It was latching but not fully closing. Realized this mid errands and panicked and looked for the shop closest to me with the best reviews. I came into B&B Automotive in a panic. The man at the front desk was so kind and promptly asked one of his mechanics to come out and take a look. The mechanic was amazing and kind and messed with the latch a bit and got it to work! He mentioned how it can get rusty and to WD40 it to avoid this in the futures. Quick, easy and so helpful. He agreed and they kept the car. After a few days they called and said it was ready for pick up. He came & got it and the charge was $1,100. An employee drove it around to the front of the dealer for him to take home. The employee said take it home, park it and don't drive it. "Why not drive it?" The employee said it needed a total engine rebuild. "What?" 5 star took the engine apart to diagnose the problem, which they said was a timing chain break which destroyed some of the engine. The $1,100 charge was strictly for a diagnosis not repair. They gave him the impression it was gonna be repaired since they were gonna order the parts it needed. In the beginning they never mentioned this was strictly a diagnosis. Pay attention to the language they use. Who's gonna spend a ton of money for an engine rebuild for a 2017 Hyundai with 140,000 miles?
