I am an avid Yelper, and you can see from my hundreds of reviews that I do not typically leave negative feedback unless I feel it is necessary to WARN others about being taken advantage of. My family and I stayed at Oyster Bay Inn earlier this month for a one-night stay. Upon check-in, we immediately noticed the AC unit in our room was not working properly. We did not raise a complaint at the time, as we are generally easygoing and were only staying briefly. The issue occurred after checkout when we were unfairly questioned regarding damages and our $100 incidental deposit was withheld. We were told the charges were for two "dirty hand towels" and, even more concerning, that we were being held responsible for a supposedly broken AC unit. I spoke directly with the manager, Kate, and found her to be highly unprofessional and unwilling to resolve the matter or return our deposit. To be clear, we are being charged for two hand towels, and also being blamed for an AC unit that was already not functioning properly upon arrival. I also do not understand how a property can reasonably or legally prove that an AC unit malfunction was caused by a guest during a one-night stay, especially when the issue was present at check-in. Overall, the lack of professionalism and the way this situation was handled left a very negative impression. I strongly caution others to document everything thoroughly if you choose to stay here, particularly when it comes to deposits and alleged damages. I would highly advise avoiding this property, and I will be sharing this experience on other review platforms as well. read more

No. No. NO!!! We booked this place because of the price. It was remodeled recently and looks like it could have used a bit more. Our shower mounts were rusty. There was a faint smell of cigarettes in the room upon entering. Gross. There was an option for breakfast. They messed up our order. We also asked for extra blankets both nights and never got them- even though the front desk says they asked housekeeping to bring them. The biggest turn off- and this is out of their control- when you open the sliding window to get a view of the bay, the smell of saltwater and dead fish hit you. I'm also not sure if they have any affiliation with a cannabis store, but an advertisement for one was on their room keys. The staff seemed like they were on it. No rush at all. Staff was distracted doing other things while we were waiting to be helped. Lady was on a personal call instead of helping us then proceeded to walk away to finish the call. The experience check in was also bad, as we were trying to check in the guy behind the desk was having a conversation with another employee, had us standing for 20 minutes. When he was about to help check us in he took a personal call. Overall staff was rude and unwelcoming. There was shouting and banging on doors from some lady saying that "everyone was going to die". While I was trying to sleep. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

Room had all the things needed mostly: coffee maker, fridge, microwave. What was missing was a luggage rack, ironing board and iron. Except w/ the humidity, you could just hang your clothes in the shower & probably turn out wrinkle free. Shower handle was dingy and looked like when turning on, it may fall off. A/C was loud. There were gnats in the bathroom sink upon check in. What was also unexpected were 2 units below me that seemed like it was actually tenants as opposed to guests. Based on one having a gigantic plant pot on their patio, another having a pet carrier, a case of soda, & 2 cats flushed up against their glass door. Still, everyone that I came into contact w/, front desk, housekeeping, the woman that handed me my breakfast to go daily, all were happy to help. I was informed after I checked in that there had been a water main break. I was put in the other building. They had no breakfast and offered no alternatives. The ice machine was broken. There was no hot water in my room. They only offered an apology. read more

I really enjoyed my 3 day stay. This place has charm. The woman who greeted me was a doll & put me in the main building. She explained breakfast deliveries & was fun polite & helpful. I was out on 2nd floor. They have a nice elevator. She explained I was in main building with no pets. This place was a gem. The room was large & The view is amazing. It was spotless but of course I wipe all down as a precaution. I felt so at peace here. Minus the occasional dog walker or family it was all mine. The lake was a dream. I kept my window open to enjoy it. There was no screen on slider so mosquitoes came out. The carpet & furniture is old & soft. The couch beautiful in its day is now stained & needs to be retired. It appears they upgraded to granite on counters. So breakfast was included & a nice treat. It was a full spread. They have you fill out a sheet & put down what you want. The best order was biscuits w gravy. Both piping hot perfection. With potatoes & veggies. Everything Bagel w 2 cream cheese. Peach yoghurt. It fed me the rest of day. Plus. Coffee. Delivered at your choice of time between 7-9. Nice touch. Cleaning staff was friendly & helpful. They clean rooms daily if you allow them. First day I was done 2 hours & left off dnd sign. It was cleaned by the time I returned. They even had bath & bodyworks shampoo conditioner with lotion & lovely bar soap. All very Rare treat these days. There are 2 buildings & plenty of parking in front & back. The 3rd floor in the main building is only floor w access to get down to lake. The lobby is top floor. But you can park down near 3 side door in back & go in & out that way. Overall great price great stay. read more

