Pretty spacious and underpopulated outlets except for the Tesla charging station which seems to always has a line even when there are 22 chargers. Everyone is very cordial and waits in line. The stores provide just enough entertainment for us while we wait for our car to charge. Highlight is the Nike outlet which has a pretty large kids section upstairs. Wish there was a Gap Factory store and some other higher end stores. The area is beautiful but just need more stores. read more

It is off the 5 freeway, exit off Ave Vista Hermosa right before the Pico exit. It is near the beach , and outdoors with wonderful views to admire on a sunny day. I am blown away at how convenient it is and at the savings from this location. Maybe it was because of Presidents Day Sales but wherever I looked, I felt as if they were calling my name and enticing me to "come in and shop" and shop did I do. Overall, the prices are higher than expected when you label it an "outlet" . If you find yourself getting hungry from shopping , there is food options like Panera, Ruby Tuesdays, Blaze Pizza, Starbucks, Chocolate Factory, to name a few to quench your appetite or thirst. The Outlets at San Clemente is a relatively new outdoor shopping center located very close to the 5 freeway. One of my favorite things about this place is how easy it is to pull right off the freeway and be there in minutes. The mall has a clean fresh appeal to it. The bathrooms are even nice and have a very high end look with expensive looking construction materials. I hope they continue to stay looking that way. One of the first things that seem to get destroyed in public places are the bathrooms. Shopping is easy with nice large walkways and courtyards. Crowds are typically minimal. I'm guessing that just not that many people are familiar with this shopping center yet. There a many opportunities for growth and vacant spaces here and there. I've seen that expansion of this shopping center every time I visit, with a few new stores opening here and there. Some of my favorite are; Columbia, Sketchers, Calvin Klein and Eddie Bauer. My wife and I always drop in at U-Swirl for some yogurt. Dining is limited with new restaurants opening soon. For now, we have been stopping at Panera Bread. There is a Blaze Pizza located at the perimeter of the parking lot. Speaking of parking lot, right now there is plenty of parking in a very large parking lot around the outside of the shopping center. read more

Dog friendly outdoor outlet mall - yes please ! Even if I don't 'need' anything per se, I love taking a walk around the SC Outlets with the pup and say hello to all of the friendly faces. Almost all of the stores are pet-friendly and outdoor dog-friendly patio dining is available at Rockwells, Ruby's, Blaze, and Panera. Pro Tip: Stop by customer service to get the coupons of the day. The Outlets put forth a strong effort to add value to the San Clemente Community. They have Barks and Brew days, a beautiful holiday display, Cinco de Mayo celebrations, Chinese New Year celebrations, and more. Most of these events feature tons of free stuff - including free pictures with Santa, the Easter Bunny, and coupons for the stores. Most long weekends offer sidewalk sales with lots of discounts and fun photo-op displays. read more

While heading home from Monterey, we decided to stop at the outlets to stretch our legs and (hopefully) find some good steals. You can find well-known stores like Nike, H&M, Columbia, Under Armour, Tilly's, Converse, Vans, etc. here. We browsed around but found that there weren't very many worthwhile sales or discounts at any of the stores. It was almost like they were still full price for last seasons' items. Not really what we venture to outlets for. I did like that these outlets were very clean and pretty to walk around at. They had holiday decor up and it was probably very nice to see at night. Nice place to hang out. My first time to this San Clemente outlet mall. There were lots of families with young children and it had a lively yet relaxing feel.. While strolling from store to store, I loved the feel of cool ocean breezes from the ocean, which is a few block away. The outlet has been open for a little more than a year but not all the stores are open yet. I loved the architecture of the building in the outlet too. A lot of unique stores but it is not a kid friendly outlet. There aren't many kid stores, more for juniors/teenagers.

