He asked me to text him 4 times despite being told 4 times that I didn't text. He even then asked me if I had a cell phone as if I was lying. I asked him if I could give him the number of the tile I was trying to match and he said NO! I then asked him if he had Internet access so as to look the tile up. He refused. When I asked for the owner, he refused to tell me who it was. Then I asked to speak to a manager and he once again refused. I raised my voice because he was mistreating me for no reason, despite being told that I was a first-time caller. He hung up on me. 1/7/2020 - "Removed and installed water"…read more I would like to start out by saying, I am not from this area so I have no clue who to call in regards to home-improvement professional services. My mother is an elderly woman and is not too familiar with home-improvement professionals in the Rockford area. In saying this on 1/6/2020 I noticed that her water heater in her basement was leaking. We called Menards to see if they had any qualified professionals who they would recommend to help assist in getting this situation resolved. Menards by Cherryvale Mall gave us several references whom we could contact. I called back to a couple of referrals and left voicemail messages. However, due to the serious nature of this water heater leak I continued make to calls. J & J Home Improvement was the next company that I contacted. I was quite impressed after speaking to John (one of the brothers) he even agreed to come out the following morning to evaluate the situation and give us a proper quote. John had informed me that he would be able to get to it sometime this week but wasn't quite sure until he saw everything that needed to be done in house. John informed me, that he would be out to the house at 8:30 AM on 1/7/2020. 1/7/2020, John arrived at the house early (8AM) in the which was absolutely fantastic for us! He explained to us all that he would need to do and to our 'great surprise' he said, he and his brother will be able to do it right away. This kind of professionalism is very rare to find and greatly appreciated! We went to Menards with John and his brother Jason and purchased the supplies. They transported them to the house, and then we returned back to the house. In short form (throughout the whole entire time process, John, answered any questions that we had while still working. Action items done: * Top professional Service from start to finish * Worked with us in purchasing the BEST water heater for the home and even making us aware of Menards Rebates. * Removal of water heater * Replacement of water heater * Taking old water heater with them * Clean up, spectacular! Hardwood Flooring was purchased, and the install was absolutely horrible. Larry Shields,…read moresales/manager, came out to my home to look over the poor install. Larry agreed that the installer did a terrible job, and told me he would order a new floor, have the current floor ripped out, and install the new floor. After 2 months of deceptive stalling and dragging his feet he is now going back on his word. I've read this exact same scenario in other reviews of Stateline Carpet and Flooring (promise that "We'll make it right" and then stall, stall, stall, sorry we aren't replacing the floor). Larry scheduled a "independent" inspector to come out and inspect the floor install, so they could pursue damages from the contractor that did the install (at least that's what he told me the inspector was for). Now it's very clear that he sent this inspector out to try and cover themselves, so they could get out of replacing my floor that he promised me they would replace. Seems like a rotten form of deception to lay on a customer. I literally have an HVAC vent covered up by their installers. The floor squeaks all over (the installers kept having to tape up the leaking hose to their nail gun so I'm thinking it may not have drove the nails in far enough). I could not even open my French door to my patio when installers were done because the shoe moulding went up too high and literally sealed my door shut. I'm still waiting on 6 recess vents to be installed (been on back order an awfully long time - tough to have faith in what Stateline is telling me at this point). I have multiple pieces of shoe moulding that are so loose you could literally lift them right up from the floor. The two installers installed 560 square feet of hardwood into 3 rooms in 5 1/2 hours. I had my own contractor come out to look at the job and he was shocked at how poor the install was and said it needs to be ripped up and replaced. When I told him it only took them 5 1/2 hours to install the floor and 90 more minutes the next day for transitions and shoe moulding he was SHOCKED. He said it should have taken at least 12 hours for two people to install the floor install and even up to 16 hours to complete everything. Not 7 hours total. I talked with Larry again today, and during a heated exchange he arrogantly told me "We are playing by my rules now" he went on to tell me how "impatient" I am. (it's been 2 months since the faulty install happened). Only took 2 weeks to get the original install done from the day I paid them to place the order - getting things replaced has now taken 4X longer with no end in sight but I'm "impatient" AND Larry tells me after the inspector looked things over "it's different than we both thought" (what's DIFFERENT?! You promised me a new floor and now you are backpedaling).

I just received word from my tenant that they had the carpet re-cleaned on March 16th and the cleaner told them that they could not tell that the carpet was cleaned only 2 weeks ago. My suggestion is to use someone else as I have not heard from Kevin and we had to go with another option.
