Oxnard manor is a great facility, I have a relative who is currently at this facility in rehabilitation, their attention to patients/residents is on point seemingly at all times from what I've witnessed. It's a clean & quite facility. The nurses, cnas & quite honestly their entire staff have been nothing short of exceptional as far as communication & attention to detail is concerned. I have & will continue to recommend this facility to my friends & family. read more

Care quality is below standards. In the peak of a heatwave there's no air condition. Terrible communication on behalf of everyone. Impossible to have a meeting with anyone there. You're either waiting and no one shows up or they'll leave before you arrive. No communication on patient progress or discharge information. How is this place still open ? read more

This is my 6 Month Review [Feb., 2024] My last review focused on the CNAs and nurses, and not what really matters; the medical and psychiatric care providers, or lack thereof. There is a lot lacking, medically speaking. It took more than two years before I was able to find a doctor who was able to listen to me, who heard what I was saying and who did something to help me Dr. Falcone (sic) is wonderful to me. My experience with the psychiatrist hasn't been nearly as stellar. Dr. Bartay (sic?) has yet to follow my former psychiatrist's prescribed meds, which is vital for relief of my severe anxiety. However, Oxnard Manor is under new management, so I'm hopeful things could change for the better, in this area. In terms of the nursing staff and CNAs, there have been changes. Frances is here for quality control, and to make sure that patients are given quick attention whenever needed. He listens seriously to all residents' suggestions, and follows up. Some CNAs have quit (I'll miss them so much!), and there are quite a few new ones. The CNAs near 'n' dear to my heart - Pastor, Kathy, Yanet, Rosalina, Elena, Judith and Baleria - are still here, giving lots of love and keeping me clean ! Nurses, Julie, Lisa and Stephanie are here, too. However, Vincent has been off on a well deserved vacation, visiting family and we all miss him SO MUCH! Luckily, he's coming back next month. Oxnard Manor (skilled nursing facilit) is full of the most Caring helpful people ! I visit my friend daily and I'm even welcomed there with her dog . My friend receives wonderful care by the Nurses , CNA's , therapy and all thw staff in general . The home is clean daily , the food prepared by the culinary staff is really good ! the Activities manager is so good at keeping everyone involved and morale up. I'm impressed and everyday I show im greeted with a happy hello and a smile. it's honestly the best SNF I've seen hands down !!! Social services and case management has also been so amazing in ensuring that my friend gets the care and safe living she needs long term! Thank you to everyone at the Oxnard Manor ! If caring help and staff that will listen to the person looking out for their loved one, they do a great job. They have activities for those who are Mobil. The rooms are very small. The food is not even hospital grade. If the most important thing to you is a good staff they fit the bill. read more

This place is wonderful! My dad is 82 had a stroke Parkinson's and he came in for a broken arm and they had taken great care of him! He loves the staff, friendly people and there nice and helpful. Would recommend anybody that needs rehabilitation. You would be in great hands here!!! read more

It's a hard thing to put a loved one in a healthcare facility. Dad was in the hospital, and wasn't well enough to go home, and mom wasn't able to provide the increasing level of care he needed. The hospital told us they had an opening at Oxnard Manor so we were thankful to have a place for dad on short notice. At first we were concerned that dad might not be a good fit, since his dementia had worsened, and he was getting more feeble. The staff at Oxnard Manor listened to our concerns and did everything they could to keep watch over Dad and ease our concerns. If you are looking for a brand new care facility with state of the art amenities and fancy artwork and such, you should look elsewhere. Though the building is older, what you will find at Oxnard Manor are caring individuals who are committed to helping your loved one though a very difficult and stressful time that you and they are going through. There are activities throughout the day, and weekly onsite hair dressers that can be booked. Dad didn't participate in these, so these amenities weren't as important for me when choosing a facility. Francesca the case manager bent over backwards to help me when I needed it in a time of need. It is the people like Francesca, and the nursing staff and nursing assistants, smiling and talking to Dad, and even the smiling receptionists at the front desk that make Oxnard Manor what it is. After awhile I learned the best times to come visit, and the best place to find parking, as the parking for visitors is limited. No matter what time of day I came, I was always greeted with a smile and was happy to see a friendly face. I am thankful Oxnard Manor was available for Dad during his time of need, and I want to thank all of the daring staff for their hard work and dedication. read more

