Payless has removed diseased trees, invasive Bradford Pear, and badly planted Leylands from my property since 2008. They always do a great job and offer the best prices for the work. Bob Stancil, the arborist, has been practical and cognizant of the various issues affecting trees. My home insurance company identified two trees with problems and Bob spotted them right away. They also trimmed several hardwoods that will be better without the Bradford Pear trees. The crew has always been terrific. I noticed the one-star reviews. Not sure why people weren't contacted. I have filled out the form again today, hopefully I will hear back soon. I also left a VM today and attempted the online chat which apparently doesn't work. Since moving into our house in a wooded neighborhood we've had almost $4K in tree removal. Payless Tree Service has met all of our tree removal needs and have made the process incredibly easy. The managers are very knowledgeable and friendly. They made recommendations taking into account both our budget and our safety. On our first round of tree removal, I stayed home from work since I'm the paranoid type and wanted to watch the process in action. If you've never watched tree removal, you should. It's like an elegant dance watching men guide huge limbs with rope and climb up trees with chain saws. They clearly knew what they were doing. There were no "close calls" even though they were removing huge trees near a fence, deck, and several houses. Their cleanup is superb. An added bonus was that they even cleaned up some brush in our yard that was already there before they arrived. Score! My one complaint is that they left large, deep tire marks in our yard last time. In their defense, our yard is pretty crappy and it had rained a lot in the days before that round of service. Note, they do have a $500 minimum. read more

Bob and his team were a pleasure to do business with. He quoted us an extremely affordable price, and delivered an excellent service. He was able to work us in quickly. They cut down and cleared 4 large pines in our back yard in half a day. A small portion of our fence was damaged in the process. I brought it to Bobs attention, and he had it repaired within a few hours. They left our yard clean. They contract out their stump grinding to another company. The company that ground our stumps were out within a few days. From quote to completion of the job was less than two week. I couldn't be more pleased with my experience with Payless. The crew did a great job trimming a Water Oak that just got too big in our front yard. They made it to where I can actually see my house from the street! They made sure I was happy before they left, and did a good job cleaning up after a pretty messy job. All for a very fair price. Bob and his team were AMAZING. Bob was very thorough in his analysis of our home's tree layout and discussed in detail all of the options I had as far as cutting and manicuring. Jessie and team were incredibly efficient and skilled. They cut down a medium poplar, trimmed back a large red oak, and manicured all the branches in the trees surrounding my home. The most incredible thing was their team trimmed troublesome limbs that were not included in their original quote at no additional cost!! All in all an amazing company to do business with! We were recommended by our good friends who have used Payless for years and were totally impressed by there work from beginning to end. Had other estimates given to us but Bob gave us the best of all. Took a couple of weeks to get our job done but they had to book a Crane to get the trees up and over power lines in our front yard. Also had to have the power company disconnect the power to our house. Thought it would take them most of the day but they were completely finished clean up and all in 3 hours. EXCELLENT service...again! We have been thrilled with the work and service provided by Bob and the Payless team. Most recently a venerable 100 year old pine had to come down. It was massive and destroying our driveway. The Payless crew did an outstanding job bringing it down and cleaning up after the project was done. After getting a number of quotes I met with Bob from Payless and we worked out a very good price on removing and clearing an area along our fence line and next to the road. Probably 15 trees and numerous bushes and scrub trees. These guys are highly skilled and work hard. It was very hot but they didn't cut any corners and cleaned up all areas nicely. I read reviews before selecting this company to trim a few trees. Estimator was prompt and service was performed on the day/time they said. Foreman was super nice, and for the most part, the crew was as well. However, the tree climber was a complete jerk! He complained in front of me about how bad he was getting screwed on the quoted job and continued to complain during the day. The complaints were loud and often enough that neighbors heard and remarked about it after they left. Payless was supposed to call me back the following Monday to look at doing a few more branches since the climber was quoting me $1000 to cut 2 small limbs (jerk). They never followed up... I guess the company was having a really bad day. Needless to say, I was disappointed in the overall service. read more

We had PayLess Tree Service cut down the dangerous trees in our yard last year. We asked that they remove the trees that were in danger of falling down. Mr. Bob Stancil ,Sr and his company were honest,professional,friendly,efficient and patient, analyzing all of the trees, like only a seasoned expert with a passion for their work could do, explaining about each tree in our yard that we had asked him about, as well as some much appreciated extra information. Bob explained why this tree we didn't need cut down or why that one just needed to be pruned, or why that one should go, instead of this one. While we had a few extra trees cut down, even though Bob said it was not necessary they were happy to oblige. Bob came out twice before his company commenced work, and again when we had additional questions and concerns. The crew that came out was has every bit as professional, polite and efficient as Bob Stancil. We found the price to be reasonable in the beginning and more than fair after the work was completed, We are still wondering how we found such a good company at such a great price. I appreciated the honesty,kindness,patience and professionalism they showed to my grandmother and I. My grandmother was very pleased with their work.
