The ride started smoothly. But after an hour around 40 passengers were asked to wait on the corner of the highway just because 2 person missed his bus because they couldn't find the bus stop. And now they booked the Uber for him and we are being asked to wait. No bus has ever waited for anyone this was worst. I took this bus round trip NYC-Ithaca, and both times there were people not wearing masks and on the way back there was a person coughing a LOT and the driver did nothing. I was extremely happy when I found a company that had newer buses. I travel a lot by bus for business and due to being in a long distance relationship. Was a huge fan of this company until one of the drivers did not stop in Union City. He went straight to NYC which causes others in the bus to say the bus never stopped in Union City. When I asked the driver about it, he lied and said he did stop. But it only showed one person was getting off when in fact this lazy driver didn't even check my ticket! In turn me being in NYC, I had to catch an Uber from NYC back to NJ which costed me extra money that I didn't budget for. When I called their customer service which isn't even US based they kept promising they needed 24 hours to escalate this issue. Guess what? It's been 2 months and 9days since and I've received nothing! If you have to take this company expect NOTHING! I'd rather take greyhound or Bolt knowing I have a bigger company that will at least handle customer concerns without sweeping them under the rug. This company is the epitome of why people prefer to stick with the bigger brands because they know how to handle customer concerns. I took the bus from NYC to Ithaca, NY. The gate instructions for port authority was straight forward. Check in was quick. WiFi and charging ports worked. We left on time and got to our destination 15 mins early. Bus was clean. Driver was friendly. I did not use the bathroom, so I cannot speak for it. Pretty much I would let OurBus know that it is basically a tin can on wheels and, um, the ride experience that they gave me was not...something that I would particularly want to try again for myself. It was an old, no-Wi-Fi type of bus, and they said that those buses were going to be clean and professional and so if that's the case, they should have taken those buses back to the warehouse and they should never even thought of them because those buses were UNQUALIFIED to ride around anyone if that's the case and, um, I think that Ourbus is just a disgrace. They're a disgrace to transportation and they're a disgrace to vehicles who are actually clean and in working condition and, um, they just don't have the resources they think those buses possess. Not meeting the standard for safe practices during Covid-19. Purchased a ticket for my daughter to return home during the pandemic. She's taken OurBus in 2019 and it was fine. However, the August 1, 2020 bus departing Madison Ave. to Ithaca, NY at 3 pm had 5 passengers that were not wearing masks during the trip. Those passengers got off the bus in Binghamton, but they were on the bus for 3 of the 4 hours duration of the trip. There was no announcement made by the driver of the company's policy, the "please wear a mask sign" had fallen on the floor and ironically a passenger not wearing a mask walked right over it. New Yorkers, be smart, help keep other New Yorkers safe. OurBus: not acceptable. read more

Update: OurBus reached out via DM to gather more information and have informed me that they've upgraded service for this route based on customer feedback. I've added a star because I feel like they've definitely listened and have been very responsive. I'll try the route again and if everything is as promised, I'll revise my review accordingly! Experience totally depends on the bus service who is operating that OurBus route. I've done the Indianapolis/Zionsville to Chicago several times. Gold Coast is great. But M&M will substitute a VAN with no bathrooms, no wifi, no outlets without any notice if they don't think there will be "enough people" for the advertised bus. If they do that, you better hope people don't bring the allowed amount of luggage because there is no way to store it all. Don't expect to be able to cross your legs. At 5'7" my knees were pressed into the back of the person in front of me, so if you're even close to 6' it will be an incredibly uncomfortable ride for both you and the person in front of you. And to add to it, the driver will stop the van to take a smoke break and then get back on and make the whole claustrophobic van stink of cigarettes. Emails to customer service about the practice of taking full payment and then substitution of a lesser alternative with no notice to customers went unanswered. Despite good trips with the Gold Coast busses, which are clean and with lovely drivers, I can't recommend. read more