Amended Review: Firstly, every nurse at OxMan is worth MY weight in gold & platinum. That being said, the whipped cream at the top of the sundae is, and will likely always be, the wonderful Vincent! No matter what the problem, he pours himself into your shoes and feels your pain. Next, he proceeds to do whatever necessary to put an end to that pain. THIS is an extraordinary attribute for any nurse ... HECK! It'a an extraordinary quality for any healer. Mother Theresa had nothin' on our Vincent Moretti. He came to work when I knew he had kidney stones and was barely hiding the excruciating pain. He cares more about each and every patient here than what he downplays as his aches from aging. Oops! I've taken up all this room on Vince (of course!). Another couple of favorites: Jemima (pron. Je MEE mah) who calls me ''Mama Teddi''! and has the sunniest smile and disposition, the best hugs, too. Just a ray of sunshine, no matter the hour of day or night. And, Ashleigh is a nurse for whom the word kindness was meant to define. Now, for the Pastor: Or should I say, now for Pastor? That's his name From time to time I do call him my Pastor. I realise how uncomfortable it can be for women to be changed by a male nursing assistant, but Pastor is the most exceptionally perfect balance of spirituality and professionalism, he's the only person I'll allow to help me when I've made a 'Mess'; male or female. Went to visit my aunt experience was great, clean area everyone very friendly. When I came to visit she was in the recreational room she was happy getting her nails done music was playing. Esmeralda was very helpful in telling the activity's they provide Brianna was doing my aunts nails. All staff was great appreciate the attention they provide to make it feel like home. First I would like to state that I was not pleased in the state. The restrooms were dirty and when i went to wash my hand i found there was no paper towels or soap very disappointed and dirty in my opinion this is utter blasphemy. Also the facility had such a foul odor I know it's a nursing home but can we some air fresheners. I will also like to mention the staff seemed clueless and lifeless it seems like a lot of them need to go back to nursing school. This place use to be good. I had one of my family member admitted here last year. And this year my uncle.All I can say is. It's just awful. The service was horrible. There was a couple of times that I came to visit my family member in the evening and there was always a nurses aide always frowning and seemed very rude and un happy very unprofessional. My first impressions were not fantastic since staff was getting ready for a holiday parade. I noticed a broken window blind and scratched paint on the walls. I returned the next day and noticed that the staff was cheerful, courteous and respectful. The RNs were caring, sweet but competent. The CNA's were so kind to Mom. The physical therapists were diligent and went beyond to help Mom move more freely. I realized that Oxnard Manor was a happy place full of people who wanted to help others. I would be hard pressed to say anything positive about this so called Health Care Center. After having Covid and pneumonia I was taken to this place andto taken to emergency at St. Johns in Oxnard where I believe my life was saved. At Oxnard Manor I was never moved from my bed. The staff would say they would be right in to change my diaper, and it would be over two hours before they came in. I could go on and on but I don't have to. For most of the time I was there until the fire dept. took my out my care was documented. I forgot to mention one other thing. They don't have a doctor there. That information was given to the fire dept. when they picked me up. read more

This is honestly the worst place ever. My father was a high risk fall and an alarm system was to be put on his bed and chair. It took a month to do so. He had many scrapes and falls. At one point he Broke his arm and I was not notified. He was treated weeks later. He fell and had a lump on his head. Transport was called and arrived 5 hours later. Why not dial 911? He has a brain bleed and died from his injury. The care here is atrocious. My father was checked on daily. Many times twice a day. His injuries always seemed to happen at night. He only survived 5 months after arriving here. read more

