This is a real working ranch and farm. They have a large…read morestrawberry orchid to pick your own. Other times of the year there are blueberry and blackberries to pick. They also sell local produce and sides of beef. The staff gives you buckets to fill with strawberries There are three different types of strawberries spread out in different sections. Some are sweeter than others. There were no signs posted to differentiate them. . We picked all types. After you are finished they will bag and weigh your strawberries, and you will pay by weight. Picking strawberries is a good deal of work, walking on uneven ground and constantly bending to pick. The season runs from December to March, so the temperature is nice. The best way to store the strawberries is in the refrigerator, unwashed, and covered. The ones we picked have so far lasted one week and still taste fresh.

The ranch was pretty easy to find, just a drive down a dirt road following signs to the farm. You pass some chickens on the drive up that you can park and feed for no charge. There's a mailbox that was full of bread upon our arrival, and we also brought our own bread scraps as the website said we could. Pulling up to the farm, you see lots of rows of beautiful bushes as well as a bunch of big ol cows and some babies. :) You can feed the cows for free from a bin of leaves or have a little lunch at one of the tables by the cows. The farm itself is lovely. They're currently in their strawberry season, where you can hand pick strawberries into a bucket, and you're charged by pound. $3.75/lb. Not bad! Behind the entrance they had other veggies available for picking such as kale, rainbow chard, cabbage, lettuce, etc. When we came, a very friendly woman showed us the four different strawberries they had available: wild strawberries, strawberries for chocolate dipping, big giant strawberries good for making juices or drinks, and super juicy strawberries that are supposed to spoil faster. She was super helpful and showed us how the farm was also labeled with markers so we would always know which strawberries are in front of us. One of the farmers was in the back tending to the strawberries and showed us an easy way to pick them off the stem, and he also gave me a big beautiful strawberry that he picked for himself. Paying was easy as they took card with no fee. The payment area was inside a shop with other fresh produce and some baked goods. I know here you can also inquire about fresh meats. Overall we had a wonderful experience here picking strawberries. They also have a blackberry and blueberry season!

On our way to Tampa from Orlando, we stopped in Plant City. The location was about 15-20 minutes off of I-4. Upon entering, an employee introduced us to the business' concept. They provide quart-sized containers for your use while picking and you transfer them into a container of your own. They recommend you bring a shallow container so the weight of the strawberries don't crush the ones at the bottom. Each quart is $.50 and you pay by the honor system in cash. For $3.50 we brought home 10 lbs of strawberries. Pro tip, we noticed some of the biggest, most beautiful berries at the back of the fields. We will definitely be back every year!

It was about a 25-minute drive from our house, and we parked in the farm's parking lot. We had an amazing time at the farm. Picking our own strawberries was so much fun, and they tasted incredible. Our toddler loved it too, he had a blast picking the strawberries. There was a coffee truck outside the farm, and after picking strawberries, we enjoyed delicious coffee.

We arrived around 2 PM, right after a brief 10-minute rain shower--which, by the way, wasn't even in the area of the farm. The weather was perfectly fine when we got there. Yet, to our shock, the place was closed with no updates anywhere--no Facebook post, no notice, nothing. Understandably frustrated, we noticed someone walking around and approached them. This person kindly told us we could pick a little bit, since there was no rain, and the berries were literally rotting on the plants because they were at their peak. So, we took a bucket and started picking, thinking we could salvage the day. And then--out of nowhere--this miserable, screaming woman came running at us like a lunatic. She was shouting at the top of her lungs, threatening to call the police, demanding that we stop picking immediately without even bothering to ask why we were there or who gave us permission. Instead of handling the situation like a reasonable adult, she was aggressive, rude, and completely unprofessional--the kind of person who makes you wonder how a business like this even survives. She ruined what could have been a great day, and frankly, she deserves to have the reputation of this farm completely destroyed. I hope the owners find someone competent and respectful to run the place because this was beyond unacceptable. I will be warning everyone I know to stay far away from this farm. Disgusting behavior.

Right now it's strawberry season and they were around $5 a pound. So many beautiful ones to pick. At the end of March, they will start their blueberry season and you could see row after row of blueberries Afterwards less than five minutes away, they have their market with produce, a cool bar with lots of local draft beers and Florida wines and a little country store that has delicious ice cream. They offer several types of u-pick fruits, veggies and sunflowers at different times of the year. They have a fun zone area and food trucks. The only thing I don't see on this farm are animals. I love that they allow the 5K races at least once a year. With those races, you usually get blueberry pancakes and a pint container to pick your own blueberries from at least 6 fields. There were 2 available to pick from when we were there. Plump and sweet blueberries are to be had if you know how to pick them. Don't let the bees scare you off. Leave them alone and you will be fine, unless someone in the next aisle pissed them off. They have peaches, sunflowers and strawberries to pick as well. I noticed the map also shows veggies but not sure when or which kind are available but nice to know. I love the observation deck above the gift shop. Amazing views of the farm and surrounding land with plenty of seating to take it all in while you enjoy a cup of coffee from the gift shop. I hope they can hang on to this land once the developments continue closing in on this rare property.