My first experience with Ourbus was very pleasant; however my most recent exchange has soured me on the company. A few weeks ago, I booked a trip from Bmore to NYC. The day before, we decided that we wanted to leave from Towson instead of White Marsh. I thought this would be a quick, easy change. I reached out to live chat and he informed me I had to cancel my tickets and rebook. I thought this was strange just to get off/on a different stop but I went along with it. I asked two times of there was a cost and he assured me it wasn't. When I went to rebook, the tickets were going to be $50 more than what I paid two weeks ago. At no time did the agent inform me that the tickets would be higher or may change. And as I said, I asked two times of there would be a charge. In my opinion, that would have been his opportunity to say, " no charge to change, but the ticket price may be different". Instead he just kept asking "can I confirm your cancellation". Almost as if he were trying to hurry and get me to cancel. Then when I called him out of it, he said "well tickets prices fluctuate." Anytime a customer service agent starts a sentence with "well" it gives me a great view into their lack of professionalism. I will NEVER give them my money again. And I'll make sure to share my reviews on every site I can. Addition: Added an additional star, because Tanya from customer service was very helpful once I finally got through! Our daughter took the bus from NYC to Syracuse University and we were very pleased. The snowstorm had started but we were told that the bus was still on track to leave. The bus took off on time, the driver checked in each name and the bus looked very comfortable. When I called customer service number a couple of hours later (when my daughter fell asleep and didn't answer texts), the rep sent me a link to follow the bus all the way to Syracuse on my phone - plus waited on the line to make sure I activated the link. That route goes directly to the campus (vs a regional bus station), which is great. We will use this service again for sure. read more

My experience with OurBus was very good. I actually lost my makeup pouch on the bus when we abruptly stopped because of large traffic. I arrived at my destination and realized that that it was missing! This pouch was very important to me and is worth a substantial amount so needless to say I was very alarmed. I contacted the customer service line that night and was able to be in contact with Sahil who was very helpful. He assured me that the company would find it and return it to me and that's exactly what happened. After a few days I received an email after I called and followed up that said that my pouch was found! I later retrieved it that day from a town near me. read more

This is a terrible bus company with terrible customer service. My son arrived at the pick up location at the exact time of departure and the bus driver saw him and simply drove away. This is not a commuter bus. I can understand they are under time pressure but this is ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE for a bus traveling to NY. The driver saw the passenger and left anyway. Where do I begin with this one.. bus driver shows up an hour late. About an hr into the trip they get a flat tire.. 2 hrs later it was fixed and 30 minutes into the ride again another tire completely comes off in the middle of the highway. Today I almost had a heart attack after I was late for my bus to NY for 1 minute. I saw it is leaving. I was waving with my hands but the bus didn't stop. I was mad on driver who didn't wait at least a couple minutes delayed passengers with tickets , I was also mad on myself and I was sad that I have to spend more money and time to get my goal accomplished. I tried to catch that bus on Uber but heavy traffic on Rockville Pike wasn't on my side. It was White Flint, 1 pm bus. But after that two good things happened: Fortunately, I was able to buy tickets from Union Station on 2.30 pm Ourbus and a lady from OurBus Customer Service with a wonderful name Ekta was sympathized to my situation and credited all my tickets price to my OurBus wallet which I can use for buying my future tickets with them during next 5 years. Thanks Ekta. Lastly, I am writing this during my trip. It means I am on the bus right now. The bus is comfortable, clean ,free water, restroom, WiFi. I like it and for sure will use it again. I really wish I could give more stars. However, I've been so incredibly disappointed with their lack of protocol for their lost and found process. Something as simple as a central place to retrieve lost items is not possible? Really, in this day and age, and not even someone who can confirm if such item had been turned in? I was off the bus yesterday and still no one can give me a response to my items, 24hrs later. I've emailed them plenty and when I have received a response it has been to say "I have to wait." I have expressed the urgency to retrieve the items and still nothing. At this point, I remain hopeful that there are honest people and that the driver collected my items and they are somewhere just waiting for me to pick it up. Let me start off by saying riding with these bus companies is usually a hit or a miss. This was my first time riding with OurBus from DC to NYC (round trip) after switching from Greyhound and MegaBus (who has left my friends behind after arriving mere seconds before the bus pulled off, and leaving us stranded in Maryland for 2 hours while they switched drivers). The five stars is for providing the bare minimum for a bus company (going to and from without problems, charger outlet, ride updates etc.) and some, while keeping costs low (our round trip tickets were $28, while other companies were $40 and more). My friend was late for our 11:20am Union Station departure, thanks to DC metro (). Seeing previous reviews, we were worried the refund process would be a huge hassle so we pleaded with the driver to wait 5 minutes before he was finally ready to depart. Some of you may side eye his decision, but when you miss a bus because of something that is out of your control (you can't exactly prevent long metro delays WHILE already on the train), you would understand how grateful we were to the gentleman. My friend ran through Union Station and caught the bus, while we profusely apologized to the driver for the delay. We left at 11:30am and arrived in NYC 20 minutes before schedule (not sure how the driver did it but 10s across the board for silencing any naysayers). I will travel with OurBus again until they give me a reason not to. Wish I got the drivers name, but I'm also not sure if he went against the company's policy. Either way, study your trip information and arrive early. Anything can happen when you're traveling. read more