It's not the newest place. Some things may not work correctly. Doors may not open or close easily, water or coffee may be cold. Toilet seat was too low. There is always a lot of food - most is quite good. What they lack in everything, they overwhelmingly make up in service and care. Everyone is always friendly and usually smiling. Staff is polite. Place is clean. Officiant and response IS LACKING. My mother was placed into this establishment by the hospital. She's also indigent with no long term care. She also is in cognitive. Oxnard Manor has tried for 2 mos to presume responsibilities onto myself. * transportation to doctor = poor * medications administrative = poor * discharge of patient/resident = poor * communication of staff = poor Staff does not perform well on the over all care of individual. My cell is not working properly so please overlook the lack of proper punctuation. I wrote a positive review close to two years ago. My mother is still there and has now been a resident at Oxnard Manor for approximately seven closer to eight years. She is obviously cared for well. The Administrator drives up from L.A. frequently to oversee that the facility is being run well. He never leaves without visiting my mother. He is very kind humble and genuine. His name is Steven. He takes the time to have an actual conversation with my mother and has even excused himself from a business meeting to take a phone call from me. He cares that my mother is a long term resident and that she is not ambulatory. She has been in her bed in that one room for nearer to a decade. She NEEDS good care. She NEEDS the special understanding and support that comes from being bedridden for so long with pain. She receives it there at Oxnard Manor. Thank you Steven. Is it always perfect No. Have there been horrible staff Yes. However they do not put up with staff who do not meet the needs of my mother. They talk to my mother and arrange scheduling tailored to her preference and make sure she has staff that makes her happy and that knows how to take care of her needs with dignity professionalism and even fun and laughter that is appropriate and respectful. I must highlight the staffing Director in charge of all hiring and scheduling. He makes sure that my mother has staff on duty that can take care of my mother's physical and emotional needs. Oscar is his name. The outstanding care given toward my mother is attributed to the Director of Nursing who is onsite and oversees the day to day workings of the nursing staff and works directly with the Administrator Steven. She makes certain that everything is running properly. She is so skilled and always available even though her job is enormous. She has gotten back to me over the years like clock work no matter the day or time. She makes certain that if anything begins to go awry which that's life it will unfortunately once in a blue moon but she is ON IT‼ Esmeralda is her name. She is kind and caring. She takes time when she can to go see my mother too. She is highly communicative and very sensitive after all these years of hard work. The staff that have been assigned to direct care for the long term special needs of my mother whom again is confined to that room they are truly phenomenal to say the least‼ Natalie Pastor Araceli Elizabeth Princess Jed Vladimir in no particular order just to name a small few are so skilled empathetic hardworking caring respectful polite they are like a second family. I cannot thank them ALL enough through my grateful tears. Believe me I am not trying to discount anyone's experience that has Yelped to the contrary and I am genuinely so sorry for their experience. I've had them there too of course especially having my loved one there for so long. But with communication everything works out. Truly they WANT to hear from family members my mother and I have been able to share who we are as a family and what we need. As soon as they understood exactly what we want and need from them they have eagerly even lovingly delivered with great care. So believe me bottom line no one has been there at Oxnard Manor longer than my mother and hence us her family. The length of time my mother has been there and not getting out of that bed and being mentally cognizant can go to assure you over your own loved one being there. It IS the place to be. Good nursing homes are very hard to come by. So I know for a fact that the staff in this facility are picked very carefully. The administration definitely knows what they're doing and it shows. They know how to take care of any loved ones and that is the most important thing when trying to choose a nursing home. Oxnard Mannor is a good health care facility place me coming from a young girl very young age I would never expected to be in the situation That I was in a a million years even crossed my mind but me coming from the hospital into Mannor for rehab wasn't bad as I thought it would be the nurses are amazing very carrying .. The CNAS BE ON THERE A GAME very nice and caring girls never had a issue or problem with them what I like was that if you had a problem or a complain they will take action right away and make sure your comfortable and happy there therapy department is really good overall Mannor is a great facility and I would recommend it in general all departments are great and always take care of are needs they go beyond to make sure there patient safety and happiness is there number one goal and priority in another words Mannor is great read more

