This was not quite what I expected. They have a very tiny display. A small amount of space, and the rest is their baking area and freezer. I was told they have good gluten free options here, but they only have a few flavors of cupcakes. This place is great is you have all sorts of allergies. Gluten and Diary, Diary and nut? Any combination, they seem to have available. BUT... they are all kept in the freezer. I assume they would not be fresh otherwise, they probably don't get a large amount of business coming in and out regularly. They do not seem very friendly. I'm not sure if it was the owner, or not, but she did seem bothered to have to deal with us. Gluten Free cupcake should be avoided if you high standards. Regular cupcakes should be avoided as well, you can find better cupcakes at the grocery store. Frosting tastes synthetic. I would recommend this place for someone with allergies. I know they often struggle to find places to accommodate them. read more

Love love love the personalized owners' touch to this very hidden local bakery shop! Their homemade fresh zucchini breads were a huge hit with my clients and their very beautifully decorated individual generous cupcakes size are out of this world! I am now their regular monthly customer when I'm back in Tucson. Good thing that I don't live very close because I would be going to enjoy their sweets every week! read more

Never been to a more unfriendly place. I felt like I was putting them out to buy something. Ask if they had any zucchini bread and it was frozen. I received 8 cupcakes as a gift from my sister in law. These are the best cupcakes I've had. Period. I tried the peanut butter cup one and I think I just found my favorite food of all time (I've never liked chocolate cake, and really not a big fan of cake period... before this). Great place! They went way above and beyond for me to get a beautiful cake at the last minute for my sister's big event. She took the time to listen & help me figure out exactly what I wanted, then even opened early by a couple of hours the next morning so I could get it on time. And what a gorgeous delicious cake! Take out | Other | $20-30 I have brought from this place several times through the years!!! I established a tradition with my kids, when they were little. I found this place, and for all but 2 times the cookies were delicious, cooked to perfection. But unfortunately once last year at this time, and again yesterday. The cookie was not cooked all the way through. Raw cookie dough........it is always on my daughter Alexis birthday too. The ones I got in November where amazing last year. Any way the lady was very nasty on the phone, rude........and would not give me a refund or a credit!!! Unbelievable!!!???? Seriously this is bad business!!! And was very rude......she told me they cook the cookie the same way all the time. I said no you dont we have gotten many from you, absolutely delicious!!! She said take your business elsewhere!!! I was blown away. Have brought dozens of cupcakes here as well. Always delicious!! So beware.........NOTHING SWEET ABOUT THIS CAKERY as far as service I'd give her a zero!!! This is a bakery that doesn't understand the difference between fresh and frozen. They think it's the same. Also, half of anything you order is gross frosting. They don't even know how to make good frosting. It's just that cheap stuff where they mix powdered sugar together with shortening or butter. read more

We purchased 30 wonderful cupcakes for my wife's 75th surprise birthday party. They were delicious and a big hit for our guests. We live in Saddlebrook just north of the Oro Valley, so the drive to the location of Our Sweet Lil Cakery was just over an hour each way. The drive was well worth it and quality superb. They were a big hit. I brought with me a cooler with ice to preserve the cupcakes during the return drive and it worked well and maintained the excellent appearance and taste of the cupcakes. We came in looking for 3 dozen cupcakes in 2 weeks. We sampled the lemon, red velvet, and peanut butter. One of the owners helped us personally and ran through their whole menu. They were nice enough to let us taste them in the store even though they're not really set up for dine-in. We got the special treatment despite being first time customers with a small order. We really liked all of the ones we tried and bought a German chocolate one for later. The peanut butter frosting was amazing, would definitely buy that if it wasn't for our small wedding. The cream cheese frosting on the red velvet was out of this world. The lemon cake was dense and rich. Since we were ordering in advance, they slowed us to mix and match frosting with cake flavors and offered to color the butter cream frosting for us. They were happy to customize for our needs. The price per large cupcake was very reasonable. They have a cold case with drinks. Super friendly owners, great product, and fair prices, if it were just easier to find, it would be perfect. Yelp/Google directions sent us around the back side of the block where there was very little parking. Worth the trip in any case. read more

Who doesn't love cupcakes?!?! Just the right balance of density, sugar and all over goodness. We had been going going going all day and those cupcakes were very much needed (it really wasn't a "want" at that moment, but a necessity LOL). The ladies in the shop were delightful. I always run in and out of that area and today I just stopped when I saw someone coming out of the door with what seemed to be pastries...let the dessert frenzy begin! Try them for yourself. The place is tiny. Clean and orderly. Mixed reviews on the baked goods. Some were very yummy and fairly lite, others umm how do you say, to solid. Owners were present. Counter was polite and invested. Chef was busy and not inter-active much and seemed to take offense when I asked about diabetic options. Was told they'd tried and it didn't sell. Ok understand that. The cupcakes here are stunningly made! Best baker I've found in Tucson, the woman I spoke with who made the cupcakes was so sweet, and very friendly! She took very good care of my order and my partner whose birthday I purchased these for was so impressed and grateful to get these. Not to mention they taste amazing!!! I was flying into Tucson for my sister's graduation, and I called a week before to order a cake. The woman who answered gladly took my order and I told her we wanted the U of A "A" on the cake. They had it ready to go even after we were an hour late to pick it up. It is now my favorite chocolate cake--very moist, slightly dense and not spongy. Just how I like my cakes!! If you have a sweet tooth craving this little gem of a bakery is the ticket. The two lovely cake artists that run this business are amazing. My favorites are birthday cake, peanut butter cup and red velvet cupcakes. Pictured are the chocolate overload, carrot cake, German chocolate and of course peanut butter cupcakes we picked up today. We live in NJ and contacted this bakery that we found on line. We wanted to send birthday cupcakes to my mother in law for her 80th birthday. I dealt directly with Brenda, who is one of the owners, and she was so nice, and treated us as if we ordered 100 cupcakes. we only ordered 12. She personally delivered the cakes to our mom on her birthday, and included a written note. where we're from, we don't get that type of service where we live. We love this brand and service and will be using this company again. BTW, mom says they are the best cupcakes she's ever had, and she's been eating cupcakes for 80 years. I've been here before to get cupcakes for the family. The cupcakes are amazing. My family enjoys the carrot cake, red velvet, and birthday cake flavors. Today was the first time I ordered a birthday cake and I was not disappointed. I got a round, 8 inch, carrot cake and it was perfect. Besides being delicious it looked beautiful too. My daughter took a cupcake class this summer at the bakery and she had such a great time. The owners helped the kids make their own cupcakes to take home. The latte was a bit bitter and it was not from the matcha; after separating the ingredients, it was the bitter red beans that caused the overwhelming bitterness. I would get a matcha latte without it next time. The Matcha Crepe Cake was delicious, but one slice costs $7.50. Very pricey, but satisfying with the sweet cream and matcha flavor.
