Where to begin?!? Well originally my boyfriend and I wanted to eat at Olive Garden. Clearly the Thursday after Christmas all families and couples are done with their leftovers and entire world is out getting food. After not wanted to wait for the 30-35 minutes we decided to go to Outback. Got to Outback and there was a wait but luckily there was space at the bar. We sat and ordered a blooming onion as an appetizer. You could tell from the hustle and bustle around that it had been a rough night. If I had listened to my intuition we probably would have left wayyyyy sooner. Things were going wrong and apologies were being made left and right. Back to my blooming onion.. well we got it and it was warm in addition to the fact that the batter was still raw on the inside of the blooming onion. So we sent it back and ordered another one. I'd like to not that we got to Outback around 7:00pm. It is now 7:53pm and we are still waiting in our entrees. The bartender while nice and definitely gifted with gab was clearly overwhelmed with the amount of customers. Hopefully we will get our food before midnight. Do keep us in your prayers. read more

Ive never had an issue with outback... Last night I went and my experience was ok. I had a great drink the Ruby Mango Lemonade. I loved it. If your not a fan of grapefruit I wouldn't recommend it but it was delicious I was sad when it was gone. Had an order of their kookaburra wings and they were delicious. Im mad we didn't get a second order of them. Not a fan of blue cheese so we subbed it out for each and it was amazing. I ordered the 10 oz ribeye medium rare and it was cooked a little more than I would have liked but otherwise it was still pretty good. Call me old school (30 years ago) but the runner system in restaurant service does not work. It is an excuse for failing to deliver the properly prepared meals to the customer(s). As in my last visit to this Outback chain, my wife usually orders her meal with a change to the standard menu item. Usually, hold the onions or no seasoning on the food. The exception was during this last visit when she ordered the Pineapple Pork Medallions with no changes and the runner brings her a Ribeye steak. Turned out the server that took our order punched in the wrong item but let's be real. Upon pulling a ribeye out of the kitchen window the original server could have caught the error. I am not kidding when I say that every time my wife orders a meal from anywhere it comes out incorrect. After this happened when she ordered a meal with no changes, she cried. This problem has been experienced time and time again with no improvement in many establishments that use runners. I have completely lost faith in the food service industry and management's ability to give darn about the consumer's experience, especially in this town and restaurants that use runners. To put this in context we have visited over 90 restaurants in the last six months in Florida, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Michigan. Food runners are a wide scale problem that needs to be discontinued. read more

Went there with the wife on a casual date for the first time. Waitress was polite, considerate and the manager, I think checked up on everyone when he did his rounds. They had good checks and balances along with perfectly cooked steaks. Their loaded fries was massive and really good. 100% recommend if they do this all the time. read more

I like going to this place it's got great food it could be a little bit cleaner and they could upgrade the tables and stuff like that the prices are pretty good the food's good they helps friendly but I think it's time for an upgrade a change everything's pretty out of style they have the same chairs and tables for Wicked long time other than that they serve great food like I said great staff I just wish that it was a tiny bit more upgrade for the price that you pay for the meal that would make it a better dining experience but I love their filet mignon read more

We have eaten here a few times over the years but tonight my food was very disappointing. I supposedly got the 6 oz Victoria filet cooked medium rare. What arrived was a very flat (maybe one inch thick) piece of tough steak cooked somewhere between medium and well done. It definitely was not anything close to filet mignon and it was $21 with two sides. This price didn't even include a salad. Also the bread when it first arrived was so dry we had to request a re-order. The decor of this location has been updated, as have many of the Outbacks, but unfortunately the quality has gone way down hill. read more

I have been to this Outback several times, but it is never willingly. First, it is highly overpriced. Two people cannot eat there and have a couple drinks without spending over $60. Second, the service is very mediocre. The waitstaff is neither overly friendly or accommodating. It feels like they only want to take your order, serve you your food, and then be done with the table completely. Third, the portions are rather large but mostly tasteless. They had a new menu when I was there last week and I order the spicy shrimp pasta and was highly disappointed to discover that it wasn't the least bit spicy. Finally, the atmosphere is miserable. I have never been there and seen a lot of people, so the restaurant can be eerily quiet and kind of depressing. They do play music, but it definitely isn't music that I want to be eating to. Raise the Aussie bar wontcha... I've been to my share of Outbacks across this great land and yet to be completely satisfied with my meal or service. This one was no different...it was one of the few options on Easter Sunday in a Military town but STILL, not impressed. I've heard rumors from ex and current employees that they have a "Yes-man" policy, where no request is truly impossible. I think it's a myth. Besides, my last request wasn't INCREDIBLY difficult, especially from a steakhouse. I just wanted brown gravy for my fries. REALLY!?! Was that toooo much to ask?! The overall food wasn't anything special, nothing below or above this chain. They DON'T serve Sweet Tea. Haven't they heard of catering to their client base?! It took 10 minutes to get our drink order taken and that was by management who walked by and asked if our server had taken it, and when I got my steak that I had asked for medium well, it moo'ed at me. I love the food at Outback Steakhouse, but unfortunately, their service isn't as good as their food. I've come to this Outback about 4 times since moving to Jacksonville and each time, it's the same thing...mediocre service. Their steaks, sides, appetizers and drinks are all fabulous. Even their new Lobster Mac & Cheese. Their house margaritas are awesome and cheap too. However, we've had a totally clueless young guy in the bar area that didn't know what he was doing, waiters in the dining room that bring salads out 2 seconds before the entrees - which is also the kitchen staff's fault, and waiters that don't come back to the table to check on you to see if everything is ok. And on more than one occasion, my husband's "rare" steak has been brought out "medium". A big problem when you're sitting with an incorrectly cooked steak because your waiter takes forever to come back. The managers that walk around seem eager to make things right, which is why I keep coming back. If Outback was more consistent in quality and service, I would be glad to give them a higher rating. read more