I would've given a 5-star but the place is a bit run down. The view of the water was Amazing! Bed was comfirtable. The toilet seat was extremely low like for a child. The first morning my husband ordered the omelette with cheese, muffin, yogurt and apple juice. Omelette not so good but the rest was fine. I ordered the and Potatoes with bacon, a muffin and hot chocolate. Both of us would not order this particular breakfast again but the next day was a different story. We both ordered the Waffle, Fluffy Biscuits and gravy with apple juice and milk. This breakfast was way better than the first morning. We would order this again. Best of all they deliver to your room which is so cool. Plenty of parking and local restaurants. We came here to go to the drive-in movie. We will be back. read more

It was shabby, but cheap, and I thought as long as it's clean I can live with it. And it was clean. But there was so much about the room that was just plain stupid. Two queen beds facing opposite directions, so one sleeper couldn't see the television at all. From my bed I faced a large mirror that was sitting on a desk with a large lamp in front of it. Just goofy. It was cold, with two short baseboard heaters, one half hidden behind a heavy couch I moved away from the wall, just in case. No heat in the bathroom , the ceiling heater didn't work. The view was lovely, but climbing up on the bed to draw the curtain was annoying. But the delivered "breakfast in bed" was hilarious. You order the night before and are promised delivery starting at 7 am. At 8:15, I called to inquire. It came to the door in a paper bag, suspiciously cold. Well that was the two containers of milk I didn't order because I don't drink the stuff! The tea wasn't in there, not even a tea bag, and the order form only teased me with the possibility of Spiced Chai tea. The oatmeal was in two packets, without even a bowl to put it in. I thought maybe I could accomplish something with the 6 oz paper cups wrapped in plastic that went with the coffee pot. And don't even get me started on the coffee pot whose filter was so old and clogged that it would only return half of what was poured into the tank. Okay, maybe I'll just microwave some water and make the most of it. But the microwave! It was installed in a stand under the coffee pot and over the mini fridge which I'm sure is what was meant by the kitchenette, and the power cord went through a little hole in the back of the stand, and I couldn't figure out where to plug the damn thing in! So I hauled it out of the kitchenette, pushed the television set out of the way, climbed up onto the headboardless bed, set it on the TV counter and successfully plugged it in . But before the oatmeal I was tempted by the ice cold "raspberry pastry". Maybe warming it up would make it fit for human consumption. I squeezed it out of the cellophane wrapper and balanced it onto one of those 6 oz. paper cups. It turned out just as dense and gummy as you would expect an ice cold cellophane wrapped pastry would be, with no particular flavor except sugar. By then I had lost my enthusiasm for whipping up the wee cup of oatmeal, and decided it would be much more fun to just write a review in bed. The views are so pleasant, it's a shame they don't do just the simple inexpensive things to make the room pleasant, too. read more

