This is my second year to celebrate my birthday here at LongHorn. I appreciate that they offered me a free dessert with the purchase of a dinner. Since I had a wonderful experience last time I treated myself to another wonderful dinner. I was welcomed at the door with a friendly smile and seated in Malikai's section. What a sweet young man. Very attentive and really wanted to make sure I was happy. I ordered a beer ($3.49), great price. I ordered the sirloin & shrimp and picked a salad and baked potato as my sides. The salad came in a cold bowl and was fresh and crisp. The shrimp was seasoned very well and the baked potato had a salty outside and was served "all the way". So good. The meat was a little dry but that was probably my fault. I ordered a 6 oz and probably should have ordered it MR. The seasoning is was good but because it was a smaller cut, cooking it at medium dried it out a little. For my free dessert I got the chocolate cake with ice cream again. Now, this is way to much food for one person, so I ate the shrimp, all the salad and the ice cream. I brought home the steak, the potato and cake. Lunch for the next day. Yeah! Longhorn was warm and inviting. The restaurant was busy at 3 in the afternoon on a Saturday. I was welcomed by the manager who was so easy to talk to and who ended up making this an even better birthday by paying for my meal. Thank you Tonya. The Longhorn Steakhouse was within walking distance of the Courtyard in Jacksonville, NC, so I ended up dining there. They have a call-ahead feature that I used online as I was leaving to walk over, so I didn't have much of a wait. It was a busy place, so I think I would have had at least an hour wait otherwise. They gave me a pretty big booth, too and didn't make me wait for a smaller table. It was a nice and clean environment. The decor is western with skulls, artwork and leather. There were plenty of staff members, and they worked together to keep things running smoothly. My waiter was friendly and attentive. I got the filet mignon with a baked potato and a strawberry salad. I had iced tea here, and they even gave me one to take with me. The filet and the potato were so filling that I saved the salad for breakfast the next day. It was still very good. I did have some there at first. Then bread was provided too. Even though I am not fond of chains, Longhorn Steakhouse is one of the better ones. read more

I've eaten at three different locations in two different states. Usually crowded so service may be slow and the lady's restrooms usually need attention. I love the food. Once in North Carolina, my husband ordered a Porterhouse steak and it was the size of a T-bone. They insisted it was a Porterhouse. read more

It is not the best steak I've ever had, but it is still very good, they also have good ribs, side dishes, salmon, and desserts. Personally, I think they have the best dry-rub wings of any place I've had them. It's not fair to compare Longhorn to the fancy and very expensive steakhouses you find in Chicago, LA, or NY. I've eaten at many $150-200 dollar-a-plate steak houses, and many are very good, but it's simply not the same. Longhorn offers a more traditional Texan-style steak that is not pretentious, and the presentation is casual, as is everyone eating there. Some fancy steakhouses or chop houses require a suit or sportcoat, often served by crusty old men who know their steaks and have been serving for decades. This is not Longhorn, either. Longhorn has gone up in price, thinned out the menu, and reduced the sizes of the portions much like everyone else. Against that standard and price point, they offer a good product, friendly staff, and comfortable setting we appreciate. read more

The food was AMAZING. Lordie the steak was melt in your mouth. I had a booth with my daughter and it was very private and secluded. Honestly the only thing i can slightly complain on is the service. It could have been a rough night or too busy to check up but in the hour and some change i was there I only seen my waitress stop in 3 times. Drink was bone dry for a bit, i was wanting extra condiments and by the time she came around everything was cold. Makes for a weird interactions with guests when you're not eating waiting forever. This would have been a solid 5 without service issues but debated 3 because of it. It was probably not an every interaction type of night so try it for yourself, food was delicioso! read more