G'day yelp owzagoing mate? As a chain restaurant steakhouse, I've had some really good meals with these guys but last night I left feeling like a dingo ate my baby. I got the brisket sandwich with fries and every bite of my meal was laden with salt. My friend got a medium rare steak that was well below rare and it took them about 10 minutes in the fairly empty restaurant to cook it up a few notches. I do think restaurant franchises should be regarded with a much tighter set of standards since the meals they serve are meant to be easily replicated and prepared all over the place and enjoyed to at least an average degree. On the plus side, the beers were cold and the front staff was friendly though there must have been some behind the scenes issue. read more

I haven't been to an Outback since the last time we lived here (2008)...and this was a pretty good experience overall. The service was decent, but our food (a chicken dish and a shrimp ceasar salad) seemed to take a really long time to come out considering we were there at 4:45 so it wasn't busy at all. The food was tasty, but typical chain food--nothing to blow your socks off (but who really expects that at Outback anyway?). Overall, an A-OK three stars. read more

Traveling to Australia a few times, Ive noticed Outback Steakhouses everywhere! The ol ball and chain and I met up with a friend at this location and had a wonderful server. There was a trucker sitting to my left who was in need of company and our server took his break and sat with the man for his dinner. I thought that was wonderful, and speaks very highly of the staff hired. I always eat more than I should here, because its good, hearty food. However, avoid the blooming onions, they might be one of the most unhealthy foods you will every ingest. Still good, tragically! read more

Our waiter was Kyle M. Let me just start off by saying that once upon a time I worked in the food industry so I understand how crazy it gets during dinner rush and how easy it is to get behind. But not for Kyle M. He is a modern day food ninja. Yes that sounds dramatic but that's the best way to describe how fast he was. He knew exactly what we needed before we needed it. We had our 4 year old daughter with us and she says the craziest things and asks the craziest questions and Kyle entertained her and kept her laughing and not one time seemed irritated with her silliness. We saw Kyle zipping around all dinner rush and everytime we saw him he was delightful. Thanks for raising the bar Kyle M! Kyle also left a ninja turtle fun fact on our recipt and our son loved it! I came here for a small dinner before I went to the movies. The inside vibe seems like a typical Steakhouse: moderately loud, family friendly, etc. I ordered the 6 oz Victoria steak with veggies at medium rare and they brought my order of my steak at well done. Of course mentioning this to my waiter, they did take it back with no questions and got me my steak at what I asked for. So the service is great in terms of that and also family friendly staff. I would say that the food quality here though is alright, not the greatest. When it comes to serving meat they can deliver, but anything else the quality can be a hit or miss. read more

We stopped here during the Silkies Hike and later decided to grab dinner here since the smell coming from the restaurant was amazing. This was my first time at an Outback ever. To start: the floor was covered in something slippery. My friend and I were sliding and you could tell someone tried cleaning the floor since you could see the marks of the mop thanks to what it looked like cold grease but it could've been wax that wasn't done right. We ordered a blooming onion and fries, my friend's onion was perfectly cooked, mine was over cooked. The whole thing was burnt, but I didn't figure that out until later since my onion was covered in cheesy fries. The fries were super salty. I should've sent the meal back but I'd rather pay for my check and leave. To top the evening, something must have been off with the meal because we got sick. The waiter was nice and the ribs were good. To be honest, the drink was alright, my meal wasn't good, don't think I'll be coming back. read more

Background..... I have been coming to outback for about 2 years now. I call it my family's restaurant because when I walk in I feel like I am at home being welcomed in by the people you call staff but I call family! There have been MANY weeks that I have come in 3-4 times. I have worked in the industry before and to this day I still work in the customer service industry part time. I always make sure that I take care of the bar staff (not one of those people who say I will take care of you and then only tip 20%). One of the bartenders once said I have made her car payment a few times. Tonight as I was drinking my Friday eve beer, your host alex wants to look at me while at the bar then whisper to one of the waitresses and say don't look. She then turns around looking directly at me. And they continue to whisper. How dare someone who is an employee talk about one of the most loyal, generous customers that you guys have. It doesn't matter what he said. It's impolite, unprofessional and straight out rude to be talking about customers especially when they are right there! read more

Had food delivered through Ubereats and on a positive note - it was delivered quickly in just over 30 minutes and yet.... the food was cold! Which is a red flag that the food wasn't prepared fresh, the only thing that was hot was the sweet potato which was stringy and tasteless. The ribeye steak was not a ribeye...it was round steak, less than a quarter inch thick and no marbling and it was absolutely terrible, so super salty I could not even eat it. Even the Ceasar salad was salty. How is a salad salty? I won't ever eat at Outback again. Expensive and NASTY! read more
