This is my least favorite SoulCycle studio, from the layout to the size of the overall bathrooms…read more The entire studio is really only one main floor, with ample lockers. I didn't love that the showers were quite limited, with only 2 regular showers and 1 handicap. I felt like I had to rush out of class early, before the stretching, to secure a shower. The changing area is quite tight as well and the also limited bathroom stalls (only 2) are a bit dingy. The staff does a good job keeping the facilities clean, however I felt that the studio itself needs renovations. The layout of the bike studio itself is a bit weird and the room was pretty musky prior. The bikes also felt a bit older, as my bike handles were pretty worn. I took a T. Swift x Latino Artist ride and the playlist was just ok. I can see how people may say that SoulCycle is a bit culty - the instructor knew people's names in the front row and this class was really strong and ON IT!! It was definitely motivating. Overall, this location probably won't be in my rotation, however it was nice to try a new studio! The NoMad location still has my heart.

I would rest up, start to feel better, and then out of no where I would re-injure it. Over and over again for a month. Finally, I was talking to my barbell coach and he said "oh, Rena here from Match Fit Performance can help you". The answer to my problems had been lifting right beside me all along. When I met with Rena, she walked me through a few diagnostics, had me try a few moves in front of her and when I was about to say "see, its hopeless!" before I could open my mouth she had it all figured out. She gave me workouts to do daily. They were relatively simple, clearly demonstrated in an app that would remind me what to do daily, and didn't take that long to do. The improvement was rapid once I started doing my exercises. I couldn't believe what a difference Rena made. So happy she helped me through my recovery.

I found Match Fit Performance through the Gotham Knights Rugby Football club. As a new player with…read morethe Gotham Knights, I had found a new passion. I received two injuries, one contusion and torn MCL in my left knee, and one rotator cuff injury. Needless to say, at age 36, the frustration and desire to get back to playing rugby was pretty high. The process of finding in network treatment was a nightmare. After my initial appointment with the doctor (which took more than a week to schedule), a MRI was ordered for my knee. It took another week and a half to get the MRI scheduled, and a few more days for the results to come in, and then another few days to get a follow up appointment with the doctor. The doctor then told me he could not recommend me for physical therapy in network until I got a referral from an orthopedist. After an extensive search for an in network orthopedist with available appointments, I finally got a referral for in network physical therapy. Ultimately it took more than 6 weeks from initial injury until I finally got treatment. My first appointment with the physical therapist I told her that I also had a shoulder injury. The therapist simply told me to "get it checked out" and would not give any advice for treatment. After two appointments and two more weeks I was notified that my sessions would no longer be covered by insurance, and I had no take home exercises from the in network physical therapist. At that point I had it in my mind that I would never play rugby again. All of the wasted time, energy and missed work for appointments at my age seemed foolish. My first appointment with Rena of Match Fit Performance was the first time I felt like I could continue playing rugby. They interviewed me extensively about my injuries, where the pain was, where I was physically before my injury, and what my goals were for physical therapy. I also felt a tremendous amount of empathy for my situation. Rena understood that I was an athlete, and that I wanted to be an athlete again. Immediately my attitude changed toward my recovery goals. I believed I could play rugby again. Rena came up with a comprehensive and personalized plan for my recovery for both my knee and my shoulder injury. She sent me a list or exercises, stretches, and treatment methods, as well as an explanation of what was going on with my injuries and what each treatment was designed to accomplish. As my condition improved the exercises and weekly goals were adjusted accordingly. After two and a half months of weekly sessions, I was back to rugby practice again. All the while Rena was checking up on my progress via email and text and promptly answering any questions I had. The sessions were effective, challenging, fun and personable. They were also tremendously flexible and accommodating with my busy work schedule. I recently returned from playing Rugby in the Bingham Cup. I played five rugby games in 3 days, without any relapse from my previous injuries. Whenever I felt a slight pain or tightness in my shoulder Rena would work with me to on treatment. My team made it to the semi finals of the tournament. The experience was far better than anything I had imagined just 8 months earlier when I became injured. I am forever in debt to Rena and Erwin for their dedication to my recovery process and me. I am certain I would not have returned to playing rugby without them.
