    Awesome sauces!

Went to our new favorite BBQ place again today and the BBQ was better than ever! I had the sliced brisket, Mac and Cheese and fries. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich with baked beans. Both were delicious! Be sure and up size your drinks and help out Tunnel to Towers Foundation! The staff were great checking on us and telling us about the pictures and patches all around the walls! As a Veteran I really appreciate their support!

This location is in a bigger shared plaza with plenty of parking. You walk in and go to the counter to order and then you go back to the counter to pick up your food. There is plenty of seating with a big open feel. The service was friendly and provided a couple of samples when I was trying to decide between sides. We didn't have a long wait to get our food after we ordered. My husband felt that the collard greens were a little salty. He really liked the turkey and felt it was moist. He preferred the potato salad to the coleslaw. I really enjoyed the ribs and green beans. There are a variety of bbq sauces at each table. I loved the honey heat. Enjoy!

We were in Tulsa for The Affair Of Hearts and found this. I have eaten at a Mission before in different states. Was hoping this one was just as good since I was taking my daughter's. You order at front so takes a bit if your new. Ordered brisket with cheesy potatoes and beans. All really good. Even the cornbread is so good! Sampled daughter greenbeans and they are not plane Jane. We all shared the Apple cobbler dessert but small so didn't last long. Lol then went and ordered 3 more to take home. We were all so impressed! Daughter loved it, so was searching other locations. We are happy to find out one is coming to OKC area. Can't wait!

Overall Impression: Gimmicky but the BBQ is good. Mission BBQ has only one mission - to honor and give back to police, fire, first responders, and military. The restaurant is full of heroic and patriotic tributes of US uniformed heroes. Look past these tributes, someone like myself, may find this gimmicky. Other restaurants have done something similar, where they would give 10-15% of earning to their cause. Mission BBQ gives our uniformed heroes very little back, "gift" once a month, and no discounts on food whatsoever. When 99% of the their customers are non-military, police, fire, or first responders, one has to question what are they really giving back, a smidgen not worth mentioning. The ribs and baked beans were excellent though. The ribs had that smoky taste and served in a half to full slab. I would like for them to cut each slab into individual ribs so it would be easier to consume. The baked beans also had a nice smoky taste. Mission BBQ had the most diverse option of BBQ sauces available, 6 to choose from. Only the smoky mountain and Memphis Belle were of my liking. Impressed by the food but disappointed by what they are giving back to our heroes, probably very little. If you are able to look past this facade, Mission BBQ is excellent.

We received fast and friendly service on an impromptu Monday evening stop in. We both ordered chopped brisket sandwiches with a side and a drink- one was green beans (really good), and one was Mac and cheese (pretty good). The sandwhiches were a good size and flavorful. I added a sweet and spicy sauce for more kick, but it didn't "need" it for flavor. I think if the bun had been buttered and toasted on a flat top it would have pushed it over the edge and earned a 5 star review. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. We paid $40 for the two meals.

It's not just a lunch but an experience. If you happen to be a hero or just appreciate hero's, you're going to like this place. My husband, who is an inactive Marine, just loves it. The theme is heroes such as military, police, and fireman and it's decorated accordingly. All the staff are ultra friendly and enthusiastic. At 12 noon each day, everyone stands and sings the National Anthem. The kitchen staff even comes out for that. The service was incredible. Our brisket sandwiches were delicious. I liked the sides best. Next time, I'm going to have a lunch with just a variety of sides. The Apple Carmel cobbler was amazing.

Sauces on the table - in my opinion this was the better side of the selections.

I can't believe this building used to house Zio's. They did an amazing job remodeling it! My husband had tried this place on his own, when I was out of town, and loved it. He was given a coupon for a free sandwich so we went back to redeem it today. I'm a vegetarian so we were thinking I wouldn't have many choices, but there are several sides and two sizes of salads to choose from so I was totally ok. I ordered an entree size salad and a side of mac and cheese. The cashier misheard me and rung us up for a small side salad (which was not super small, fyi). This was remedied after our food arrived and I realized the size mistake. The staff was very kind and gave me an entree size salad, on top of my smaller salad, to take home. The salad was fresh and the ranch was delicious. The mac and cheese was super creamy! My husband was happy with his brisket sandwich and cheesy scalloped potatoes (he let me try some of the potatoes and they were amazing). We chatted a little bit with one of the workers in the dining room who is originally from Las Vegas - she was super friendly. We had asked about the Black Plate Special and she explained some of the things on the menu, told us about a ceremony they do every day at noon with the pledge of allegiance, and gave us another coupon for a free sandwich. The dining room was kept very clean even though it was decently busy. We will definitely be back and will bring family members for their birthdays.