My dad was there for only 2 days when he had a fall no one came to him till minutes later. I was very piss I drove over there and apparently Imelda the nurse that was suppose to watch my dad did not do her job. She had nothing to say to me. Every time I asked a question she would say I DONT KNOW! I do not recommend this place to anyone unless you want your love one to DIE? The only reason we put our dad there was to get better and boy we were wrong? After my dad got home from the hospital manor was calling and wanted him back? Are they Freaken crazy??? Great service activities are fun and nice love the events and staff make you feel welcome.

I was hit by car while riding my bicycle from school to work. After a lengthy stay in the hospital and then some acute rehab everyone at those places felt that my current residence (a boat) wouldn't be a good place to recover. Thankfully they found this place for me or I would have had to recover at my sisters house in Sacramento which would have made managing my affairs here more difficult. For my level of need I was cared for very well here. You have a call button like in the hospital and a CNA always responded within 3-30 minutes after pushing the button which was better than the hospitals I was in. The nurses help you with medical issues and bring you medication. The PT and OT helped me get back on my feet literally. The food is like hospital food sometimes better. Lunch and dinner are better than breakfast IMO. They make soups and stews from scratch and they are rarely bad and sometimes they are quite tasty. The food is also not as repetitive as the hospitals I stayed in. That said they cook on a budget and I am ready for my own cooking. The building is old and looks it. To deal with this they have full time maintenance who were always were able to fix things in a timely manner. Most of the time I was surprised about how quickly they came and fixed things. I don't have any thing to compare it too but I was glad have a place to come and heal. This facility did a good job. Hey if I had millions of dollars I would have stayed in a hotel and hired a maid and a nurse. For a guy of modest means they took my insurance and got me back on my feet. read more

A close friend of mine died there recently and it was so sad the way he suffered in that awful place. His room was dirty, the call button he had didn't work, his tv was broken and without a remote, there was an air conditioner just outside his room that was unbelievably loud, and he was ignored most of the time! My grandmother was with this facility. The facility lost her glasses and both of her hearing aids. My grandmother also has several rashes and bed sores because the staff never moved her around and didnt take good care of her. After i found out about that we moved her to glenwood, which was amazing! read more

IN REGARDS TO STAFF: 5 stars -the staff is caring, patient, compassionate, kind My mother has been staying there for about three months and I have noticed that the staff is hardworking and cheerful. They are well trained and try their best to meet the needs of demanding patients. They are AMAZING and accommodating. However, the parking is very limited and the area is surrounded by many other businesses and a busy street---not ideal for walking around. read more

This place is complete and utter crap!!!!!!! Do not ever take your loved ones here! The nurses are incompetent, rude and lazy. Especially, the director of nurses. The administrative staff is absolutely absurd! I've had several billing issues here with the business office manager and the social services assistant, Maria, is borderline retarded. She's extremely unclear of what she's trying to say, and literally misinterprets EVERYTHING you try to explain to her. Her English is very, very bad! She seemed very uninterested in anything I had to say, and made it clear that she would be assisting in the business office, as the current business office manager was leaving. Seemed unprofessional to me, and makes me uncomfortable knowing that someone who can BARELY interpret THE SIMPLE concerns I was expressing (even when broken down into layman terms) will be assisting in a very important part of a company. Hopefully, the current business manager isn't training her because, regardless of the amount of time she claimed to be there, she wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed! She also seems to have a hard time understanding simple, second grade English. As for the appearance, the place is (for lack of a better word, yet the only word I see fit) GHETTO and the entire staff is, again, GHETTO! There's also a few homeless people who hang around in the lobby, drink the coffee, and disturb the visitors. The receptionist does absolutely nothing about this, and just sits on her phone the entire time. I don't understand how this place has not been shut down by the state! Maybe, state has been slacking, too. Please! If you love and care for your family, do not take them to live here! Also, I had a friend who worked there that told me it was an extremely stressful environment, so if ever given the opportunity to work here, cut your losses! read more

