I am amazed by Owen and his custom work. I encourage you with all confidence and no reservations to use Owen and his crew, they are truly AMAZING. I am selling a 2m house. Interviewed and received bids from many contractors to fix a crack in the stucco on the side of my house that previous owners had just used expandable calk and painted over. Bids came in recommending I do same thing....basically said new owners won't know till they buy the house. Owen said you can do that but I am not doing that shoddy work. You will have leaks, bugs, all the problems you have. I hired Owen. I was in a rush. He made time for me. His crew came out and spent two days in the burning heat on 3 story ladders to complete the work as promised. If you do not use Owen and his crew, well, you will use them eventually. I have advised everyone I know to use Owen and I require all my relatives to use him. You cannot believe the thanks I get. This guy is a magician. He can do anything. Stucco is tricky and every job is different. I know. I have another house that is all stucco; efis. I only trust him to work on it. Okay, this is a long note but to give credibility, here is what he did and his team....and let me add, Owen was at my house both days....not just his crew ....who are amazing too. 1) problem at north wall alley side of house...side expansion joint was not installed where addition meets original ( seller did not disclose!) 2) Owens team sawed vertical cut on either side of connection of original and garage addition from foundation to facia 3) removed existing stucco and mesh back and original sheathing and cleaned 4) installed vertical expansion joint between addition and original building from base to roof facia 5) replaced house wrap and mesh to fitted expansion joint, reapplied base coat, additional stucco and finish coat to match original surface, sealed and directed painter on painting stucco. Result: no moister, bugs, bees etc can get into garage from stucco crack which was previous problem. Previous owner just covered problem and that was bid of other contractors. I was unwilling to do that for legal reasons as it is a disclosure issue....is there moisture, defects etc....but even if I wasn't selling, there was a need to FIX. Why pay $1500 over and over and have water and ants and bees and mice in your garage and cracks expanding when Owen can fix your problem for good. He told me the truth, explained the problem ( in a way I could understand) showed up promptly with a crew, they climbed 3 story ladders 2 days in a row to complete the job pursuant to agreed deadline and charged me $3500 dollars. No add on. You are crazy if you don't use this contractor, whether you are a contracting company or a personal home/building owner looking for stucco work. Do not use this company. He uses EFIS (not traditional stucco) so be aware that if you want traditional 3 layer stucco, you might need to look elsewhere. Also unlike many other companies he doesn't employ the painters so you need to use a separate painting company Initially Owen was responsive to starting the job and followed through with execution, even though the initial crew he brought in did not match the texture between old and new stucco. We have had other companies work on our house before and we never even thought a company would fail to match the texture. Based on what others have said this was probably just a mistake and Owen tried to make it right in the end thankfully. **The big problem is that Owen is not present during the work so as good as he is your job is dependent on the skills of the crew available.** [Update 1 10/22/17] His crew showed up with no scaffolding and have still not fixed the job. Also Owen has become increasingly difficult to deal with as our questioning of the job has continued. Now going on two months to get this issue fixed. I would look to many other other stucco companies in the Houston area. I will update this again if the job ever gets fixed. Owen did an excellent job and did not hesitate to take over our stucco remediation project in his busy schedule. While others contractors were proposing to start the repairs in 3 months and give us a duration of 3 weeks for the repairs, Owen was able to get to our work in 1 month and finish the work in one day. They disrupted the whole neighborhood here on Indiana street in Montrose. They were very disrespectful and whenever you asked them to move their trucks since they blocked your driveway it was like moving a mountain. Also the house they worked on looks terrible with mismatched colors and uneven lines read more

We recently purchased a resell home built in 1999 and had a home inspection done prior to closing on the home. The inspector made various findings; we got repair estimates and lowered the price accordingly. Unfortunately, on the stucco exterior the only findings were various nicks and dings from lawn work etc., a few thin cracks then inspector said was normal, and he said the windows and a couple of other stucco penetrations needed sealing. With him noting no major stucco concerns, so we put $2,500 in for repairs, and after reductions of all of our repair estimates from the sales price, and we closed on the home. We called Mr. Lassiter, since he seemed to be highly rated on Angie's List, and asked him to come out and give us a price to fix the dings, seal things, and repair the cracks if needed. He came out the next day and called us back. We asked if he had found all of the things in the report and asked what it might cost to repair. He was very apologetic and said yes, he found and could fix all of those things, but that our big problem wasn't mentioned in the inspector report, and that was the fact that all of the wood under the stucco below every window seemed to be rotten. I said the inspector didn't say anything about that and he said he was sorry, but that is what the situation was. He met us at the house that day and showed us that you could feel under the stucco that the wood just flaked off in our hand. I called the inspector, he said he thought it would be fine, and that it shouldn't be an issue, and that sometimes at the very bottom, some wood would become dry and flaky. Well, we trusted Mr. Lassiter, and gave him the job and to check below the windows as he suggested. As his crew, Joe and the guys, started saw cutting the stucco, they found the backing boards were in various states of rot. In some places it had totally rotted away, in others just large areas had rotted, and fortunately found only a couple of places we had frame damage. Owen's crew rebuilt everything, actually better the in areas of repair than original, took great care to match the replacement stucco on the bands and walls to other areas not repaired, and actually refinished large areas facing the street just to assure everything looked as new. They also found several other areas they thought might be damaged or become an issue in the future, and replaced and refinished those areas under the original pricing. Using NP1, they resealed all openings through the stucco, all of the windows and doors, various areas where the roofing interfaced with the stucco, etc. We aren't sure how the repairs will stand up over time, but for now we are happy with the repairs. Owen says the repairs should last longer than the original stucco in the other areas, we'll see, but for now we have no reason to doubt him. He was right on every call he made and we would use him again any time (though we won't be buying anything having stucco without have Owen come look at it first). If you are purchasing a home with a stucco exterior, we would highly recommend having Owen come look at the home prior to your purchase. We found out even TREC certified home inspectors (or at least the one we used) don't seem to know much about stucco. We wish it had not cost as much as it did, but we feel we got value for the price we paid, and Owen said if we have any problems, he will be there to correct the problem.\ read more
