Being wined and dined by the Ole Miss football staff had us at Oxford Grillehouse house. What a fantastic steakhouse in the middle of "The Square". We were VIP's so of course we had our own private dining room. We kept seeing other patrons peaking in to see, who's in there..LOL!! The food was freaking delicious! We had a little bit of everything, but the lamb chops, grilled jumbo shrimp, filet and the fried lobster were the stars of the show. We had a family dinner to celebrate a college graduation and it was terrible! The orders were wrong, except for three of them. There were eleven of us. My husband ordered a strip and did not get it until everyone was almost done, so the waitress said we would not be charged for it, but we were charged for it... TWICE! My son ordered the filet and got the strip, my other son never got the sides for his order and the waitress was told twice that he still didn't get them and still didn't get them! (We were charged for the sides!) She asked if they could eat the pasta that my granddaughter got for their sides! The red snapper was terrible! It was tough and chewy. My son's filet was supposed to be rare and my grandson's was medium rare, but they were not cooked right....but, they just swapped their orders. The blueberry lemon drop cocktail had no blueberries. It was a disaster...especially for the outrageous prices! The steaks were very good, but the orders were so mixed up! We had eaten here before and it was very good, but not this time! This was absolutely disappointing experience. It took forever to get our food out and that was even worse than the bread which should've come before everything. Our waitress spent half the time ignoring us and when she did speak it was incredibly passive aggressive. We ended up having to go up to the bar because she wouldn't come to our table. The service was unbelievably poor -- we waited far too long for even the simplest things, and when we finally did get attention, it felt like we were an inconvenience rather than guests. What made it worse was the management's attitude. Instead of addressing the issues professionally, they were dismissive and downright rude when we brought concerns to their attention. It's shocking to see leadership behave that way in a place that claims to offer a high-quality dining experience. As for the food... disappointing doesn't even begin to cover it. Everything we ordered was sub-par -- bland, overcooked, and absolutely not worth the price. During our meal, cheesecake for dessert came for one of our desserts, it was moldy ! my granddaughter wrote a review and was told the moldy dessert was the fault of the server-- perhaps, but our server was really nice, very attentive, and everyone thought she was great. To blame her seemed out of place, but maybe it's one of their duties, here. The food was good but the lack of any accommodation whatsoever makes me glad I won't be coming back very pricey and marginal value. On a random late Sunday afternoon, and with evening dining options seemingly limited in Oxford, my wife and I decided to give this steak house a try (for our very first time). The service was fair, but a bit uneven, with the youthful waiter sometimes disappearing for extended periods of time. He seemed familiar with the menu, however, and had decent recommendations. I hated having to flag him down several times for simple refills of my iced tea. Those types of things ought to be automatic for any server. The food was actually good. I had a large steak filet, and it was prepared exactly to my specifications. My wife was impressed with the quality of the drinks expertly prepared by the bartenders. The inside of the restaurant had a nice vibe to it. The paint on the ceiling is peeling off, and while that may add to the rustic charm of the interior, my concern is paint chips contaminating my food and drinks. (I wonder if the paint is so old that it contains lead?) If in the area, I might stop by here again, but I'm very interested in trying some of the other restaurants in the area. First visit to Oxford grill house (very difficult to get in, had to go on non-game day weekend), but now we know why, steaks would rival Ruth's Chris, Morton's or Jeff Ruby's, yes they were that good! We frequent Ruth's at least once a month, and if I lived in Oxford this would be my go to steak house, no question. Steaks cooked perfectly, great flavor, Brussel sprouts perfectly crispy, green beans seasoned nicely, and the strawberry butter with bread stater was phenomenal. I would give this place 0 stars if possible. We put our name in at 4:30 and were told 2 and a half to 2 hours and 45 minutes. We went back around 7 to see our status and were told another hour to hour and a half. We came back again in an hour and a half and were told there were 2 parties in front of us. We watched both parties be seated and then saw a 3rd party get seated in front of us. We went in to inquire about why we were not being seated and were told that the owner frequently will manipulate the list for VIPs. We ended up getting seated around 9:30. Steak was alright but be warned the prices you see online are much less than the menu prices. We called the owner to speak about all of this to see what he was willing to do and the only words out of his mouth were that I was wrong and he doesn't touch the reservation list. Seemed like his ego was a little hurt that I called him out on adding his friends in. He also tried calling the hostess over to reprimand her for telling me he manipulated the list. I have never met a business owner in my life that acted like such a child and couldn't speak to a customer