I wish I could give this place negative stars. If you have a loved one in need of skilled nursing, please do not put them here. The place is dirty and way over crowed. They have 3 patients stuffed into a 2 person room. Staff is il-trained and do not seem to care about the residents. Takes 35-40 minutes for them to answer calls. Equipment like tv's, beds, and bathrooms were not in working order. I saw multiple people left slumped in wheelchairs in the lobby for hours at a time. Please, please, please look elsewhere. Leaving your loved one here may put them at risk. read more

A close friend of mine was sent to the Oxnard Manor Healthcare Center after he got into a motorcycle accident and had to have his leg amputated. He has very little movement in his left arm because the ligaments and tendons in it were torn and he can't get up or move unless someone were to help him into a wheelchair. He also suffered a TBI (traumatic brain injury.) All in all, he has very little mobility on his own. I walked in and didn't know what room he was in. Nobody was at the first desk that I came across. As I walked through the next set of doors, I encountered a nurse and asked if he could help. He asked the name of my friend and when I told him he said I needed to go to another desk to ask where he was at. I then went to the next desk...to no avail. No nurse or staff member was there so I stood there for a good 5-10 minutes while nurses were walking all around me, making eye contact with me and smiling at me yet not one stopped once to ask what I needed. I finally was able to figure out what room he was in, with no help from the nurses, and when I walked in, there were 3 beds with very little wiggle room. Extremely cramped and uncomfortable. He had no trash can in his room and there was days old trash on the table next to his bed. I'm not just talking about candy wrappers, I'm talking about full on meals that were just left on his side table that he said had been there for days. No one came in and threw it away and, like I said, my friend couldn't get out of bed or else he would have thrown it away on his own. I took it upon myself to go ask for someone to bring in a trashcan so I could remove the trash that was piled up on his table. It was very dirty, as if they hadn't cleaned in days, the blinds on the window were all messed up. The thing that got me the most was one of the patients in the room with him had to get his dressing changed. He was an older gentleman and he was getting aggravated with his nurses and told them that they weren't putting it on the way he wanted them to. The nurse laughed at what he said and mocked him telling him he needed to stop. I honestly was so disgusted in the way that the staff in this place handled themselves, it was just not okay. I'm not saying that every person that works there is a terrible employee but, the ones that I encountered were ignorant and didn't seem to know what they were doing. If I could give this place a negative rating I would. I've been in multiple nursing homes due to my grandparents being in and out and I have never come across one more disappointing than this one. And I've been in some pretty disappointing nursing homes. I have high expectations from a facility like this because their patients are supposed to be taken care of, not neglected and not talked down to. A lot of people say, "Nurses have a really hard job and sometimes they need a break." I get that, I totally do but, when it is your job to look after and care for someone else's well being, you need to do that and if you can't handle that then you're in the wrong profession. I've encountered nurses who get pissed off but still keep a good composure and still care immensely for the people that they have to look after. I would not ever put someone that I cared about in this home for the reasons I just listed. I see a lot of people with 4 star ratings and I'm questioning how they thought it was so great. I visited my Uncle recently who is there for rehab. The brief time I was there I observed caring, friendly staff and a clean facility. My Uncle seems to be satisfied with his treatment there and I that's what matters to me. My Aunt goes as often as possible to be with him and to check on him and they are respectful of her, too. If there is a difficult patient, I observed them try to work with the person(s) while maintaining their gentle, caring ways. Kind people! Thank you for helping my dear uncle. read more