I was really impressed with these outlets. I think they are way better than the Carlsbad ones I frequent. I didn't get a chance to explore the whole outdoor mall but there was a huge selection of stores and eateries. I didn't have issues with parking or dealing with lots of people. Loved the mission style architecture, brick floors, and SUPER FANCY RESTROOMS of this outlet mall. My cousin and I were mid conversation as we walked in, and we literally stopped in our tracks and simultaneously went "whoaaa." I'm thinking they spent like 50% of their budget on those restrooms. I was also impressed by the level of Christmas decorations...they had me at animatronic reindeer. I stopped by the Coach store just to see the dimensions of an item I had purchased on the online outlet store, but it wasn't in stock, and the saleswoman I spoke to got a tad aggressive about explaining to me that they are a "tier 2" store and that they don't get all the stuff that "tier 1" stores get, and maybe Cabazon might have that bag, but they don't. The stores here are complete garbage. It's not worth the drive out to San Clemente unless you're already in the area. Luckily for me, I was. Theres a Hanes outlet store which I didn't even know existed or was even necessary. There are a bunch of random off brand stores. The most notable store is the Nike store, sad. The view is nice though and there are Tesla supercharge stations, so I guess that deserves a star. read more

It's really nice and clean here, with lots of parking, and it's nice to just walk around and look at shops. It offers the usual outlet brands - Nike, Under Armour, Asics, Levi's, Eddie Bauer, Van Heusen. You can get some pretty good deals sometimes, but there are some where you will never see a great deal such as Nike. I went back and forth between 3 and 4 stars since there seems to be several vacancies and I'm not sure if this location really took off as they expected. It doesn't seem to be that busy, which may be a good thing, but I don't know how some of these stores will last. I think if they can fill up the stores and attract more customers, they'll continue to improve. If you know what you are looking for and they have the brands you like, then this is a nice option due to the fact that it's not that crowded and not so large that you'll be walking a lot. We do come here every once in a while for everyday casual and gym clothes. read more

This review is strictly for the women's restroom. I didn't stop to go into any stores, but did a quick drive around as I had to go to the bathroom ASAP. Nature had called 3.5 hours prior, but I could not answer as I refuse to use the bathrooms at San Clemente Beach, or any beach as a matter of fact. My poor bladder, indeed! My hubby dropped me off near the women's restroom and let me say, when I walked in I was very impressed! I was so impressed, that I was texting my God sister and husband who were waiting for me in the car while I was in the bathroom and now I am actually writing a Yelp review on it. The tile work on the walls and floor were gorgeous. I almost felt like I was in a fancy 5 star Vegas hotel when I walked in. There is a spacious lounge area with comfy chairs and couches where women can breast feed their babies or just relax after hours of shopping. Unlike many public restrooms, the stalls are very private, no peek-a-boo slits on the sides where people can kinda see you sitting on the pot. Although there is a small gap between the bottom of the door and the floor, not enough for people to see your feet and the shoes you're wearing. Was this bathroom worth holding my bladder for 3.5 hours?! Absolutely! I may update my review once I actually go shopping here. read more

The outlets have so much potential and I can't wait until it's completed. I've been twice on the way back from OC/LA county. Heading south is so much easier to get off the freeway to access the outlets. Parking is easier from the north side of the outlets even though there are not many stores in that side of the mall. There aren't many stores up just yet, but it's worth a good walk around to see what stores are currently in place. The stores I frequent here so far are H&M, Nike, Cole Haan, Calvin Klein, Under Armor and The Loft. If you come during a holiday weekend, it's not too crowded, but then again there aren't many staple store fronts like Gap, Banana Republic, Coach, Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Burberry, and then some. The outlets have a really nice oceanview and I swear have the nicest restrooms ever! They remind me of Las Vegas bathrooms - holy cow! Excited to see what's in store for this outlet! read more