I booked through hotels.com NEVER AGAIN The staff at the front desk was respectful unlike their manager who decides to accuse me of scamming when I was expecting the full price of 3 days was gonna be payed in full on my first day there. Due to that miscommunication, I owed them for my remaining two nights and they kept my stuff I left in the room. So respectfully I let them know that I was gonna pay them on my next payday and my account got the remaining amount withdrawn, putting my account into the negatives, so mow im assuming that they received their money and I could come and retrieve my lost and found items but they say that they haven't received payment yet the remaining amount owed was withdrawn for my account and I showed them proof of the bank statement. That's when the manager comes out in a very unprofessional and highly disrespectful tone and assumes that I was trying to scam their company in which that infuriated me because Ive been scammed before and never took from anyone a day I my life. That whole reaction completely shocked me because I've never been accused of this ever. So currently, I have to repay the remaining amount and dip into my savings again!!! When this is over they'll never see me again and whenever I book third-party, I remember to pick the pay online option. After seeing the review here about bedbugs, I made sure to check the bed and am glad I did. The mattress cover had a large yellow "something" on it. The staff did change it and was very nice, but I just can't sleep here comfortably after seeing that. No soap at the lavatory and the carpet is atrocious. No manager on duty to authorize refund. I adore this charming hotel! I admit, I was kinda nervous given some of the reviews... that said my experience was delightful. The staff at check in was lovely, Offered me a warm cookie. The room was clean and well maintained, not the newest nor nicest furniture but for the price I would not expect it to be. The view is beautiful. There were no bugs in the room or the hotel, the room smelled fine. The breakfast was good and better then most continental breakfasts that I have had. The view was stunning. A note - the bathroom seemed to have shorter furniture in it - the tub, toilet and counter all seemed designed for a person a fair bit shorter then me ( I am 5'4"). But not enough that it hindered use ( I still took a bath and it worked fine). Overall I had a delightful stay and highly recommend this hotel. read more

BEDBUGS - BEWARE As a seasoned traveler, I have gotten in the practice of checking the room before unpacking. It's a good thing I did after checking into Oyster Bay. There was a very alarming cluster of insects under the sheets. I immediately grabbed my bag and requested a refund. The front desk was very unhelpful - they insisted that they couldn't refund me (wtf?) and offered to give me another room instead. I'm sorry, aren't bedbugs a SERIOUS problem? I ate the 80 bucks and went to Motel 6 instead. Let me stress that Oyster Bay Inn was quite happy to keep my money over this and would NOT refund me. Unbelievable. Other notes: Checking into Oyster Bay Inn was not seamless, as there was a surprise 100$ hold that was not advertised when purchasing through Priceline. I've never seen a hold that was higher than the price of the room, especially a cheap one. The front desk was extremely apathetic in any case. I'm surprised this is even a 2.5 star hotel; I've been to cheaper 2 star motels way nicer. Oyster bay is dingy and run down but not in a charming way. It makes me wonder if the business is tanking considering how desperate they are to keep your money despite the presence of bedbugs. If you see this page flooded with 5 star reviews, I would be very suspicious of them. Do yourself a favor and check in somewhere else if you need to stay in Bremerton. read more

I had stayed here once before and thought it was a nice little cozy place. After this last visit, i will never stay there again. At check in the lady at the desk was rude and unwelcoming. She kept messing up my name and yelling at me. I just rolled it off as she was having a bad day. Breakfast the next day was biscuits and gravy! This is one of my favorites. As I was headed to the counter to fix my plate, i saw the employee pick up some biscuits that had fallen on the floor and place them back in the pan with the other biscuits. I lost my appetite and left. This place had such great potential but I will stick with the typical places. They are at least more pleasant. read more