Ordered the spicy chicken bites- they were slightly burnt so as an attempt to disguise the burnt oil taste we dumped the included sauce all over them. Husband said the fries were hard like they had been sitting out all day so he didn't eat them. Ordered a side of broccoli with each of our meals. Went to eat it and it was rubbery with brownish gray at the bottom of the stem, like it was old and not fresh. I wish I could give negative stars but that's not an option. We had an absolute horrible experience here. My wife and I wanted to celebrate our birthdays and we called ahead of time to get a table for only eight people. They do not do reservations and said they are never busy on Thursday nights. Once we arrived, it took us an an hour to be seated and then another 45 minutes before we got our food. Once our food came, they brought the wrong steak for my wife and overcooked my mom and dad's steaks. While we waited for replacement steaks, one of the waitresses dropped a glass behind me, and it broke and splattered liquid all in my sock and shoe. They then brought her out the correct steak, but it was raw. We told the kitchen manager and he said the color of the steak doesn't matter. It's about the temperature... The steak was almost purple on the inside. By that point we were done, denied any more food. They offered to bring a cheesecake for the problems and then they never ended up bringing it. The staff was completely illiterate and the Management had no idea what they were doing. The front manager stood at the front the whole time and didn't help at all. Came for lunch. It was a bad day and I was crying most of the lunch. I felt terrible for my amazing server who I'm sure didn't know how to handle the situation but kept her service at 100!! If you love savory food you'll love it here. They have a great selection of food along with of course, steak. The restaurant is decorated with a southern vibe with warm lighting. I decided to come here for the first time after seeing all the rave about their Parmesan crusted steaks. I'd recommend it only if you like very savory/salty food, for me personally, it was too much and I had to scrape it off my steak. I've tried better steak but I think I just had a faulty one as my husband raved about his. My sweet potato side was splendid and the best SP I've ever had! The brown sugar made it divine. I came here on a Wednesday evening with a group of colleagues. I haven't been to a Longhorn in at least 10 years, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The atmosphere is casual; our server was excellent and my meal was pretty good. I had a 6 oz. Filet with asparagus and a salad. I enjoyed the rather large portion of lemony asparagus . My filet was cooked to medium as requested. I was impressed with management; a member of our party had to wait about 10 minutes beyond when our food was delivered due to an "accident" in the kitchen and her food was comped, which was unexpected but a nice gesture. Well..what did I expect for a steakhouse chain (other than Ruth's Chris) ? When you only pay $22.00 for a steak and shrimp, you can't expect much. I ordered pick up and it came with a small steak and grilled shrimp The steak was cooked rare like asked and they put a whole ramekin of drawn butter to put on the steak. Any steak that needs that much butter isn't great quality The grilled shrimp was soggy and really greasy It came with French fries which were average, and a salad. It was supposed to have rice, too but it didn't come in the bag. The salad was disappointing because it didn't have any onions or croutons. The best part of this whole meal was the ranch dressing It was delicious. The bread that it came with was also good. Service was horrible! coming from out of town to attend a graduation party of 15. We waiting over an hour just for the bread and utensils. When the bread came they did not bring the knife. When I asked for the knife the waitress told me she can only do one thing at a time. After 2 hours half the party food came out. The other half of the party was watching them eat. The other half of the party received their food 45 mins later and the food was cold. I will never visit that establishment again! read more

My family of 9 (6 adults & 3 kids ) went in after church last Sunday. I got there before my other family members and went in to reserve our table because I knew it might have taken a long time due to the fact that it was a lot of us. I told the lady everything, how many kids and adults. We went inside and waited for almost 30 minutes watching other family close to our size get seated. Come to find out the lady never wrote our information down. Finally got sat , the waitress doesn't come out for 10 mins to even give us drinks or say hello. One of my family members orders a special drink and that takes FOREVER to the point where he said nevermind. Food comes out , and my brothers food is completely cold, we ask to take the food back and get another one and the waitress doesn't take it back and doesn't even bring out another burger for him and eventually just says nevermind. We didn't get condiments for our meals and had to wait an eternity for those. The waitress also carelessly spills ranch on my wife's lap and doesn't apologize. I could go on and on about this experience. My wife and I went there on our first date together 3 years ago but we will never go back again. Horrible experience. read more

No. If you're a big party i recommend going to Texas roadhouse if you would like to be with the people in your party. I went to the Longhorn for lunch today. They bought out bread and my soft drink while I waited for my main course. I went to the rest room for 4 minutes and when I came back nothing was at my table. The busboy apparently cleaned off the table within the 4 minutes. Maybe allow more then 4 minutes for a paying customer to use the rest room before clearing their table. read more

