Although I have eaten there several times noting the kebab was undercooked. My family and I dined in this weekend 8/25/23 and had kebab and greek salad. Everyone enjoyed the meal, nice presentation and all. I had only salad and took my kebab home and put it in the fridge as I was full, However, at 3 am they awoke violently ill. fever, chills, vomiting and you know.. the works Moctezumas revenge. I didn't eat my kebab until Saturday 8/26 at 5 pm I was not sick previously , I was fine, until I took three bites of the kebab gyro and went to sleep awakened 3 hours later violently ill. I am certain it was the meat that made us all so sick. I will need to speak with the manager there as its I believe dangerous. I would love to give them another chance but I am very hesitant to do so after a ruined weekend. read more

I've been here a few times now. After one not-so-great experience, I gave them another try, and then another, and eventually learned to like them. My only real complaint is the doner is not 100% lamb, even though I realize the main ingredient of doner does not necessarily have to be lamb. Fine, but they do not have any meat options that are 100% lamb, though the paidakia horin (ribs) were damn good. The service is usually pretty good, which is Mexican means overwhelming at first then frustrating because the waiter disappears, forcing you to go on a scavenger hunt for the check. Aside from that, the pita bread is delicious, but that should never be screwed up, under any circumstances. As far as seating, there are more options outdoors than indoors. As for parking, valet in Polanquito or else park outside of Polanquito and walk. read more

Amazing Mediterranean food!! The tzatiki is some of the best I've had. I also ordered the mezze platter which came with a selection of four dips (mas tzatiki), two spanikopita, two stuffed grape leaves, and pita bread. I would highly recommend it to get a nice selection of different food. The fried cheese stick appetizer was also unique with its sesame seed crust and great flavor of honey. Nice ambience and beautiful place especially to sit on outside tables! But service is not so good and they messed up my order! It would have been helpful if they had English speaking staff! Tried several appetizers eggplant dish, meatball and pasta and none were impressive! However kabab gyro on pita was ok! Price is manageable! Worse Meal Ever! The lamp chops were the size of thick bacon. Completely impossible to cook medium rare and all the food was ice cold including the French fries. Completely inedible and they never asked if we enjoyed our food or not. I made it clear mine was cold and inedible but the waiter made no suggestions for fixing the situation. This is the first time I've ever not left a tip and the waiter clearly understood why. My husband's food was cold as well except for his fish. It was the only warm Thing we got. The accompanying veggies and fries were at cold as my dinner. Cold food and bad service and expensive lamb chops for 1/4 inch thick. Would not recommend, ever! read more

Modeled after a typical Greek beach taverna or ouzeri. Beautiful decor, great location, great food and service. Probably the best terrace in the Polanco area. The gyros and souvlaki pita are a must, Paralia Shrimp and the horiatiki salad are a must! Fish is not their specialty, I'd opt for the lamb instead. Seems like a fun place on weekends ... full of local families enjoying the open terrace and their little private pack right in front of the restaurant. read more

This Polanco eatery was the perfect spot for an earlyish (7:30pm) dinner on a Monday night. While most places are simply setting up at that time, Ouzeria already had a handful of diners enjoying sangria at many of their sidewalk tables. Service was fine, nothing remarkable, but the food was really impressive. Our trio ordered for the table and shared everything. There's a generous tapas menu and selecting between the many items proved difficult. Ultimately, we went with the sautéed shrimp (a must), warm pita slices paired with homemade tahini (another must), grilled octopus (good), a gyro made with carne de res (required eating), and the homemade french fries (too oily, somewhat soggy). The shrimp and the gyro stole the show for me, and the good news for folks not wanting to sit down for a meal is that there's a gyro takeout window (a sign that their gyros are that good). The take out counter is inexpensive and fast. Overall a conceptually good gyro sandwich. The problem with them is that they don't offer the traditional gyro meat which is a combination of lamb and beef minced and seasoned. Their gyros are what I would classify as cooked meats in a gyro like sandwich. read more
