NFL game! It feels "cafeteria-like" the way the tables are arranged in main area. There was a backhoe parked behind the building so we assume they're still finishing renovations. We may/may not try back in a few months...

We were absolutely blown away by the quality and taste of all of their dishes -- everything was packed with authentic, bold flavors that had us savoring every bite. To top it all off, the service was outstanding. Tyler, the manager, was so welcoming and gave us some incredible recommendations. You can really feel how much the team cares about what they're creating, and that passion shines through in every dish and every interaction. Berta, the owner, is doing something truly special here, and this is definitely a spot you need to check out!

Otherwise it's free, on-street parking in the surrounding neighborhood or main road. The 'pull' door (not automatic) is at ground level and once in the vestibule, there is a ramp up into the restaurant and steps up into the bar area. We sat at a high top in the bar area. Two dining rooms have wooden tables and chairs, mostly in a four-top size. The bar area has a high, vaulted ceiling and the two ceiling fans are a large baseball in a glove. Cute. Walls are real wood paneled on the bottom 2/3 and painted cream at the top 1/3 with dark wood floors. Everything looked nice and clean and cozy. High-tops in the bar area each had bag hooks under the table top which I love. Our waitress was the bartender. The bar was about half full and there were maybe two other tables in the restaurant. She brought over place mats, flatware and menu's and took our drink order. The menu is large and includes sandwiches, burgers, steaks, apps, soups and salads, plus. It's pretty big. We had a good amount of time to review all the menu options, plus the 'specials' menu she left with us. We both chose steak based entrées. A table top sign lists some seasonal adult beverages available and the menu includes other bar selections. Food was brought out by a kitchen employee. I think it may have been the cook/chef. It took a while for the food to come out of the kitchen and I suspect it's bare bones staff during the week. They were very friendly and asked if we needed anything else. The waitress also stopped by after several minutes to check in with us. The steak was tender however those knives need to be replaced. Because it was hard to cut, I thought the steak would be 'tough', but it was very nice. The fries are excellent. I did enjoy those. Mashed potatoes appear to be 'real' (not reconstituted flakes). My steak was a bit undercooked but I only ate about half. I concentrated on cutting the outer bits which left the center a perfect temp for reheating at home. It heated up quite well and was still tender. So in the end, it worked in my favor. Although I'm not sure how they fry the egg on top of the Portuguese steak, it was fluffy and had a nice soft yolk. (I could have sent the steak back to be re-fired if I was unhappy, but knew I'd probably not eat it all, so again, it worked in my favor) Gendered restrooms are off the bar area. Ladies has two small stalls with no gaps at the edges. Thumbs up for that. Men's room has a stall and a urinal (I asked, didn't look). Not sure about another comment on here regarding 'no lock' on the men's room. The stall has a lock. If you need privacy, use that. Each restroom is too small for a changing table. I asked about the parking situation as the lot is not big enough to accommodate all the tables and after talking about on-street parking options was told on the weekends (Friday - Sunday) it's a full house. So do plan some time to find parking. I'm not sure they take reservations though and the vestibule has only one seat that I noticed for waiting. Food quality is good. Service is friendly. Full bar. Big menu. Clean restrooms. Only the parking situation is possibly problematic and that's really a state of mind. Desfrute da sua refeição!

We kicked things off with a Cosmopolitan in honor of our guncles Mike & Bob before diving into an amazing meal. Hubby's must-have is always the Portuguese clams. It is the perfect amount of clams, chorizo & beans in a deliciously spicy sauce. I can never resist the chicken tenders tossed in Mozambique sauce. We also shared the sausage, rabe & beans pasta, which was hearty & comforting. The portions here are incredibly generous - we left with enough food for two people to enjoy two full meals! Even better, appetizers are now half-priced from 3-6 pm, making happy hour an even sweeter deal. And if you visit on a Wednesday or Thursday, be sure to say hello to the wonderful Celeste. She is lovely & always makes us feel welcome. Fantastic food, generous portions & warm hospitality... it is no wonder we keep coming back! Highly recommend. NOM NOM NOM #YUM

We were the only customers when we dined there for lunch at noon on a Wednesday. I guess it's more of a dinner place. Both my dining companion & I ordered Chicken Francaise ($22.95) on pasta, which was good but not exceptional. The serving was generous enough to bring home leftovers. It would have been nice to have been offered a bread basket, but that seems to be going the way of the dinosaur in restaurants. Our server was fine. The restaurant, while basic, was clean. The entire menu is available during opening hours. I thought the prices were a bit high for a tavern. Perhaps smaller lunch portions of the entrees for a reduced fare? I did consider the Portuguese steak sandwich, but at $18.95 thought it too expensive. I have friends who absolutely LOVE this restaurant, but I was underwhelmed. I'd consider giving it another chance during the dinner service.