New Mission BBQ restaurant is FIRED-UP with great customer service and community involvement, but there is no SMOKE! I'll go ahead and let you know, that my standards for BBQ are very high. I grew up in the Houston area & barbecue is a cult down there. The recruitment and indoctrination starts at a young age So I put most BBQ places into two categories: ‍ Craft And Quick ‍"Craft" barbecue: A barbecue that uses high-quality ingredients and precise techniques to smoke meats and make sides. Craft barbecue places may: - Use Higher Quality Cuts and/or unique cuts of meat - Smoke meats low and slow using woods like oak, hickory, or pecan - Make there own rubs & sauces, while still letting the Protein and Smoke be the main character - Create unique sides & desserts - Use locally sourced ingredients Downside: Takes longer to produce, limited daily availability, may be sold out of item you wanted. More expensive. Less options for customers to choose from- limited menu Examples of Craft barbecue in the Tulsa area: Oakhart / Nomads / Leon's / Mac's / BurnCo / Clark Crew "Quick" barbecue: A convenience based, mass produced version of the above. All the basics are covered, it gets the job done. A quick barbecue place may: -Use Basic wholesale proteins -Smoke meat off-site and/or done in industrial "ovens" -Use pre-packaged / mass produced sides and desserts -Often be a chain or franchise -Have Extended service - open longer hours -be more convenient to get to -have something on the menu for everyone Downside: Depths of flavor, obsession of technique, and creativity are generally low Examples of Quik barbecue in the Tulsa area: Rib Crib / Oklahoma Joes / Billy Sims / Mission BBQ Now, Mission BBQ did a great job! The location is big, well lit and clean. Comfortable seating for large groups. Walk-Up and order style, grab a cold bottled drink out of the ice and take a look at all the US Veteran appreciation flags, awards and pictures on the wall. All of the staff was cheerful & busy getting the customers quickly serviced. A young woman floated around the ordering line and seated patrons with a platter of small cups, offering a complimentary taste of their pulled pork. Another server came around and gave a friendly recommendation of which sauce to use on each protein and that her favorite bite was the Alabama White Sauce on the Smoked Turkey Before we finished our meal a manager came around to make sure we were happy with our experience. A+ for service, value, and community involvement. Each item we tried was executed well, served at the right temp, and prepared within traditional norms of that dish. No dish was inedible or off-putting. No dish was unique or memorable. The Smoke flavor and bark I prefer on barbecue was nearly absent on most of the proteins. The meats were all tender, and none of them were dry. For a quick service barbecue option, it's a great option in the Tulsa

The food was about a 5 out of 10 at best. The best part of the meal was the gyro meat, It was absolutely delicious but nothing else was that great. We are huge Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food lovers so I feel like we can give a pretty good review on this. The cabbage rolls were definitely different than last time. They were heavier on the rice and didn't have as much flavor. The grape leaves were not good at all. We actually ended up spitting them out, unfortunately. The hummus was really heavy on garlic, which we love garlic, but that's not usual for hummus. The tabouli was super heavy on parsley with little to no bulgar wheat. I'm hate to have to write a bad review on this place but compared to how it was a year ago, it really has changed. I heard they changed owners, but I can't be certain about it. I also have to say it wasn't the cleanest place and they didn't have any napkins out and a lot of the tables were dirty. I think the couple behind the counter were the only ones working so I can understand that they couldn't get to the tables quickly, but it also isn't the best look when you walk into a facility that isn't kept up very well. I will usually try a place a second time, but this one was bad enough that I don't think that I will.

Salad and Go in Jenks hooked me up and made a fan out of me. The drive thru lanes were empty and service was friendly and fast! I ordered the Fajita Wrap w/ chicken (710 calories/$6.79) and a Cobb Salad w/ chicken but WITHOUT hard boiled egg (because... ewww ) (780 calories/ $6.79). The Fajita Wrap was massive. No, it was humongous. Some might say is was "transcendent", but I surely would not. The cold flour tortilla was stuffed full and literally bursting at the seams with chicken, lettuce, avocado, black beans, tomatoes, red peppers, poblano peppers, pico, pepper jack cheese, and jalapeño ranch dressing. I could only eat half and I'm already looking forward to devouring the second half tomorrow! The salad was pretty incredible. It was also pretty huge. The greens were a very fresh mix of romaine and mixed greens. There was plenty of cherry tomatoes, fresh avocado, real bacon, blue cheese crumbles, freshly diced chicken, and a packet with just the right amount of creamy blue cheese dressing. The salad was diced to just the right size. I didn't have to wrestle huge pieces into my pretty voluminous pie hole. Overall, the price was right, the quality was excellent, and the freshness was unexpectedly perfect. Not a single piece of wilted or slimy lettuce was found.