This place has been under construction for AGES, and finally there's something here! Honestly, I was a little worried about there being a huge tourist attraction in my hometown, since I love the small beach town just the way it is! But, this doesn't seem like it'll be such a crazy thing after all. Reminds me of the Block in Orange, not too big, not too small. I do hope that more restaurants/cafes/things to eat open up because it'd be awesome to have more of that around! Right now, looks like there is only a Panera Bread and a Starbucks. Hopefully, more to come soon. Shopping wise, looks like there's a good variety: Puma, Calvin Klein, H&M, Papaya, Tilly's, Perfumania, ect, ect. P.S. LOTS of parking, yay! I like that you can see out into the Pacific Ocean from the front of the mall and that parking is plentiful. It will be nice when they build more restaurants with rooftop views to take advantage of this location. I can also tell they spent a lot of money on their bathrooms too. For now, the selection of stores is very limited and the deals are not too good for an outlet. Stores like Nike (which is two-story), Van Heusen, and Guess have a wide selection to choose from, but deals that pale in comparison to similar stores in other outlets such as the Carlsbad Outlet further south. The only place that seemed to have stellar deals when I went was the Levi's store where I scored a $20 pair of Original 501 jeans. They had a good amount of other jeans going on sale for under $30 too. Definitely the best value Levi's store I've been too so go if you need denim. This mall was pretty desolate when I went and I highly doubt it will get too crowded even when it's completely finished since it isn't in a high density populated area. Also, bring a jacket when you go. You will definitely feel a gush of wind from the ocean breeze. The Outlets at San Clemente is nothing more than standard for now but they've got potential. read more

This newly opened outlet mall is still a work in process! There are still a few open spaces that are awaiting tenets or are still in the process of opening. Parking is all around, open and spacious, we didn't run into any trouble with parking. The eateries that are open: Panera Bread, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Auntie Anne's, Starbucks, U-Swirl The ones still Coming Soon: Blaze Pizza, Bowl of Heaven, Rocky Pop, Ruby's Diner And some of the open outlet stores: Calvin Klein, Vans, H&M, Zumies, Sunglass Hut, Cole Haan Nike Factory Store, Papaya, Tilly's, IZOD Golf, Carter's, Converse, Eddie Bauer, Guess.... One thing to note, the restrooms are very clean and nicely designed! Women's room includes a waiting area with couches and floor length mirror! My hope is that this restroom can stay with clean with more and more foot traffic to come! read more

I like this outlet because it has a few of my favorite stores! Since it's a smaller outlet, there usually aren't very many people. Black Friday here wasn't as bad as other outlet malls. It was the most crowded I've ever seen it, but it was still a pleasant experience. You could walk around without bumping into people or getting stuck behind crowds. It's not crowded on most weekends and there are rarely any lines for any of the stores. The outlet usually has live music and some other promotions going on. Last summer, they offered free yoga classes and other ones as well. We also went here for the Chinese New Year celebration and it was a small crowd, but still extremely fun event. They had performances including traditional lion dances. This season, they're having free photos with Santa. The only thing that is a huge negative about this place is the dining situation. It has been open for a year now and yet they still only have two options for lunch and dinner. It's either Panera Bread or pizza, which really narrows it down (I guess). Black Friday brought in the crowds and lines were out the door for both places. Fortunately, they served everyone quickly and we didn't wait too long. San Clemente has some really good dining options, but if I'm leaving the mall to go eat somewhere else, I won't be coming back that day. We went to the pizza place and it was a good option. It's just that having only two places for dining sounds like a missed opportunity for them (and it really limits my options for where to eat!) Still, I love that it has my favorite chocolate store (and yogurt!) For that alone, I guess I'll have to rate it 4 stars. Who needs to eat when you can have chocolate and yogurt instead! read more

Stopped by for a quick shopping trip driving from San Diego to Santa Ana. Super convenient getting off and on to I-5. Ample parking. I was mainly looking for shoes so I checked out Nike and ASICS. Found good deals at ASICS but Nike as usual did not have good deals. It was only slightly better than regular retail prices. I did like Black White (good deals!) and Planet Beauty. It's not a big outlet so all we needed was Starbucks and to use the bathroom and we were ready to get going. Very nice property and the bathrooms by Tommy Hilfiger were Neiman Marcus level or even better!! And plenty of seating where the men could sit and wait, and the kids could run around. Could have better or more stores but I still loved it! read more

Loved going here on a Sunday morning. Beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean. I enjoyed walking around and eating at Panera for breakfast. Not really many breakfast places to eat at. Did some shopping and noticed that people working in the stores were prejudice and not very helpful. That will not stop me from coming back. The store selection is sparse, but I think they will hopefully add more as more foot traffic increases. The outlet center itself though is not too big, probably 1/2 the size of the Lake Elsinore outlet center . The Nike and H&M are huge and have great deals and selection. As far as food venues, the selection is small as well. More like little snack places to stop in for a quick bite. I must say though, being a mommy of 4 and having to take kids to the restroom...their restrooms are SUPERB! The women's restroom even has a very cleaning lounge area where a new mom can nurse her infant. The changing station is easy to get to and CLEAN . Hopefully it will all stay this way. Lol. read more

