He ordered the chicken sandwich with fries and a pickle on the side, and he said it was delicious. I stole a few of his fries, and they were perfectly crispy. I stuck with my usual BLT, adding onions and pickles, and it was just as good as I remembered. I also ordered a side of potato salad, which tastes homemade and definitely doesn't seem store-bought. We grabbed a piece of cherry pie to go, although I don't have a picture because it disappeared very quickly in the car! Overall, Dot's is still an awesome little diner with great food, friendly prices, and that classic hole-in-the-wall charm that keeps me coming back. Definitely still a five-star favorite.

If I were asked how this business could avoid closing, I'd say A) Either make it an Irish Pub or change the name of the restaurant, and B) avoid saving money but reducing the more expensive ingredients (e.g. meat) and increasing inexpensive items like bread and rice (in my wife's entree). It sounds like a few people went in once and had a bad experience. As someone who has been going here for years, I will say only a couple of times have they been slow. Majority of the time everything is excellent. I'm happy that they are in the historic Belvidere mansion now.
