What a great experience...a key shop that has it all including Vespa scooter blanks and duplication. Quick, Friendly service by the owner and the key worked perfect! Huge selection of rings and accessories...nice to work with a family run small business!

Update 3/23/2022: QUICK IN AND OUT NO LAPTOP NECESSARY This is a shout out to Ali and his wife Shenaz, who not only quickly made a new key for my vehicle, but have even been able to quickly program it! Last time I had a key made for it, even my following directions in the owner's manual has not helped me to program it. But the other key maker did successfully program it using a laptop. What's amazing, was that Ali did not need a laptop! "OLD SCHOOL" COUPLE EVEN ACCEPTED MY CHECK! What's more? They even accepted a check. This meant a lot to me since I have to get a new credit card number right now. They have owned Overlake Lock & Key for 30 years now! Their hours ain't what they used to be (see photos), but they are to be commended just for being able to stay open during these UPROARING 2020s! Godspeed to you both Ali and Shenaz!

New non-OEM key from Amazon after $9.99 cut cost and DIY programming.

I called for a quote to get extra keys for my 2 vehicles. I have 2 working keys for 1 Ford and 2 for the other. Based on the Yelp reviews, including push back not to use keys purchased online from the big online warehouse store, I decided to try Batteries+ located just around the corner (they were recommended in one of the reviews). I purchased 3 keys online ($16 for one and $25 for two). Today I took the blank key FOB and had it cut for $9.99. I verified it would turn on and then went through the Ford programing process for both the transponder and Fob (I had 2 working keys to start with). This took me less than 2 minutes and it works great. I'm going to take the 2 keys for my other Ford tomorrow and have both cut and only one of the transponders programmed. I should be able to program the 3rd transponder and both FOBs using Ford's programming process using the vehicle ECU. I did quite a bit of research before proceeding and your path forward may be different depending on the vehicle make, model and year. Remember to read you owner's manual and check out YouTube, lots of great information that can save you a lot of money. There's also a 3rd option if you only have 1 working key, you can buy a one and done programming tool on Amazon for around $64 (it can do multiple of the same key). I'm tempted to buy the commercial programming tool and use with my laptop and start a side gig doing this (it takes around $10 to do the programming).

Dropped off a lock to get keys made for it. They call back in 2 hours saying it is done. Awesome, fast service.

I have tried to come twice in the last two weeks, both times they had a sign that said they had an emergency. When will they be back open?

We reached out to him because we had a stuck double door and three tricky, full frame double door locks that needed to be rekeyed (and we didn't have the key for them, either). We'd had another locksmith out to work on them a few years ago and he gave up - said they were really difficult to work on and that we should replace the hardware instead (!!). David and I talked about the doors and the rekeying; I sent some photos; he said "oh, that shouldn't be a problem" and he was able to rekey all three of them - much to our delight! And not only that, but he did it quickly and cleanly. And he unstuck the door, and he fixed another issue where the full-frame lock was coming off the door - so, above and beyond work. While he was here, we talked about replacing some locks in the house with smart locks, and he made some recommendations. On the way out he noted that our handset on the front door had broken (he was correct). He mentioned that Baldwin - the manufacturer - had a lifetime warranty and so I should be able to get it replaced for free. And once again, he was completely right. I ordered the locks and the warranty replacement for the handset. He came out again and installed the locks, rekeyed them to match the house, and replaced the handset. He was very transparent about cost and pricing; he probably doesn't charge enough for his excellent work (it was less than the other locksmith who couldn't actually do the job!). We now have our go-to locksmith!