I'm not sure which utility room some of the guests stayed in and give it the bad reviews. It's not WYNN or MGM or a 5 star hotel but it's a lot better than some of the hotels I stayed in before. The price of 2 QUEEN beds was $75! AGAIN FOR $75! It can't be beat with fridge and microwave plus free wi-fi, the decor was fine and the front desk staff are very nice. If you're expecting the Hilton, don't come here. If you're looking for a halfway decent place to crash, it'll do nicely. My family and I are staying here for about a month in one of the rooms with a kitchenette, and so far it has been a pleasant stay. Pros: - The staff is friendly and the room is clean. -Housekeeping comes by daily to clean if you need it, change out the towels and refill the toilet paper. - Complementary breakfast! Every morning! When you have kids, this is great. It's nothing fancy, but they have a good variety. - Laundry room. If you are here for an extended stay, it's nice to not have to haul your clothes to a laundromat. While I was here, it was $1.50 for the washer and $1 for the dryer. Cons: - Like most hotels I've been in, I don't entirely trust the cleanliness of the room, but it's probably just because it's slightly outdated. - The smells. The hallway has a faint smell of stale cigarettes. They allow pets, so you get a whiff of wet dog... or other smells ever now and then. -The Internet. They offer free wi-fi, but it sucks. - The bathroom. More specifically, the shower. The temperature changes without warning and I've been caught off guard by both ice cold water and scalding water. This Inn is a great little find. The staff were lovely, the room was clean, and the amenities were great. The room had plenty of storage, a large hotel fridge, and a microwave. There was a little balcony and the perfect size round table in front of the sliding glass door that I could plop my stuff down on and enjoy a meal while looking at the bay. I forgot to pack my toothpaste and they supplied me with a couple packets to get me by. The continental breakfast was pretty tasty too. There's also fresh cookies put out in the lobby every day. They are located in just the right spot. It's easy to get in and out of, and it's close to the highway. But the best part? That view! Absolutely gorgeous. I stayed here for one week and will return the next time I visit. read more

Reserved for non-smoking room. They gave us a room, and they removed the smoking sign to make it appear as though it was non smoking. The room reeked of cigarette smoke. Had to buy an air freshener to cover the smell. The carpet has seen its heyday and needs replacing. The room was dark, needs new paint obviously. Chair upholstery is dirty. Had it not been colored black you'd see how filthy looking it would be. Plus factors are: The lakeside view is amazing. They use Bath and Body for their toiletries. Plenty of wild blackberries in the backyard. Pet friendly. I guess you get what you pay for. Will I stay here again? Definitely not. read more

Hot water is non existent so expect a cold shower. Wifi does not work properly so don't expect to be able to work or access internet at all. Air conditioner is positioned to blow right across you in the night without being able to adjust the airflow, so don't expect to get a good night's sleep. Beds are old and uncomfortable, so don't expect a good rest. And they won't refund you if you choose to leave because their service/facilities are subpar so don't expect to get any kind of value for money or good service or amenities. UPDATE: My boyfriend and I have stayed at Oyster Bay Inn & Suites twice this week, and both times we were unsatisfied with the service we got. Our first stay we were in the third level of the hotel, and we were placed in a smoking/pet friendly room. We enjoyed the samples from Bath and Body Works, and the tub. But, there were huge stains on the carpet, the room smelled awful, and the internet here is basically non-existent. Our second stay this week was even worse. We were placed into a pet friendly room on the lower level of the hotel, with one queen bed. The bed was so insanely creaky it made so much noise every time one of us turned over. The bed had a huge "divet" in the middle, with the lower point being in the middle. It was awful. Neither of us could sleep. The neighbors here and extremely nosy. One woman climbed over the balcony separating our rooms to pet our dog. It is ridiculous. The customer service wasn't great, the woman at the front desk continued to have an attitude with us when checking in. Although we came to this hotel thinking that we were in for a "motel 6" type of vibe, we actually liked this much more! We had a dog with us, so we were in the combination pet/smoking rooms, that was the only downside. The staff was friendly, but unfortunately we didn't wake up in time for breakfast. Dominos is able to deliver right to the door. The room was air conditioned with cute Bath and Body Works samples! The only problem i had was the smell of cigarettes. read more

This place has got to be one of the best kept secrets in Washington State. Yes, it is an older motel, but don't let what you can see of it from Kitsap Way fool you. The rooms are MUCH nicer than the building's exterior suggests. The customer service is exceptional, especially for this part of the world, and the FREE, HOT breakfast served EVERY morning, puts most other motels to shame. I've paid twice as much for much, much less. If your travels take you to Bremerton/Kitsap County the Oyster Bay Inn is the best place to stay. read more