We first called to make a reservation. We were told that they don't accept reservations, but if we came immediately they would be able to seat our group of nine immediately. We arrived within 5 minutes. At that time the hostess informed us that she couldn't seat our group together because our server just arrived to work and 9 would be to many people for her to accommodate. They seated 5 in our group at a large round table. Then sat four of us in a different section, in a booth for four persons. We noticed a booth for 6 people across the walkway, about 3 feet from us which was unoccupied. Our server was friendly and kind. We let her know of our situation and she said of course the rest of our family can sit in the booth next to us. We then asked the rest of our family to join us at the table for six. By then they had already ordered their dinner and decided to stay put. Shortly thereafter the hostess seated six people at the booth next to where I was seated and was served by our same server! I found that situation to be quite disheartening. We were visiting Jacksonville, NC from California on a family vacation. The food was good but not quite as good as other Steakhouses I've been to. Not only was the food average, the seating left me with a bad taste for LongHorn Steakhouse. The ambiance was traditional western. Our server was very accommodating and helpful. I'm posting three stars because our server was excellent. I must add that I don't give negative reviews but this place left me with a bad taste in my mouth. This is not the first time I came to longhorn. It's good for a reason. the atmosphere matches the restaurant perfectly, the remarkable displays are actually very interesting and sets you in the Wild West. Our waitress that helped us tonight was very polite and very informative of how the food is cooked, prepared and seasoned. The drinks we ordered was spectacular and refreshing. When we ordered our appetizer, it was the best spinach dip I think I've had yet, the pita bread was crispy and soaked up that dip for a nice bite. The main meal I would say was a mixed review. My wife and I got the same meal with different sides (Ribeye steak with Mac and cheese and Ribeye with Rice, shrimp, asparagus and Brussels sprouts) and my sister got chicken with mash and Mac and cheese. The steak was great and overflowing with flavor, as well as the mac and cheese, the chicken was juicy and light. The sides were sort of bland and some were seasoned too much. The porterhouse is the way to go, best $30 meal you can find in town. Within 5mins of ordering we had our salads which tasted fresh and crisp and then entrees followed 10mins later at a good timing. Staying the hotel next door and decided to walk over for dinner. My boyfriend is on a keto diet so a steakhouse is a great option for us. Our server Ashley was very conscious of the diet restrictions and put her own personal friendly touch on our dining experience with her love of Mac and Cheese. Our waitress Shayla was amazing! She was very professional and polite. We couldn't have asked for a better waitress! Starting off we were immediately greeted with a warm welcome and our menus letting us know the specials. Afterwards we placed our order for food which came hot and plated beautifully! I can say the chef in the back cares out how his /her food is presented instead of being slapped on the plate (messy). My son got the chicken sandwich which he raved about being really good and not dry along with fries. I myself got the fried green tomatoes and a salad . Now my goodness those fried green tomatoes was simply delicious! I've have tasted many versions and this one currently has won my heart! The atmosphere is very pleasant and very appealing to the eye. If you are thinking of a little romantic place I personally think this is rather quaint being as it's soft lighting inside rather than the well lit restaurants . I took my husband to this location 15 Mar to celebrate his birthday. As we entered, there was a family of 4 standing at the hostess stand for roughly 3 mins. we waited. I thought they were waiting for hostess feedback, etc, but they just walked away so we approached. the hostess, looked up and said "two"? I replied yes, but was taken back at her rude approach. zero greeting! she seats us. waitress arrives 5 mins later takes our entire order. we order two bar drinks. received our salads within 7 mins of ordering, but drinks didn't arrive until after 10 mins. When our steak dinners arrive, we discover my husbands which was ordered med rare was well done. we patiently wait for our server. Five minutes pass. we eventually have to request our server from another server. she asked if she could help. after she saw and agreed the steak was over cooked, she said she would get our server. we further wait. our server finally comes. offers to fire another steak. my husband declined since he knows I'll be done with my meal by the time he receives his. Not impressed. servers should be following up within the first couple mins to ensure folks food has no issues, is cooked properly, etc. she failed to do this. We don't return. read more
