Overhead Garage Door of Duluth installed a two car $5900 garage door in Nov. 2025 and did not install a motorized opener. The opener was not itemized in the work order, BUT, who installs such a door without an opener and without recommending or mentioning this??? The catalog only shows an upgraded motor as an option. Installed wrong garage seal which caused door not to shut completely leaving a gap on both sides of the top of the garage door. Would not come out to adjust however did come out when not home to remove the seal which left a 1/2 inch gap letting frigid air into the heated garage. Fortunately Phil's Garage Door came out put the correct seal in, replaced the metal strip ( that overhead removed, damaged and left ) and adjusted. works great. read more

Asked them out to check a garage door opener. Rep never climbed a ladder, took a closer look, just said "you're going to need a new opener" sat in his truck, came in with a quote and left. At the house less than 10 minutes and sent a bill for $97. Such a rip off and needless to say, we did NOT purchase a door opener from them. When I called about the bill, the person on the other end was extremely rude and disrespectful. I choose to spend money and give business to companies that are respectful and don't look to rip people off.​ read more

I will never work with Duluth Overhead again, nor do I recommend any one else work with them. I will gladly give anyone details that would like them but in short, they never called when promised, ordered the wrong door and then charges US an extra $200 for the new one and, because of many errors on their part, we had to wait 3 months since first contact to have a working garage door. I have never had a cutomer service experience like this. Please do not go through this company. read more

I've been in business for over 30 years and highly value good business relationships. In short my experience with Overhead Door in Duluth, MN ( Owner is based in Hibbing, MN) was horrible. I purchased a new garage door for my Duluth property for $1,200 which was paid in full upon installation. Imagine my surprise a year later when I learned that I was in collections while viewing my FICO score. Duluth Overhead Door charged me an additional $85.00 for a part while installing the door and evidently sent me a bill. Not expecting any type of bill from the firm it may have been tossed in the junk mail pile. No courtesy phone call, no second reminder - nope straight to collection company. Of course I paid the outstanding bill via collections once I learned of the issue BUT my I have a ding on my FICO that will take 30-60 days to disappear. Not fun when I'm in the middle of a property refinance. THANK YOU DULUTH OVERHEAD DOOR - good for you getting your $80. Nice job. I'll be going elsewhere in the future for all my properties. read more
