I came to a nearby hardware store to get a dust remover. They only have two left before I picked one of them up. It's very quiet around here. No wonder there are not many cars parked next to this hardware store. They really kept things organized here. After looking around, it seems that they have most of the hardware that are available. If the dust remover wasn't here, I would have drove back home to another hardware store for that. At the same time, it looks nice and peaceful here. read more

We have been going to this hardware store since I was a child when it used to be called "Orchard supply hardware". They've got a little bit of everything. And we were happy to see that it returned and reopened in the neighborhood. Because it's usually more convenient than going to Home Depot or Lowe's. We prefer to support our smaller local businesses as opposed to the big warehouse stores. Do keep in mind that a lot of things are going to be priced a little bit more expensive. Kind of like when you go to farmers market or buy organic food at the grocery store. Smaller and local equals paying a little bit more. We frequent this location almost every weekend. It's clean and well organized. And definitely doesn't get a lot of traffic, which we actually prefer. No long lines to worry about. read more

We've been visiting this store for our hardware/gardening needs in recent years. Although it's a bit out of our way, we enjoyed coming to the clean, spacious store with easy parking and especially for the friendly services. Our 'antique' wheelbarrow desperately needed to be replaced; the smaller ones displayed on the storefront looked like a good fit for our need but were kind of scratched up. When we mentioned to the young cashier (I think his name is Tyler) about the scratches he was very pleasant and immediate offered to look for a cleaner one in the back. in a few minutes we received the one without scratches and were very happy again with the product and excellent service. We bought our Christmas tree here and it was so much easier than buying it somewhere else. Plenty of easy parking and they had the trees in buckets of water so they'd get water. Weeks later, our tree still looks beautiful and has zero signs of drying. The very nice employee who helped offered to net the tree for us, but we didn't need it. Just loaded it into the back of our SUV (and then vacuumed the needles up after we unloaded). Easy peasy. A great place to buy Christmas trees and, of course, hardware. read more

I would love to give them 5 stars. It's a local store on Hollenbeck, Sunnyvale, conveniently located, the staff is friendly and most of the time knowledgeable. What I don't like is that one cannot reply on their website information. It happened to me a couple of times: I order online (when it shows as available), drive to pick it up ... get "we are sorry the truck has not arrived yet". Or I see that they have what I need on the website and it's available, I drive to the store to buy, and they don't have it. Next time I will just go to Home Depot. Outdoor Supply Hardware management: your website needs to reflect your inventory. Too bad! You loose customers. read more

I went in and bought a large pickling jar. I brought it home and proceeded to get it ready. I cut my thumb because there was broken glass on the rim. I may have to get a stitch. I hadn't noticed it in the store. I returned. I told them to inspect their glass products for damage before they sell. I asked for a refund and said I would go elsewhere to buy the one gallon pickling jar. The staff was so nonchalant and unapologetic that I've decided not to shop at OSH anymore. There's ACE up the street and Home Depot is also nearby. Generally the product quality is good. The service is not good. read more

This is my favorite garden and hardware store. They always have everything I want, including the supplies to make keys that many other places don't. The prices are always reasonable, and they carry a lot of household cleaning supplies and storage bins, as well as garden and hardware. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful, and checking out is pleasant and quick. read more

Generally , like coming to these less than large name brand locations. Easier in and out and usually ... usually (repeat) more friendly and helpful. This is why don't mind paying more , because it is always cheaper at the big names But this experience was not the best , just before closing and understand but you are open. Asked about a specific product and response was simply "if it isn't over there we don't have it" no checking if I missed it or recommendation on something that would work the same. Gonna go to the big name brand store now , and maybe in the future. Again , don't mind paying more , when I get more. read more

What a great place to shop for hardware, garden supplies, and many other outdoor and indoor needs. This Outdoor Supply Hardware store is relatively new (as of November 2021) and is a lot like the prior Orchard Hardware Supply. I have shopped at the new store twice and purchased multiple items. In both instances, I needed assistance to explain stuff that I did not know. The employees were there and eager to help. What a delight. I personally prefer the customer service of Outdoor Supply Hardware to the big box stores, which are usually make it difficult to find helpful employees. The new Outdoor Hardware Supply is located on Hollenbeck just off Homestead where the old OCH was located. They told me that they also have a store in San Jose and are opening a new one in Sacramento. There is plenty of free street-level parking in front of the store. read more

They are still selling Roundup when they were informed last year that Roundup main ingredient is glyphosate. Glyphosate kills the beneficial microorganisms in the soil and is a carcinogen, causes cancer. read more

Just bought a trash can at a different branch earlier today, it wasn't right for the job so I tried to return it to this branch. Miserable man on the checkout wouldn't let me because he alleged it was dirty & used. Well I guess they don't polish them in the other branch. So glad this isn't my local branch. read more

This is a wonderful place (OSH/ Outdoor Supply Hardware in Sunnyvale) to purchase the things I need. So much nicer to shop here than the cold, impersonal box stores. All the employees are very polite and helpful. They have great inventory-- even the speciality LED bulb I was looking for and it was 30% less than I was charged at the new ACE. I also found ventilating pot for repotting orchids! Yamagami's nor HD had these! They also have more inventory which they replenish regularly. I love this store and have pledged to purchase all my hardware needs here. Prices are very fair. read more

So glad to have OSH (if if under a somewhat new name) back in the neighborhood. I would much rather support a local business than the big-box home stores. Daniel, the assistant manager, was able to help me source a particular Stihl electric chainsaw from one of their other stores. He got the unit transferred, assembled it, and had it all ready and waiting for us when we came in. His communication was outstanding and so much better than what we've all come to expect from retail stores in the US these days. Super happy with my purchase and will definitely be coming back for anything I can get from here first, before checking the other other national chains. read more

I picked up a DeWalt reciprocating saw to cut some tree branches that landed in my backyard. The staff at OSH was helpful, prompt, and courteous. I'm glad they're back at this location - very convenient. Picked up Togo's sandwiches after buying the saw. The saw works great! got through the job in on time.