and was so ready to degrade his staff. Bad Management - Was in Oxford for a game weekend and understand things are super busy. They don't take reservations so we got in line for a table of 6 at 4:30 pm for the wait list and were 5th in line. We didn't want to eat that early so we asked if we could be on the second round of seating's, they said not a problem and they sat the two six tops that were behind us. So we were top of the list for the next 6 top which should have been around 6-6:30. We left and came back around 5:45 and watched one six top leave at that point we approached the host stand as a manger approached and he told the hostess not to seat that table that the owner had friends who were moved to the top of the list and were going to use that table. At that point we were told that the other 6 top should be leaving soon. They proceeded to chat and hangout with the table next to them until 7:45 even though thy had been sat since 4:30. 1. The owner should not bump friends to the top of the waitlist on one of the busiest nights of the year. 2. They need to tell tables there is a time limit - the one table that left at 7:45 had been sat since 4:30 but they didn't want to order that early so they chatted for a full hour before even ordering. read more

Meal was fine but the aftermath has been a disaster. We were seated in a private room, and we were one of the last tables at closing time. I accidentally left my purse hanging on the chair. Once I realized it was too late because they were already closing when we left. We tried to call but the phone number on the website does not work. We checked back in the morning pre open and the purse was gone. I have tried to communicate with management to no avail. Considering we were traveling from West Coast, I had to travel home the next day. All my id, credit cards and wallet were lost and the restaurant has yet to even follow up to emails, call and requests from a local relative who has went three time to ask for a manager, but was not able to speak with one or receive a call back. We made reservations at Oxford Grille on the Square for 10 people for Ole Miss graduation. They charged me 280.00 for the reservation because they said it had to be a table of 12. They did not put this towards the food. They did not have us seated at a table of 12- it was set for 8, 10 max if you squished. We brought 11 because they were clear it had to be a reservation/seating for 12. It took 1.45 mins to rec food. The food was sub par and not everyone got their food within a reasonable time together. It took an additional 20 mins for everyone to get their food. I absolutely understand that this is a very busy evening so the delay can happen. Sadly, I was out 280 to make a reservation for Ole Miss graduation - that did not go towards the food. I am letting this group know so you dont make the same mistake I did on an important event meal. Restaurants are limited in Oxford for meals unfortunately but I would look for other options if you dont want to be over charged. read more

They said no you had 7 it's the owners rules. You all have to leave. My daughter went to school here for 4 years. I have been here many times in the past this must be new. Underwhelmed for dropping 3 1/2 bills honestly. There were excellent moments - the rolls with the strawberry and honey butter were phenomenal and the wedge salad one of the best I've had. But the dry aged ribeye was meh, cooked properly but overly seasoned. The baked potato ok, not bad, not great just ok. Sadly the Gouda Mac n Cheese was actually cold and the "two fried tomatoes" while tasty, was such a small portion that they could have easily been fried green cherry tomatoes. Others in our party had smashed potatoes and Brussels which were again ok, not bad - not great. They also had filets again over seasoned, though cooked to temp properly. OXFORD GRILL On 2/18/2023 my wife I visited Oxford Grille House. We ordered 2 steaks which come with two sides each and 2 glasses of wine. Our salads arrived first and towards the end of my salad I pulled a long black hair our of my mouth. Obviously it was not mine as I am mostly bald and the hair that I have left is super short an my wife has blonde hair. The waiter very rarely came around the entire time we were there and when he finally appeared I brought it to his attention and he apologized and said that he would take care of it. The rest of the meal was fine except for trying to get over having to pull the long black hair out of my mouth and being able to move past it. Once the waiter finally came back we asked for the check. Once he finally came back with the check not only did he not take the upcharge for the salad off we were being charged more than the price on the menu. The menu stated that we could upgrade a side to a wedge salad for $5 which we both did but when I received the check it showed that they were charging us $9 each for the upgraded salads. I had to wait once again for our waiter to return so I could ask him about the difference in price and the fact that he didn't take anything off as promised when we brought the hair to his attention. When he finally returned he corrected one of the salad upcharges and removed the other. I decided not to continue to push the issue seeing how our waiter was no help in resolving the issue. I decided to reach out to the restaurant later by emailing them and letting them know what happened and give them a chance to respond. After over a week with no response I decided to leave this feedback. It just seems like the restaurant would have at least reached out with an apology but I got nothing. read more
