My son is typically a very social, happy, and engaged boy and even at our first daycare, which we did not love for similar issues, he at least was very very quick to warm up and happy to be there. This place was a different story altogether and my main and major gripe is with the young ones teacher, Ms. Ryann--cold, detached, minimally engaged. I spent 40 minutes with my son to help him ease in on his first day at this daycare. The whole time I was in the 1 year old room, his teacher did not greet either of us, did not offer to show us where to put things....nothing. I had to go up to her and ask her right as I had to leave. She did barely anything to comfort my son when he burst into tears when I went to leave. All big red flags to me. It continued like that for our whole time there and from the times I was able to check in on the livestreams, it was the same thing from this teacher -- bare minimum greetings or verbal/app updates, no warmth towards my son as he'd walk around crying by himself throughout the mornings, no attempts to get him to join the other babies as she sat in the corner with them like a lazy lump doing no activities any time I looked in. Wouldn't know if she ever did since she never sent a single update picture the entire time we stayed there. Every day when I dropped him off and picked him up, he would totally melt down and cling to me--very different from his typical personality and even very different from his quick and easy adjustment period at his last daycare. The only day he seemed happy at pickup AND the only day we got a single picture update was a day another teacher covered. That teacher actually led art activities and I saw her smiling and engaging with him and the other babies each time I checked the livestream. The difference in his demeanor was night and day, after just one day On top of all that, he was being offered hardly any water while he was there with the normal teacher, as evidenced by a sudden and notable change in his BMs, his desire to guzzle the water I offered him at pick up and from me beginning to monitor the water level of his cup at drop off and pick up (which didn't change at all on multiple days) When we toured, one of my main concerns was that his last daycare wasn't actually taking the babies outside to play at all and we were assured these kiddos went out practically every single morning. I did tend to bring him at the tail end of the time the babies were supposed to be outside most mornings, but there was never any sign of the others being outside. Yet, when I would check the cameras to see if my baby was having a better time later in the AM (about an hour or so after drop off and the time they were meant to be outside), the kids wouldn't be visible on cameras as it seemed they were outside.... I asked about this and was told they werent actually outside at this time, just "watching the other kids play from the door"....because why?? Sounds kind of mean to not let them get their own play time, but make them watch others play...probably just because the teachers themselves wanted to socialize. That's an assumption, to be fair, but not far fetched imo To be transparent, we were only there for about 2 weeks/7 actual days. I let the director know concerns at disenrollment but didn't wait around for her to address them--time is short and everything in my gut was saying this situation sucked for him. The director didn't seem bad, and the rest of the staff was at least friendly on surface level so 2 stars instead of 1 SO happy we switched places, as it was an immediate change in his happiness and demeanor on day 1 and every single day since. We're greeted warmly and he gets right into playing happily. Hes all smiles at pickup, and we get tons of activity photos all day long. They go outside every morning and sometimes in PM and his poo is magically back to normal! Who would have thought warm energy and offering water could make such an immediate and drastic difference

The attitude I'd see reflected as love throughout the school It was so great to find a school for toddlers not yet potty trained and all to have all meals and snacks provided My son went through the infant program and it was great for him; so much growth!! He interacted with the other babies but still got the individual infant care he needed, The daily reports are valuable, The love and care of the individual babies was apparent to me with my son amd is everytime I walk by the infant room Now my son is in the toddler program, Again, I am so impressed with the program; they are all engaged,Cool and interesting lesson topics I can see the teachers control the environment and not the kids. Everyday I see all the teacher interacting with all the kids I like the daily activities and the daily report naps and curriculum learned. Here's the bottom line review...My son has a great home but everyday I pick him up, he wants to stay at Open Arms I will keep him at Open Arms through all of their programs

Now I'm more productive at work because I'm feeling confident in his care. I pick up on very subtle things. Today I was told our baby is always happy and will start to whine only when he's getting hungry or needs a change but he never cries. This tells me they're on top of his care as we are at home. They also have referrals for AZEip if your child needs it. This is NOT a money run business like you find at places like Adventure time with inconsistent staff. They even have rates for government employees. It took us 3 years to find the best place for our kiddo. Don't pass up Brichta without checking it out first. It is truly a west side gem. In addition to their regular curriculum they also offer enrichment class! During the day!!! While your little is already at school! Music! Sign Language! Spanish! Soccer! These are taught by actual instructors and coaches.

With that being said my oldest son (4) has been being bullied by multiple children and adults in his class. More often than not the classroom ratio is severely off. It has gotten to the point where my son is afraid to go to school where as that was his favorite thing to do last year. He scream cries and physically vibrates from shaking so bad out of FEAR of a TEACHER....Priscilla. Priscilla is allowed to have her son in the same classroom as she is monitoring however her son is older than the other children and much bigger over all. Her child is autistic and non verbal. Majority of the time I am picking up or dropping off i see Priscilla physically overpowering her son, dragging him by the arm or just over all yelling. I understand autism is its own to handle but this child is left to use the other kids as biting toys and punching bags. I've witnessed multiple children get shoved across the room by said child while Priscilla was worried about facing me and denying anything I said. My four year old son was also able to make it out of the classroom (child locked door) out of the campus and out the front office before an adult saw him running down Glenn because he was so afraid of this specific teacher. His reasoning was "but mommy I stayed on the sidewalk i was safer ". The corporate office of small miracles conducted an investigation supposedly and the fix would be moving Priscilla out of her own class into training and then she would not be allowed to be alone with her own class. They moved the teachers schedules around so she's not in my sons class at drop off or pick up but she has continuously found reason to write my son up immediately after being reprimanded for her behavior (feels like retaliation at this point) My son has also informed me that Priscilla pinches him. -I asked if he liked a list of teachers, his answers were all yes except Priscilla I asked why and he stated "she touches me and yells at me" I asked him to show me how she touches him and he pinched himself on his shoulders. This is not the first time Priscilla has been found in the middle of child abuse allegations at this specific school. 2024 another mother found her sons head covered with a blanket (by Priscilla) and the cot was also kicked out from under the child's head. Speaking with the director of the school Maria Monaco does nothing. She is very good at rebuttals and not listening. She's cold and tends to appear as fake. Speaking to the corporate Maria apparently also does nothing because there is very little follow up on her end.

Happy Trails offers memorable experiences throughout the year with large spaces to burn off energy for outdoor play, water play with toys/water castles/slides/splash pads, and even a swimming pool option in the Summer for the older children. They occasionally have special guest appearances brought in from the Funny Foot Farm too. An added, yet amazing bonus is that they supply the snacks, and lunch. the lunches are warm and prepared by their school chef. My daughter loves the goulash and never comes home hungry. Whenever there has been a rare issue with staffing, I found that Terri, the head of the program, moves very quickly, and effectively to resolve the problem - always to the benefit of the kids. My family is not overly religious, and even though Happy Trails identifies as a Christian preschool, I've never had an issue with anything that they have taught or shared. At the end of the day I went there after a week vacation and my child no longer had the same teacher again. So I didn't really know the new teacher at all. The guy working on the playground was also new and other new staff I just took that opportunity to just take my child out. I also wanted to mention I posted a review previously here when my daughter was still going here and just mentioning a "few small complaints but over all that I loved this place." And 3 stars. It was followed by the Risa in the front office calling me and screaming at me for about 20 minutes. Followed by nagging from other staff to take the review down. Also my complaint was about like basically all my child's teachers leaving. Obviously left a bad taste in my mouth. And the fact that my name isn't even on here and neither is my child's. The call was a bit surprising. But also eye opening.
