It was date night with my husband, but more importantly, without the kids! The PT had great reviews, and the pics of their food looked amazing. I added it to the list. We stopped in on a Saturday night around 5:30pm. Amy was bartending bartender. She gives off a tough exterior, but we bonded over Pawtucket and other random things. She was engaging and very nice. Even said she hopes to see us again (I don't think a bartender has ever said that to me before). We just came from having some good food at another establishment, so as much as I wanted those wings, we stuck with beer cheese and nachos. The beer cheese was tasty and thick. The bar has a dark vibe but clean and not divey. The other people at this establishment were all too quick to engage us in conversation over how good the wings were. I definitely will be back to try those wings and see Amy.

This was a last second visit with a buddy of mine to catch up. Reading the menu I just really wanted to try that chopped cheese and holy crap. I'm glad I did. Chopped cheese isn't a super common menu item around here but this thing was packed with flavor, cheesey in every bite and what set this apart for me was the fact that the ratio of bread to meat and cheese was perfect. The bread itself was also crisp, with a crunchy and super thin crust, a crust almost like a Pan De Cristal bread if you've ever had it. This was also very fairly priced and the portion was really generous. I knocked off a star because of the fact it was served with cape.cod.chips instead of fries or another option. I despise potato chips, but it's even worse when I don't know they're coming (okay. It's not that serious, but it's just the point. Super weak side.) Service was pretty slow. There weren't a ton of people in here but we waited at least 30 mins for food and most folks were ordering drinks and not eating. Overall, great sandwich, and if I remember correctly, past the main dive-bar feel in there, there is actually an outdoor patio in the back of the place and that's a pretty cool gem of a spot to hang out with some friends.

This spot is a total vibe. Lil hole in the wall bar but the drinks, food and service were top notch. The bartender, Ahmad really came through with fun service and good energy. He made me the drink called The Last Night which was really good and just strong enough without it being too much. Will definitely go back.

Derrick made some fabulous cocktails all the around, but my favorite was the In Good Spirits. He was attentive and fun! The environment feels like a dive bar--cozy with reasonable prices--but cocktails feel like an upscale bar. This is a MUST go when you're out and about.

1st Timers - Lunch at The Point Tavern. They have a little patio in the back. They have a dining area but you have to go to the bar to order drinks and food so we just sat at the bar. We were also there in the afternoon so maybe at night they have a server. The 2 bartenders were friendly. They were out of the pork skewers which we were bummed because photos looked so good! I got the Tavern Burger which was sooo good! Husband had chop cheese sandwich and he said it was good as well.

Great neighborhood spot in Providence! I've been several times and the drinks, atmosphere, service and burgers are 'top shelf'. A relaxing vibe with space to hang at the bar, table or booth with friends or move to the outside in back, this place is great for dropping in or an event with friends. Staff is super attentive and the cocktails and beer selection were excellent. Definitely worth a visit in Providence.

We popped in for a burger and for my husband to enjoy a beer after hearing how great they are here. I ordered a grilled cheese which was served with a tomato jam which was super yummy. All in all I was impressed our dinner. Pros: Fun tavern atmosphere and above average bar food. Cons: Parking can be challenging at times and it is a more limited menu. They don't have fries and you just get a bag of chips with your burger. If I want to go in and meet someone for a drink this would be a great tavern to do it.

Audrey and Jared are amazing. This place has great food and vibes. The happy hour pricing is solid, will definitely be coming back.

Let me Preface this with, I am not from RI but know that RI has some really good food, for my personal preference, this was not one of them. So when arriving, you have to find street parking, for a Saturday night approx 800pm in the city it was a breeze. When you walk in, its seat yourself and someone will greet you eventually. Our server came around after approx 5mins. I wasn't too impressed with the drink menu, not sure if it was b/c of seasonal cocktails being featured, but when in doubt.. go with tequila. ;) when we got our drinks they were pretty tasty but seemed to be alcohol lacking, nonetheless we scoured the menu to find some food. We decided on the creole crab cakes, wings, and cornbread. The latter was the star of the show, it came with a honey butter and tomato jam on the side. The tomato jam was ok but the honey butter over the cornbread was divine. It was soft with crispy edges and moist. The wings, we could have done without. We ordered the buffalo lemon pepper and they came out with a dry rub and lemon pepper sauce in a condiment cup on the side. -_- they were tender but definitely lacking in flavor. A huge disappointment as the pictures and reviews really bigged them up. Lastly, the creole crab cakes. They had a nice texture but idk where the crab was. I definitely got some bites of the chopped shrimp and sausage but the flaky crab I was looking for seemed to be missing. Our second round of drinks (not pictured) were a margarita and tequila lemon drop. Both were bleh, lacking in taste/flavor. Overall I probs wouldn't return unfortunately but the music was jumping, the good tunes were the saving grace of the evening.

The Point is always "on point"...beer, cocktails, food...fuhgettaboutit! They got all the sports you wanna watch too.

Derrick is the BEST bartender and always makes you feel appreciated as a customer. Get the pumpkin beer and lemon pepper wings!