Found a deal for this company on Certifikid and loved the Columbia departure location, so I figured I would give it a go and I was mostly satisfied. The bus to New York was 45 minutes late and the stop in New Brunswick adds a lot of time, but the return trip was so good that it made up for that. I like the Port Authority departure because it allows for a more orderly boarding process and it beats the MegaBus mess on the West Side. The return trip left exactly on time, was organized and orderly and arrived in perfect time - that's the kind of bus travel that i like. I was talking to someone while waiting for the late bus who uses this company very frequently and she told me that the late bus was an aberration. I would use this company again. read more

Purchased a $49.99 OurBus Select Membership a couple of months back, and logged back in today to find the Membership price skyrocket to $149.99. I was generally happy with the cheap plans and prices Our Bus offered before (so much so that I used my membership on 10 rides in a matter of a month getting from my workplace in D.C back home), but this is $100 price increase for members is absolutely ridiculous. THE worst bus experience I've ever had, and I choose public transportation for most of my regional trips with many different companies. This bus is absolutely filthy!! I booked another bus company for my return trip before the Our Bus even left the park and ride. The driver looked like he rolled out of bed with no proper uniform or identification of employment. Unfortunately it didn't help matters when my husband and I boarded the bus at a stop during the second leg of the trip and no one was willing to let us sit together, everyone was rude and blatantly said they weren't moving their seat. The driver began to pull away before we even found a seat to sit down in. The seats are very small even for an average sized person so I rode 2 hours with my one thigh off the seat. I need a drink. Oh, the best thing about this bus is that they offer a full refund policy up to 30 mins before your trip. I'm sure I'm not the only one that needs it. However, the bus driver didn't allow me to get on the bus and said I have to depart at 6:10am. I replied to him, " but Im already here!" He pointed at bus floor and said to me, "but you are not HERE!" Seriously???? He refuses to let me get on the bus even I already stood in front of the bus ON TIME!!! I missed my bus for a trip and was told I would be given $30 towards my next trip. However, I couldn't find the coupon code in my email so I spoke with Mehak Gulati who assisted me and provided me with the $30 credit. I rode an OurBus to NYC from Columbia, MD and back. Both buses were clean, and the drivers were nice. We arrived about 30 minutes late both times, but that is to be expected with traffic. OurBus rescheduling policy is to ask a customer to buy another ticket and then ask for a refund on original ticket. This is RIDICULOUS. Especially since they have a strict NO REFUND policy. Sounds like a trap to me. Will NOT be booking again with this company and will write negative reviews where ever I can. People have a right to know when a company is not truthful about the rescheduling policy. And even IF they do process the refund, it will take 3-5 business days to process. UNACCEPTABLE. read more
