The bowling alley is usually pretty tame, lanes are easy to bowl on. For a local house, it usually boils down to the patrons for me, and I find that the crowd here is usually less distracting than at other alleys in the area. Usually haha. At the very least, I almost never get nasty looks here when I ask people to stop picking up my bowling balls, unlike at some other bowling alleys -_- Paterno's Pro Shop is where it's at! I've been to a couple of pro shops both local and out of state, but my experiences have been average at best. I'm not young, but I was definitely new to bowling, and I feel like I've been absolutely traumatized and discouraged to bowl by other pro shops. I feel like the local pro shop is vital in keeping the sport alive for new and young and upcoming bowlers. If you aren't welcoming to new folks, the sport will die, and it will be your fault. As soon as I stepped into Paterno's, the folks in the shop made me feel at ease. Everyone greeted me with a smile, and there was zero pressure to talk about making a purchase. In fact, the owner Phil advised against me purchasing a new ball until I figured out my style more. Phil spent so much time with me to try to help me get better at the game, without pressuring me to buy any fancy new, expensive gear. Instead of having me purchase a new ball, he worked with me to re-drill my existing ball at the time (for much, much cheaper) to better fit my hand and throw style. He passed on an easy sale so that I could salvage a ball I'd already spent $$$ on! Now I've been coming to this shop for a few months now and have bought balls for both myself and my mom from them. Phil and crew are so friendly and welcoming, and are always happy to make time to chit chat and give tips. This is the Pro Shop experience I'd heard so much about from my tournament-bowler friends... and this is where I send all my friends and anyone I meet who is looking for a local pro shop!

I signed up for a class by using there App called "NorthStar Sports". My session (which was 30…read moreminutes long) usually they are an hour and fifteen minutes long but in the early mornings they have classes that are shorter. It was for REAL. Jerry, and the rest of his team took notice of what I could and could not do and pushed me to my limits. The Northstar team is very professional, while also being friendly. It is a fun environment with music playing as they train you. They have every ball imaginable and two basketball hoops in the facility. The best way to describe a workout is that they work many different muscles. At one point I was on the treadmills, then on an erg machine, then lifted light weights for reps that worked my back and finished it off with some plate pushes. They also offer a shake for once you are done with the class. Shakes cost $4, strawberry was awesome.

Kids from all sports and ages (I have seen 10 yr olds looking to advance in their sport to those about to try out at pro ball camps) come here and the training sessions are tweaked to the athlete's particular needs. They worry about every participant equally, regardless of their age or skill level and go to athletes' competitions to support them. Jordan has come to the kids' swim practice to observe and talk/learn from their coaches so as to understand their needs. These are an outstanding group of people committed to helping people become their best version of themselves mentally and physically!

Myself and my boys had been to one other escape room experience (in Albany, I believe), but this one was above and beyond our previous experience. It reminded me a little of the MagiQuest at a Great Wolf Lodge, but better. We were two moms and 4 teen/tween boys and us moms enjoyed it as much as the kids. We started with the easiest adventure - Dragon's Curse. We had an hour and we completed it in about 40 minutes. We will definitely be back to experience some of the more challenging options!

Awesome set up- awesome actors - awesome experience. Lights off windows down and non stop spoOkiiness!! Following that you are directed Into a parking lot- park and you can enter the haunted houses. They are all little individual " panic rooms" very cool! All different themes in each house separated by a corn maze. After all of that you are led into a little village where there is a stage and they do magic performances- along with some food stands and the cutest little trinket store where we got some cool vintagey Knick knacks! I have to say, for an adult this was a lot of fun for our group of 4. There was no " bumping " into other people's groups or little kids ruining the time for us. The lines look kind of long but with social distancing implemented it's really not and you move right along! Not like haunted house ma use to be years ago when it was just chaotic and lines were insane.. The set up was so smooth and easy to follow ensuring you don't miss a thing ! From one attraction to the next just smooth transitions. It was definitely worth the hour ride! For anyone who is a park and nature lover, this is a place to stop at. Easily spotted from the main…read moreroad, there is plenty of parking to fill up. There is a sign in the parking lot which leads to the trails, which at the beginning a map is provided. Get ready, the signature is well marked, and it's very easy to not get lost. All of the trails cover less than a mile with a mixture of scenery, not with a lot of views but enough to soak in nature. There is some tripping hazard along the trail with rocks and tree roots, so please take caution. There are also tables, a pavilion, playgrounds, a swimming pool, and also a disc golf course. Summer Day Camp is provided at Hackett with these names mentioned. Hackett has a lot to offer in all areas, don't miss out.
