I was able to take bathroom breaks between sessions, and it was one of the most relaxed test settings (while still adhering to all rules). The two dogs (Zeus and Zoe) are therapy dogs, incredibly mellow and gentle, as many of the people who use the center have special needs -- from what I understand the center helps place them with training and jobs. They started that aspect of the business because of their son, who is developmentally disabled (the dogs are his). Downside: parking is awful and public transit is nonexistent from my neighborhood, so I had to Lyft.

They not only avoided providing instructions on what setting was required for the online exam (until I was already on a video call about to start the exam), but also had me wait a full 3+ weeks (aka the maximum amount of time they say you will receive your results by) before letting me know AFTER I contacted them to follow up that they NULLED MY EXAM. I did not even receive an explanation as to why it was nulled- they simply forwarded an email to me to let me know something was wrong and that I would not be refunded ANY of my $200. As someone applying to graduate school, and studying for years for this exam, I was incredibly dissatisfied by the lack of organization, communication, and scamming conducted by UNAM Los Angeles. I would NOT recommend this institution to anyone looking for a proctored exam or any kind of timely, respectful communication.

The fee might be more than it would be at a community college, but the classes are small and intimate. So you can't really hide; you're forced, albeit gently, to learn. Fernando taught the Spanish class I was in and he is also the coordinator for their language program. I understand that he and the other teachers actually have linguistics degrees and are likely over-qualified to be teaching basic Spanish. Nonetheless, Fernando was extremely enthusiastic; somehow, he was able to identify where you are weak and push you to develop in those areas without making you feel lost or slow. Highly recommended.

Much nerd sadness. Though I must say the Irvine facility did write me a letter saying they were going to update their machines, so hopefully they did. However, at the El Segundo Facility, my experience with the machines was much improved. Hyper V was was running fast and the PC's were running faster than mine. I was impressed. The teacher and staff are also top notched. For my Advanced SharePoint course, the instructor was very knowledgeable and always helpful when I needed his assistance. He also kept me awake and not let my mind wander, which is very hard to do! My Salesperson was great as well and even took me out to lunch. He also helped me get registered in the class at the last minute. Anyways I felt I learned something in my course taken here and if anybody has the money or the time, to take training here.

IBI played a huge role in my landing of an internship with a PE shop. I was able to showcase the models that we built in class to my interviewer and he really liked the initiative on my part to enroll in the class. For those students with no finance background, understand that the material is pretty dense and that you will get out what you put in to the course (aka study outside of class to get the best value). IBI is not a silver bullet to getting your dream job but it will act as a focal point of interest during potential interviews and provide you with a solid knowledge foundation ( As a bonus, you do get to keep all the class materials).

First off, some background on myself: I went to a top-tier university, but without a strong foundation in science, I did poorly in my premed prerequisites. I especially struggled in chemistry and biology. This course really gave me the confidence that I needed to take my MCAT and feel like I can actually get into medical school. I am the type of person that needs structure in my study schedule and this was the perfect way to keep myself on top of studying. Todd is a GREAT teacher and made learning about physics and chemistry so much easier than it was in my undergraduate classes. Cecile also taught organic chemistry topics in ways that made so much more sense. Other great teachers included Tarek (who focused on biochemistry) and Alex (who taught CARS lectures). What makes The Berekely Review (TBR) so much more than just an MCAT prep course, is the fact that the teachers are more than willing to talk about their experiences applying to medical school and what they did or what they would not do. Todd is also very knowledgeable in medical school apps and gave amazing advice. TBR felt like family - I met two other students and bonded with them immediately. This helps tremendously when you are struggling through hard concepts and practice exams.
