My Family, & I visited on Tuesday Night. We usually go to Eat Out on Fridays, though we had been out all day, & I didn't feel like Cooking. We had Our 2 Grandkids (7, & 9) in the group, who can be shy most of the time. Because of all the Appointments we had today, I completely forgot that Texas Roadhouse had a Costumed Character. We didn't see them when we were inside the entrance, or when we got seated, though after we got our drinks, I looked up from the menu, after one of the grandkids had said Hello. I thought the server had returned to the table, looked over, & there was the Costumed Character. The best part was when both my Grandkids had gave him Hi fives, & moved along to the music while him, & the Texas Roadhouse Dancers/Servers were Dancing. Thank u. read more

What a disappointment. From our server who never once refilled my drink but did my husband's, to the almost raw cactus blossom, the fresh vegetables that were so fresh they were hard, cold and left behind with not one piece being eaten, to my ribs being colder than my steak fries to our server not even dropping off ribs wipes when we were ready to go. She was so MIA I had to ask my husband had he seen her when 20 minutes passed without a sighting of her. She never dropped off our check so I finally just paid using the tablet. She only got a 20% tip because I was tired of waiting & didn't feel like calculating less. I told her we were celebrating our 39th anniversary & that barely got a congratulations. We won't be back. When we spend $70 with half of the meal not being worth $30 bucks, that's a sign they're not worthy of a return visit. Phyla should consider staying home when she's not in the mood to work. Servers are great! Prime rib is awesome. Tons of rolls fresh drinks. The salad is great. The only complaint is the fillet mignon is always smaller then it ought to be and is sometimes overcooked and chewy. It should be cooked better. read more

I've come here many times and it's been great but today was not it. I'm not sure the server name but she seemed like she didn't wanna serve us or just be there. I don't expect a server to always be perky and exclaims every sentence but at least act like you wanna to take care of us. Me and my wife ordered 2 filet 6oz Medium Rare with a cup of chili and a salad. She got her chili very fast but my salad took about 15 mins after and when it was brought out the server just didn't really care. Lousy sorry and didn't seemed to care about it. The food came while I was eating the salad and I was just annoyed that I couldn't finish my salad before the food even came out. The filets were both undercooked to rare but luckily we both still eat it like that but that isn't what we ordered. I was genuinely so annoyed at the point there was no reason to say anything as we ended up leaving and left frustrated. After shopping we decided to try out Texas Roadhouse. We eat at the one in California all the time. Well, this one is just as busy as Cali. Even thought they were busy we were seated right away. Well, almost. The table had to be cleaned but it gave me time to wash my hands after all the shopping. I ordered a Jamaican Cowboy Margarita. It was very good! Daughter loved her half and half ice tea. We tried the Fried pickle app. It was okay but not my favorite. We didn't have but a few. Daughter had an 8 oz steak, salad and broccoli and enjoyed her meal. I had my regular chicken fried chicken with a garden salad and mash potato with white gravy. Excellent! For $14.49 I have enough food for lunch tomorrow. Service by Melissa was very good. The only thing we started to complain about was that the dishes are not taken away even though we set them at the end of the table. But a few minutes later a bus boy came by and took them. Hubby and I stopped in our at home from a short vacay and decided to have a good ol' steak/beefy meal. I ordered the 6 oz filet with a salad and baked potato and hubby ordered beef tips with Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. My whole meal was terrific!!! My husband was not happy with his beef tips. They were tough and not cooked to the medium he requested. They were closer to rare. Our waiters, Lindsay, was amazing!! She took care of us the whole time and even took care of the beef tips. She was friendly, funny, and quick!! The ambiance in the place is country, fun, loud and relaxed! Th wait staff has been trained well!! We've eaten in a lot of places and th folks here were polite, courteous, and were sure to step out of the way of customers. So many restaurants these days have wait staff who act as though they don't see customers or couldn't be bothered to check in with us. This place this evening was awesome!!! I had an excellent experience at Texas Roadhouse! The food was great, the atmosphere was fun, and the service made the night even better. Our server, Zachary, was amazing. He kept checking up on us throughout the meal to make sure we had everything we needed, and he was super friendly the entire time. Zachary also had a great sense of humor and made our table laugh, which made the whole experience more enjoyable. You can tell he really cares about doing his job well and making sure customers have a good time. He was attentive without being overbearing and made us feel really welcome. Servers like Zachary are the reason people want to come back. He's fantastic at what he does, and he definitely deserves a raise! We'll definitely be returning. read more

I have to say I generally don't go for the mid-tier chain restaurants all that much. The usual suspects are all going bankrupt and I'd like to think it's that people are coming to their senses finally. But I have to say that this Texas Roadhouse did not disappoint. The place was already slammed at 5 pm. Tables were clearing from people who had eaten there even earlier, and the place remained packed the whole time we were there. The host staff did an admirable job handling all of the people and groups, and we didn't have to wait too long to get seated, even as a party of six. The place is definitely like many a local BBQ joint in Texas, not unlike a cross between an Applebee's and something like Hard Eight in terms of the atmosphere. Sturdy wooden booths and beams and each table comes with a complimentary tin bucket and a sealed bag of roasted peanuts in-shell. The staff did very well at handling our orders, assuring prompt attention to any needs, and got everything right. Given the number of diners, again, it was a great job. So where I thought the biggest letdown would come, was the food. I expected a chewy shoe leather steak, but was pleasantly surprised. The food portions were good. The onion blossom appetizer was better executed than any I had at Outback. And I ordered the Ft. Worth Ribeye, medium-rare, baked potato. It was actually a pretty amazingly tender and properly cooked steak. For that quality I could have expected a different steakhouse to charge at least $10 more. Will definitely look at this one differently next time I'm in an area with nothin but chain restaurants. read more

The service was amazing, the server herself did an amazing job at making sure we were all taken care of and kept us updated on where our food was. The food on the other hand was not up to par at all. A friend of mine ordered chili and when she got it was ice cold. My wife and I ordered rare steaks and my wife was given a raw steak that looked like it was put on the grill for 2 seconds. My steak was raw as well slightly more cooked as well but still raw. The kitchen said our steaks were in fact rare, but I've come here multiple times and when I ordered a rare steak they gave me a COOKED RARE steak. But tonight they gave us raw meat. Fast food chains typically give me the ick. However, the options in Jacksonville for mom-and-pop shops seem to be very limited. The steak we ordered was very good, service was great. We met some coworkers for a family dinner event. My son (9 years old) ordered a chicken tenders kids meal with apple sauce. He was served 3 small chicken bites and 3 tiny pieces of breading. He doesn't eat much for his age and we have never left a restaurant where my child was still hungry after ordering a full meal but he was of course still hungry after three bites of chicken and some sauce.
