Great little restaurant for your vacation lunch or dinner. We went in the evening after dark but the views in the daytime are amazing.... you are literally sitting over the edge of the beach, hence the name! The owner is a little French woman who is funny if you actually talk to her and provides quick, hospitable service. Our table of 5 ordered a variety of foods. We had the seafood chowder and planks shrimp as apps and dinner meals were, chicken Caesar wrap, Mahi mahi, a burger, chicken sandwich, and special fish dish for the day. Everything from great and all come with a side of fries, salad, baked potato, veg, or something else. OMG, I almost forgot to mention the free bread they give when you sit down. It's fried bread, so think elephant ear without the powdered sugar! Delicious! We asked for a second basket :D The chocolate cake and key lime pie for dessert were also delicious. We went here twice during our stay at The Reef resort. One of the only places that opens early and serves brunch on East End. You'll run into some patio cats that are very friendly and will sleep by your feet while you eat. If you eat on the patio you're literally hanging over the ocean which is really cool. The food was solid both times we went there, but definitely doesn't give you the "wow" factor of Tukka or the Czech Inn which is about a 15-20 minute drive down the road. The other issue we had was incredibly slow service. Having worked in the service industry for 6 years I understand things can get busy and hard, but both times we went (once for a late lunch and once for brunch around 10am) the service was slow. People that sat 15 minutes after we had arrived had drinks and food prior to us getting our food the second time we went there. I totally understand things happen and there are other factors that could have played a role in it, but we were pretty bummed it happened to us twice. My significant other and I went to Over the Edge for dinner as recommended by our Air BnB hosts. We were told that the food and location were pretty amazing. We sat on the patio that overlooked the ocean. It was very relaxing to hear the sound of the waves and experience the breeze. We had the Wahoo fish special that included bread, rice and peas, vegetables, and plantains. Ohhhhhh the food was so good!!! I loved the meatiness and flavor of the wahoo fish. The service was a bit slow. Perhaps, understandable as it appeared busy. We didn't hear from our waitress again after the food was delivered. However we had a good experience and would definitely recommend Over the Edge if you're on the island. read more

We took a chance after hearing a local talk about Over the Edge on the beach today. It was a trek from Seven Mile Beach but we had a rental car and we're up for an adventure. We were a little worried it would be hit or miss based on reviews but we were pleasantly surprised! Reasonable prices, no automatically added gratuity and service was fast! My wife and I are staying at the Morritt's and stopped by for lunch yesterday at Over The Edge. I had the huge 8oz angus burger with cheese and bacon and my wife had the fish wrap, both were excellent. We decided to try their breakfast the next morning and were not disappointed. We both had omelets, I had ham & cheese and my wife had a spinach/mushroom omelet, both were very good. The view was the highlight of the visit, it was absolutely gorgeous, full ocean view. This place put me "over the edge", so I give them points for truth in advertising. Our waitress was aloof and kinda rude...as if we were putting her out by just being there. Our table looked liked it broke off the side of a barge and hadn't been wiped in a month. There were flies *everywhere*. It took like 20 minutes to order our food and then another 20 to get our sodas (which were flat). Our dishes came out wet....like I could've watered a house plant with the excess water. But at least we knew they were clean (fingers crossed). Food was unmemorable. Reasonable prices for Cayman. I loved my fried Caymanian style lobster and my boyfriend's surf and turf was so delish; lobster grilled big and plump tail and the steak was thick and so tender. Breading is decent, seemed like panko crumb style. A mild white flesh fish. Didn't ask what it was. A bit slow after get your food, have to ask when they walk by. Let me preface this with stating that I am very accustomed to Island time. What I am not accustomed to is a level of service that is deplorable. I will start with the worst... A family next to us decided not to wait after they realized it was at least an hour before apps would even come out. They left after getting their water which I watched one of the kids drink out of. The waitress collected all of the glasses and then distributed them to other tables! I politely made her aware that they had already been drank out of and she flipped out and starting asking other tables if they saw anyone take a drink. Tacky!!! Now the food.. it was cold upon arrival, and it was clear the kitchen was not the issue as food was stacking up. The Ahi was so bad it could not be eaten. It was seared while frozen and you could tell it had freezer burn. As you bit into it water poured from it. It's a shame with such a beautiful view that the overall experience was so bad. A great stop with delicious food! Their prices are much better than other options on the east end. Try the se viche! It is WONDERFUL. but unfortunately, the two times we came back for it they said they weren't making it that day. Their burgers are good, and a generous portion. Their drinks are good- not great. If you can, sit outside! It's beautiful with a great view. Just be careful & make sure to watch the little ones, there isn't a great gate to stop little ones from falling over. Also, the restaurant is home to a few cats! They likely won't bother you but they are there to enjoy if you so wish. read more

Our family thought the food was very good and the Pina Coladas and Mud Slides were exceptional. The price was right and if you can sit out on the deck at night, do so. They have underwater lights and you can see all sorts of marine life. That kept a lot of us entertained. The only problem is the interior decor was very old and needed a big refresh. We were seated at a big banquet table and the vinyl was cracked and it was so dark one of our daughter-in - laws had to use her phone flashlight to see the menu. The view off of the deck is magnificent. The food however was average and the service poor. I ordered wahoo which was the special for the evening. It was overcooked and dry. The Greek salad which accompanied the fish was served on the same plate so the dressing mixed into the sauce of the wahoo, not ideal. Also ordered was a cheeseburger which was overcooked and chard which made it dry and almost inedible. The final entre turtle steak in a port wine sauce was quite delicious and cooked to perfection. Melanie was our server. Getting our food took an hour and we didn't order appetizers or drinks. Tables served by a waiter arriving after us were served before us.