I had a good day so I took myself out to dinner at the Point. Great local beers on tap and truly amazing looking cocktails (for some reason a lot of people were getting dirty martinis- not my drink but they looked legit). The food menu is limited but comes correct. They just switched it up. Friends, you NEED to get a Burger Pocket. It looks like a flying saucer. Inside is a tender, juicy burger grilled to perfection and embraced by gooey American cheese. It comes with dipping sauce and pickles on the side. I never realized how annoying burger topping slippage was until the Burger Pocket solved a problem I didn't know I had. The house made chips & onion dip are also delicious, although I needed at least twice as much dip. The vibes are cozy. The clientele is local & diverse. Solid option on Wickenden / College Hill. read more

Food - the food options are very slim to none, the options for food are limited I order the lemon pepper buffalo wings they were 6/10 it's dry rub and the wings could've been cooked a little longer My sister ordered the sweet smoke wings 1/10 we don't enjoy them at all. I attempted to order a side salad they didn't have it available although on the menu For drinks I got the lemon drop martini it was good very well made. Cozy vibes. Came here on a first date. Tried the "Porch Gossip " - house gin, black tea, and peach syrup. Super good! We also tried Sweet Smoke and Buffalo Lemon Pepper wings. The Sweet Smoke had great flavor, the other not so much. Wings were also a good size too. Their menu options are small, but you can tell that they really emphasize flavor in each meal. Service was fast and friendly. I wouldn't come here by for a full dinner - but for a quick bite or catch up with friends it is perfect. read more

We popped in on a holiday weekend and it was dead. They also weren't serving food on this particular day so we decided to stay for a drink and head out. The service was awesome, they not only made amazing drinks, but gave some phenomenal recommendations and were great conversation. The inside is very much a pub/college feel, but they have a wonderful little patio out back to enjoy. It was the perfect stop for a great espresso martini. read more

Met Ahmed / he was very pleasant and welcoming as soon as we walked in introduced himself and acknowledged us as soon as we walked in, as far as the food and drinks burger was amazing I would order 5 at a time and wings were SPICY! The honey habanero if you like a hot kicka 100% good choice - bruins hockey game was on also a plus ++... would recommend coming back! read more

The food is amazing. The bartender, Lauren, was so funny and attentive. Great personality, will definitely be back just to see Lauren. She gives you the feeling that you are the only person in the bar without neglecting her other patrons. Highly recommend!!! read more

I went in a few weeks back for a nice spicy margarita and blackened chicken wings!! Mmmmhhm delicious. Lauren with the long blonde hair was my bartender. Service was great she was very informative on the spicy tequila made in house with scotch bonnet peppers. spicy drink and a spicy bartender! read more

The staff at the Point is incredible. Immediately friendly and attentive. As soon as you walk in they let you know you can sit anywhere and come right over. They have a fully stacked bar and can make any cocktail. The food is here is delicious and they have a great menu. They always have a good playlist going. The bar is super clean. Definitely stop in on your next trip. read more

I was lucky to have tried North when it was open so when I saw the former chefs were preparing the meal for Chef Night, I knew I had to sign up and was so glad I did. The meal was stupendous! The first course was shrimp and corn fritters. The fritters were filled with shrimp and corn and you can visually see the shrimp and corn. It wasn't overly doughy and the sauce was delicious! Chef Andrew described the dish and he told us that the shrimp was locally sourced from Dune Brothers. The second course was noodles with tomato and pepper dashi and grilled fish. The noodles were fresh, but it started to get a little clumpy. The dashi was really flavorful. The third course was miso tres leches cake with sakura whipped cream. This course I was the most excited about and it totally blew my expectations. Chef Andrew told us that they hand picked sakura petals and made their own whipped cream. The tres leches cake was moist, dense, and airy. The dessert was definitely the star of the show. Bravo to chefs Andrew McQuesten and Stephen Sternkopf for a wonderful locally sourced meal. Jean-Marc and the other bartender were also very friendly and accommodating. They checked on all the customers throughout the night and made yummy drinks. I had the Toasted Venture. This is one of the signature cocktails and has Toasted Pumpkin Seed-Infused Misguided Spirits Red Sky Silver Rum/Cynar/St. George Spiced Pear Liqueur/Rosemary Elixir/Mole Bitters. It was very good. The description on the menu didn't match the drink at all. I wanted to like it here, and I've heard great things. I think it would have been better if they were cut into smaller pieces that can be easily dipped and consumed in one bite. The plantain was gently ripe, so just a little sweet and the dipping sauce was like a less sour sour cream. Lastly, the lamp chops came out and the presentation was wonderful. Maybe I just don't get it, but why take over a failing business (Abes) and make essentially no changes? Like another reviewer I was there when the new owner was there and he too appeared disappointed that the other patrons weren't sloppy drunks in their 50's. And whereas the outdoor is certainly an improvement, I felt like I was sitting in someone else's backyard considering their are apartments that share the space. The whole idea of the bar just seems half baked and opportunistic with no real feel for what the neighborhood needs or wants.
