The tech originally came out for a noise in the air ducts. He ended up finding an unrelated faulty part in my furnace that was causing a leak, and required me to turn the furnace off until the replacement. The tech made sure and got the part and installed it that night. He stayed until 6:30pm to see the job through. My 8 1/2 month pregnant wife and I would've had to go without heat that night in freezing temperatures if he did not do such an expedited job. This annual maintenance has been provided by Overholt for several years. It's always been easy to schedule an appointment. They have also helped us with heater repair. I would never recommend this company to anyone! We had them come out to look at our AC (it was blowing cool air, but not enough to keep the house cold during this hot weather, thermostat read 83°). Tech arrived looked at the unit, said it was dirty and just cleaned it, charged us 120 bucks then left. We had to call him back that afternoon because it was still not working. The tech came back out, said it was the compressor and will prob need a new unit. Didn't know how much it would cost but would contact us to let us know. Never called us back to inform us how much it would cost! Horrible customer service! Got a 2nd opinion SINCE OVERHOLT WOULD NOT HELP US! The other company put us in a hotel since we have little kids and there was no way we could sleep in a hot house in this heat, and they came out the next day at 9am and installed a new unit!! Overholt was fast with a response, we were getting quotes for a new heating/AC unit, and not only were they recommended by a home builder friend and have an A+ rating by the BBB, they also ended up being the most affordable. Overholt Heat & Air responded on the same day we called. They called to let us know when they would be arriving. After inspecting our AC unit, the technician explained the problem. He explained the cost for repair thoroughly-breaking it down to cost of parts and labor. We were impressed with his professionalism and his pleasant attitude. They were the worst. They charged an initial service fee. That is fine, but then they made a phone call to the office to see if they had a part. That cost us an extra $75. Didn't fix our air, they left and we never heard from them again. Never returned any of our phone calls. They cashed our check though. We sat in 90 degree plus house for two days and had to call another company. Avoid them like the plague please. read more

In all of my dealings with Overholt, I have found them to be Fast, Efficient, Knowledgeable and courteous. Prices are normal or perhaps even a little less, and a fear of mine that companies can take advantage have not materialized with Overholt. Just some good local people to deal with. read more
