This has been the worst experience. Albeit they are nice people, they just can't get the job done. This deck was supposed to be finished in June 2020. It's now January 2021 and the deck still has not been completed. Communication on their part has been terrible. Various workers have been out working on the deck from time to time... extra holes in deck boards, extra holes in gate, uneven stair treads, gaps, measured stairs wrong now I have a concrete patch in my yard... and it's still being "worked on". To say it's been a disappointing and frustrating is being kind. Please call someone else for your building needs. This company is not worth your time or headache. read more

It took six months from estimate to completion to get my new soffits installed. I got a lot of apologies but don't really understand how it took so long. They finally got the work done when I posted negative reviews online. But now the job is done and they look nice. No more birds living in my roof. Office and sales people were easy to work with. Siding, porch, and railing project were just short of a train wreck. Flat roof got resurfaced, leaked into the downstairs bathroom and ruined dry wall. LO smart siding have little confidence it was installed correctly as I find spots not painted and starting to rot 1 year post installation. Railing install was poor. Railing scratched and feel apart less than a year post install. read more

We had our 1920's asbestos/concrete roofing replaced with asphalt shingles and our gutters replaced as well. Except for some weather delays, the crews did a great job with the removal, install and cleanup. We even had an old odd sized skylight replaced. And their estimate was very fair as well. Nightmare. Promised a 1 day roof. Took 4 days. 3 months if you count how long it took to fix everything. Didn't drape/shield siding/windows/plants. Said they would. Shingles, nails debris was hitting g the siding and windows like a tornado. The "project manager" that was supposed to be on site - nowhere to be found. The crew didn't speak English. No one at the office seemed to care. I finally used my phone translator to tell them to stop completely until they could get a supervisor on site. By then all the flower beds were crushed, tree limbs were broken and my dogs had no safe path out the door. At the end of day 1 - the dumpster was blocking my neighbors access to their driveway (yes I argued about it - no they did nothing), they left for the night with the roof not draped so we had squirrels IN the house in the middle of the night (so much fun) and shingles were hanging from the power line going to the house. Day 2 and 3 - about the same. Add in them lying and saying "they didn't know how much decking would be needed. Really???? So the total square footage I gave the salesman for the partial roof replacement was where EXACTLY??? Hhhmmmm...... Day 4. The owner is now on the roof. I am barely speaking to anyone. The mess is so far out of control I don't even have words - I do have video and pictures though. The owner fails to install the bathroom vent??? Which I won't find out about until the electrician shows up in a few weeks to install. He also fails to reinstall the gutters properly. They are so crooked we start experiencing flooding around the house. Again - pictures. 2 large sections of gutter are simply missing???? They have zero explanation for this‍ Job done? Really? They NEVER cleaned up. never. We are still finding nails in the yard. The trees are finally recovering. Some of the plants never did. Oh - best part - they billed over $3000 MORE than what I signed for Claiming it was for the decking they "didn't know about". Omg!!!!! Worst. Company. Ever. read more

I've reached out for an estimate, got an appointment setup, Rick appeared knowledgeable and experienced, provided his point of view on the issue... that's it. Never got an estimate, reached out to Rick through cell, work, email - kept getting 'working on it' answer for over a month.. company never showed any further interest in my business. Glad i had the experience at the beginning stage, who knows what they would be like to work with if they are unprofessional in just getting an estimate. Even communicating that they are not interested in my business would've been fine with me, but to just not reply and string along, is just bad business practice. read more

We hired Over the Top Roofing to diagnose and repair water leaking into our living room over the fireplace. The office staff was helpful when I called and Chris came out to inspect the problem within 2 days. He took time to explain the problem and what he suggested to repair. The work involved installing a new flashing system around the 90 year old chimney and tuck pointing work. He put a temporary patch on the leak and his crew did the work within 2 weeks. Contacted them to replace my leaky/rotting skylight. They showed up on time for the scheduled estimate. Fixed my skylight and came in at the estimate. They only issue was scheduling. I kept asking to be given a day/ put on their schedule but was told other jobs were first and waiting for parts. Then week later they call and say they will be there in 30mins. I call and say no, i'm not home, you cannot do the work. The office then called and complained to me about saying no when they gave me 30 minutes warning after i was asking to be given a date. Once i was given a date the company showed up and did professional work at the estimate.The scheduling was the only issue, dealing with the employee responsible for scheduling and then their office employees. read more

If I could leave them a 0 star rating I would. I have filed a complaint with The Dept. of Agriculture and Consumer Protection, (letter attached from them) who they ignored responding to, and now have a complaint on file. My roof has been leaking off and on, varies due to the size of the rainstorm, since they installed it. I dealt with the owner Rick, who told me to call chimney experts since he thought it was the chimney leaking, not the roof. Multiple chimney companies, and other roofing contractors came out and all agreed that my chimney is not the cause of the leaks, and that the leaks are coming from the flashing that was not properly installed by Over The Top Roofing and Construction. I went back to Rick with all of the information, including proof from an expert saying it was the flashing, and estimate, and he continues to ignore my pleas for them to fix their mistakes, and get my roof to stop leaking. I paid them close to $20,000 for a new flat roof. They provided a lifetime workmanship warranty, and are not honoring it. My interior has been damaged due to them not installing the flashing right. read more

Aaron stopped by this morning to give us an estimate for doing repairs to our cedar roof. He looked at the roof, told me it was in good shape, and that the roof needed maintenance, not repairs. I can't speak to the quality of their work, but can attest to his timeliness (showed up when he said he would), his knowledge, and great customer service. He easily could have recommended work that didn't need to be done in order to make a buck, but instead referred us to a company that would better meet our needs. Consumer beware of this company's bad business practices and rude attitude with customers. They try to bully you into paying before your insurance company inspector comes out to check the work. They do not like customers to ask questions about the work or process. They neglected to communicate the process with me or put a contract in place before starting the work on my home. They used a sloppy crew to do my roof who did not use a tarp and just trashed my yard with nails. The job took 3 days and they still left the nails there. Both owners, Kevin and Josh (father and son) are impossible to reason with. They blame their workers for everything and get nasty with their customers. Josh blames his father for mistreating their customers and yet the apple don't fall far from the tree. Not only is there no contract signed for the work, they have also removed and destroyed my gutters without my permission and got the nerve to threaten to sue me.
