The show took place in Wonderworks, which is a building designed to look upside down. It definitely attracts people's attention. The interior was dark. The theater the show took place in is designed for a small audience and the stage is also pretty small. Magician was very interactive with the audience. The magic wasn't out of this world but it was still interesting. It was very family friendly and entertaining, but the magic isn't captivating enough to catch much younger audience's (toddlers/babies) attention. We got unlimited pizza, salad, and drinks, and they even come with dessert. Food was all tasty-- nothing special but still satisfying. Pizza came warm and fresh in thin and large slices and was a bit chewy. The salad had the basic combo of croutons, tomatoes, red onions, and lettuce. It paired well with the dressings (2 were provided). Dessert was a chocolate cake that was light and not too sweet. Servers were all super sweet, helpful, and worked fast so we could enjoy the show without missing too much. I also liked how magician recognized them and expressed his appreciation to them at the end of the show. It was one of the servers' birthdays and he shared that with the audience. Overall, my family enjoyed our experience at this dinner show. It brightened up our moods and it's a nice show all families could enjoy.

Sometimes, as adults, all we want to do is realize our childhood dreams. When I was little, I was always fascinated with the upside-down WonderWorks building, but never had the opportunity to go inside. My mom used to tell me that a hurricane flipped it upside down -- don't @ me, but I believed her for a shamefully long time. Hey, some kids have Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny, I had the WonderWorks building. LOL. We decided to check out the 'The Outta Control Magic Comedy Dinner Show' since I figured that I was older than the target demographic for the other activities and exhibits. The show advertises itself as Orlando's best dinner show; while I wouldn't necessarily agree, I thought it was ok. The magic is fine; don't go expecting Shin Lim or David Copperfield, but most of the kids in the audience seemed to like it. I remember being impressed by similar tricks at that age. They have an above-stage camera set-up that's meant to display close-ups of the tabletop magic, but because not all the tricks were those types of tricks, the cameras were mostly showing live video of people's heads. I appreciated Tony Brent's humor; he does a great job at engaging the kids who come up on the stage and the ones in the audience. My only real tiff about the performance is that right when the show is done, the music is blasted at an uncomfortably loud volume to make people leave. Maybe Brent could've stayed on-stage and indicated that the show was over by waving good-bye to people. The lights turning on and waiters opening the doors were also enough of an indication that we should leave, no need for the psychological warfare. It was a jarring ending to an otherwise ok evening. Food was fine. It's pizza you'd find at children's amusement space. The first pizza they serve is half cheese, half pepperoni. If you know your group prefers one over the other, I recommend asking the waiters for your desired pizza beforehand. They make it fresh if you ask for only one topping and the fresh pizzas are much more tasty. It takes about 15 minutes for a fresh pizza to be made. The salad is a basic iceberg salad with cherry tomatoes. It's only served with ranch dressing. For drinks, they serve Pepsi products, Bud Light, Amberbock, Chadonnay, Moscato, and some red wines (didn't pay attention to the red wine options, tbh). Pours are very generous -- one regular glass is equivalent to a single pour in a traditional wine glass. Is it the finest quality? No, but you can't complain as it's all-you-can-drink for the hour-long show! Service was also pretty good. Our waiter was helpful and attentive. We never ran out of food or drink (probably an unexpected perk of sitting near the back instead of near the stage). Overall, it was an ok experience, but I probably won't come again. I'm super happy that I was able to help my inner child realize one of her dreams though -- so I guess that's truly priceless. COVID Tip: Little to no social distancing. We had a table to ourselves by chance, but other tables were pretty packed. We came on a Sunday, so the room itself was not completely booked up. Employees wore masks.

Also, in this most recent experience our server must have just com from his smoke break because I was sure I was smoking with him when he took our order. Then no matter how many times we tried to get his attention to order more he didn't make eye contact or try to help us. When we finally did get another drink order he brought the wrong drink and then when I returned it he also then had put it on the bill of our table mates (note you'll share tables with people you don't know unless you buy a whole 4 or 6 top). Plus grat is auto added and like I know the server needs to make a living but I hate being forced into a tip that isn't deserved.

