The AC had the room cold (really cold), which we like for sleeping but I will say it was a little loud, but not so bad as to keep either of us awake. The bathroom was large and had a nice walk in shower. The water pressure was a little low in the shower but we were on the third (top), floor so that's to be expected. With Joplin only 15 minutes away, you're not going to starve. Compared to other casinos/hotels, Downstream is left a bit lacking. Even though I explained to her that we are members and come her often and have never had this problem even without a reservation. She said she wasnsorry that is policy and there are no exceptions. When I asked is there were managers above her it was like pulling teeth. Wow, this was my wifesn60th birthday. I am sending this as a future customer service courtesy. I have been a top executive for a city before I retired and good customer service was and is a priority, and yes, sometimes there are certain circumstances where things go wrong and fall through the cracks and don't align with policy. That's why we have management on duty to correct those some what unfair mishaps, as they do occur from time to time. Kelly make it clear she had no such authority to rectify our situation. So my wife never had access to the spa or pull. If the tone of this email indicates that I am more than frustrated, to put it politely, I AM PISSED!!! As for the food vouchers, they have at least two days a week that play & eat is in effect. So, more food vouchers with play timing and a few points. And I do like One Star for its flexability with points and free play. They can be used in any One Star Casino no matter where it was earned. The down side of the flexability is that you can only earn one set of free play no matter how many One Star casinos you frequent? What makes Cherokee Casino Grove so special is the people. These are some of the best people in casinos. I have mentioned Bailey on another review. Cashier Bailey is my favorite casino associate, ever. She is quitecapable of more me smile and she gives me lucky bills when I ask, humoring me I think. Her smile, infectious. There is another cashier there that I also find completely awesome. I do not know her name but she works 3rd shift over night, most nights. She diserves a shout out also. One very excellent person and cashier. As a good judge of employee ability from experience, Cherokee Grove could have hired him with a promotion of one or two levels and still have gotten more than they expected. Kiowa is just that good. So good Kiowa, makes others around him better. His sense of humor and smile are also infectious and contagious. I'm otherwords, it is hard to be not happy when Kiowa is happy around you. Friend was playing slots and would cash out a nearly $1000 voucher from a slot machine around 4am. We continued playing until around 9am when we left to get food out, and go to the hotel for a short time. Group returned around 10am and began playing until the player that had won almost $1000 earlier, was banned and almost $1000 cash was forcibly and threateningly removed. Pitboss says that the money was available due to a malfunctioning slot machine THAT HAS HAD THIS ISSUE FOR AT LEAST TWO DAYS but was still available on the floor. The nearly $1000 was available, cashed out and played through and then more money was retrieved while off premises. It wasn't until after an additional nearly 5 hours on the floor and a trip off casino grounds, that the casino demanded payment back in the sum of almost $1000. This left the player distraught, intimidated, and uncomfortable with the amount of money that would be left after the "malfunction", and casino demands. After the player ban, the group would leave, and we will never return to an establishment that cannot uphold their end, or offer any reparation for their mistake. Extremely displeased overall with how a situation at this extreme and with such consequence is handled here. Security is also very rude and takes pleasure in forcibly take money back from distraught players after an entire night of gambling. Immature staff. 0 star rating would be Grand!