For a Saturday afternoon, this place was eerily empty...and I loved it! The rows of tour buses haven't descended upon this beach town most likely due to the lack of luxury brand outlets. I wonder if that is going to be Phase 2? If so...sadness. Bathrooms were super clean. Toilet stalls were long with doors that went from the ceiling to almost the floor. No worries about your next door neighbor pissing on your feet. Underground parking structure next to Nike was AWESOME...Awesome...awesome...awe....kids enjoyed screaming and hearing their echo down there. I think there was a total of 10 cars. Elevator and escalators lead up to the shopping area. Near the bathrooms was a kids area with oversized chess board, checkers and "cornhole" games. Mall definitely needs more eating options but I'll give them time. read more

It has a great location. Easy on/off the freeway and expansive view of the ocean. They have a pleasing mission-style architecture with lots of parking! There are still a lot of construction. Not all the stores are occupied so I would say it's still in a "soft open" stage. There seems to be a lot of sports stores - Nike, Puma, Asics, Under Armour, Adidas, to name a few. You get the normal Calvin Klein, Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren too. I would say they have roughly 60-70% occupancy. If you want more choices, there is Carlsbad down south. There are plans to have restaurants occupy the westernmost part of the complex with a 180 degree view of the ocean. That would be something to check out when it is completed. Food choices are still, Panera Bread, Auntie Ann's and Starbucks. The Ruby's Diner is still under construction. Instead of settling for these, We went to Pho Thanh Binh on Avenida Pico for some AWESOME food! Go there! Will have to check them out once filled with all the stores. read more

The Outlets is only partially built, with a 40-50 stores in operation; more "high end" retails are still in the works and to be built in the next phase later 2016. This outlet belongs to the same chain as Citadel with typical outlet retail shops, so you can use the same VIP card for additional savings. Stop by Customer Service/Information to pick up a VIP pass. Although not as big as Cabazon/Citadel, it's a closer drive with slightly lower sales tax, and you save on gas in OC. read more

This outlet definitely has potential. They are continuing the develop the property, which is great because more buildings mean more stores! Well... that is exactly what's lacking with the current space they have. They don't have a good variety in the types of stores and they don't have any luxury brand stores. We were able to go through ALL of the stores in less than 2 hours, which is a personal record for me. They did have an outdoor area to hang out and there was a musician performing the day we were there. There is also a movie theater. Parking was very easy and the place was not crowded at all. They are on the route of the free trolley that goes to the pier. If you're interested, make sure you go to the information center. read more

I feel this place still needs a lot of stores added & restaurants. Two of my favorite stores are Polo & Tumi and this place had neither. As far as restaurants are concerned the only ones I can see that they had was Panera, Ruby's Diner and Blaze Pizza. I'm not sure how long this place has been opened but they still have plenty of vacant retail spaces to be filled up. They have some of my favorites.. like LOFT, New balance and Calvin Klein ( I like getting my bf stuff here). I recently went there with my lovely hadnsome I love the Christmas lights. I go to San Clemente all the time once a month. I saw huge christmas tree right in the middle of the shops.Also I saw palm trees decorated with lights. I had a wonderful early christmas down there. This location has a little bit of everything but not a lot of anything. Maybe it's my age and body type but I found the clothes to be of poor quality, small in their style and trendy but cheaply displayed. The reason a give it three stars is for style and the life size games my kids could play while they waited for me to leave with a pair of socks after being in several stores....meh it's the little things that makes Momma's day!! Take a look around and maybe find a score or maybe not... enjoy the food court and leave your husbands credit card safe for a better place to burn that political capital. read more

I love coming to the outlets. However I was disappointed at my most recent trip. There are less stores due to the pandemic and whatever remains is slightly higher in price to stay afloat. Some of the shoe outlets are okay while others are not. Lots of places to eat which is refreshing. I just wish there was more to this outlet therefore -1 Star. read more