The magician even got my brother up for some audience participation which was a feat of magic in itself as Billy isn't really a willing participant in being front and center. The venue is actually what is usually a small hotel ballroom, but it was a good size for a magic show. I highly recommend the vip seating for two reasons: 1. The reserved seating access is for the first two rows. I think it would be harder to see everything further back. I was row two and it was hard because everyone in the first row was super tall that night. And 2. A drink from the hotel lobby bar is included and they had some good stuff....including the blueberry sage mocktail I got! The wife of the magician is a lovely hostess getting everyone checked in and seated before doing her magician assistant duties during the show. The magic was well performed and had some illusions that really had jaws dropping! Overall I didn't find it as "naughty or adult" as it was advertised, but it was occasionally cheeky and ultimately good fun!

There are three different choices for seating. A hightop near the bar, regular tables at the bar, sitting at the bar, or sitting at a regular umbrella table by the pool. I guess that makes four options. I chose a high top. The menus are already on the tables and I was quickly seated and greeted by my waitress who asked what I wanted to drink and I ordered a club soda with lime. Yeah variety of good options for appetizers and meals ranging from a hummus salad to burgers to tacos and three kinds of fries including regular potato fries, sweet potato fries, and yucca fries. I opted for the shrimp tacos with a side of sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries were nice and crispy and quite yummy. The tacos were not great but not awful and came with a green sauce that was pretty tasty. The tacos are included in the order so it made for a decent sized meal. I was surprised when I received the check to find out that they had charged me six dollars for my club soda. Every restaurant I have ever been to has never charge me for a club soda. So they not only charged me for it but charged me twice because I got a refill. When I pointed this out to the waitress she said it is categorized as a soda but after some discussion she removed one of the charges. So I still had to pay three dollars for a club soda. If you're in the hotel and looking for some quick bite that are a decent meal or hanging out by the pool this is a worthwhile option.

They had reserved a private party room, and the hospitality from the staff was exceptional from start to finish. They made our group feel welcome and took great care of both the kids and the adults throughout the event. One thing that really stood out was how much there was to do before and after the show. The kids loved watching and interacting with the pirates in the shop area, where there were sword fights and fun pirate antics that kept everyone entertained. It helped make the experience feel much bigger than just a dinner show. The show itself was incredibly entertaining. While I'll admit I wasn't paying close attention to every detail of the storyline, the talent on stage completely won me over. The singing, dancing, stunts, and overall energy of the performers were outstanding. The cast was genuinely impressive and kept me engaged the entire time. What I appreciated most was that both the children and the adults had a great time. It's not always easy to find an attraction that appeals to such a wide age range, but Pirate's Dinner Adventure pulled it off effortlessly. If you're looking for a unique birthday party venue or a fun family outing, I highly recommend it. We left with happy kids, happy parents, and lots of great memories.

If you like dinner shows, just come and check the box off! Fun show with audience participation!…read more The pirate theme is well done, and everyone stays in pirate character really well. All the drinks have pirate names. They have a pirate stuffie display to make your own pirate stuffie toys, a gold-mining area, a display of pirate weapons, and a bunch of other stuff to look at and play with. The show floor is smaller than other themed shows. So audiences are smaller, and character interaction is more frequent. Some of the lighting was a bit dated, but it works perfectly fine. (just an a/v guy in me being critical of stuff no one notices.) Lol At the start, they took some volunteers to help with the show. This is a great time to volunteer random people and pretend you know them. Like saying "pick my aunt, pick my aunt!" I didn't know that lady, however, she will always remember the good-looking guy who volunteered her on stage to make family photos and memories. The actors all did a good job. They all seemed to be having fun. Which is a great thing for this type of show! They did a good job trying to keep the kids involved. The storyline, well, it's not Disney they serve alcohol. So, I'm not really sure what the story was. I can tell you there was a mermaid, sword fighting, rope swing, and overall talent that makes me wonder how i failed at life. However, these poor souls are out at sea 7 days a week. Let's cut them a break and say awesome job, matey! The food, Can't complain. Didn't come here for a 5-star food experience. As a matter of fact, 20 minutes after sitting, the food wasn't even a priority anymore. Haha. I got the chicken. It was half an entire chicken. Like a Walmart hot rotisserie chicken. The bones pulled right out. The smashed potatoes were made in front of me by a 7ft tall pirate built like a Greek god who made eye contact while smashing these potatoes with his fist.... is how good they tasted. Would I come here again? Well, probably not, but as a group, yeah! All these dinner shows are fun stuff. Like, this shouldn't have been this fun. Go! Have a good time! Don't second-guess it. Most of the 1-star reviews are from people who wanted a hologram show that smells like Disney World, while being served by Jack Sparrow himself. Great experience! Trust me, we all wasted more on less.