This hotel/motel is a bit outdated, however we enjoyed its charm, our rooms were very clean. We did however have to put a 100$ deposit down for our pet, it's refundable at check out which makes it better! The view from our rooms was amazing!! The staff was very friendly and answered all our questions with out looking annoyed! Rare these days with non-chain hotels! Like I stated before the place could stand a few more improvements but over all it was a very nice place to stay. I will definitely stay again! Oh! And I forgot the breakfast!! It was better then the breakfast we had at a holiday inn! They had waffles you can make yourself! And hot biscuits and gravy, fruit, yogurt, bagels, muffins and much more! THIS HOTEL WAS AWFUL!!!!! Left with what I can only assume is bedbugs.. And when I tried to take the continental breakfast to my diabetic sister back in the room the front desk stopped me and wanted to charge $5.00 for taking food out the front door. Our car was also sideswiped in their parking lot. They certainly weren't at fault, but no apologies or offer of a free night - heck, even a paid dinner would have gone a long way. So now we're considering bringing charges against the hotel since it was the brother of the gal working the front desk. The car was hit so bad it had to be towed. The restaurant view may be phenomenal, but the Inn itself is outdated. The room had a kitchen, which is nice but generally unwanted. The saggy bed and bad decor pretty much made it a non-ideal experience. The last non-smoking room they had had a definite smoky reek. The free continental breakfast was poorly updated, having no coffee or plates. No coffee? ummmmm... There were hotels that looked more skeezy in this neck of the woods, but I wouldn't book here for a good night's sleep. read more

The view here is phenomenal! That alone is worth the price. Food is high quality and the seafood is oohhhllala! Desserts are to write home about!! Atmosphere is roomy, open, and very pleasant. Meeting rooms are available, also. It's nice seeing the chef converse with customers. I get a real sense that he cares whenever I go here. Please do not waste your money here. If you have children at the WYA do not bring them here. If you like the smell of pot ,this is the place for you. There is an incidental fee of a $100 did not know about until I checked in. They lost my reservation. We wanted a room with a kitchen in it because we brought food to make. Not very easy making shepherds pie , and hamburgers in a micro wave. They charged my card twice for the room and the incidental fee. The pet area l stepped in dog poop. If you have kids that are in WYA do not bring them to this hotel, they may get kicked out for smelling like pot. This place does not deserve any stars. read more

I haven't eaten here but if you're looking for a place to get cheap drinks with an excellent view, this is the place. One thing that has always bothered me about Bremerton is that the city does not capitalize on it's awesome views. It's a beautiful city but it's hard to see it from the shadowy streets. The view from the Oyster bar is gorgeous. You don't even feel like you're in Bremerton. I overheard someone saying the Inn is for sale, I guess it's not doing too well, but the drinks were great and the happy hour is decent! Go for it! read more

I don't understand all the great reviews. Yes it's an older hotel. It reeks of cigarettes and dust and mold. The rooms are big, which is nice. The bathroom was clean. The sheets were clean. If you only have $70 and need a place to sleep, go for it but if you can pay $110, go to the Fairfield or any place else. The mold is bad. Everything is dingy. The one great thing is the people that work there. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. I liked the people there a lot! read more

If you are handicapped do not stay here. I had an accident and came here from the Emergency Room. I stayed two nights. When I checked in, I asked if it might be possible for someone to bring breakfast. I could barely walk and was given a room in the auxiliary building. Front desk staff is horrible. Of course they said no to the breakfast. I understand that but it was worth asking. (And there would have been a good tip). After my first night,I decided to stay the second night. They made me come over to sign again for it! Again, I was in terrible pain and wobbly. I'm 65 years old. When I got back to my room, MY KEY CARD DID NOT WORK! I had to walk back to have them reactivate it! I had asked the front desk if they could bring whatever I needed to sign over to me. Again, no. Today, when I checked out, I was loading my van and still had things in the room. After my first trip to the van, MY KEY CARD DID NOT WORK! Ugh! There was a housekeeper there but she was not allowed to let me in! This time, because I now had my van, I drive over to the front desk. I told the gal that I was going to give a bad review because they were certainly unaccommodating. Right then, a lady with an electric wheelchair came in because her key card didn't work! Lost power during a storm and since my 82 yr old dad and Uncle were staying at the house, staying there with no power, water or heat was not an option. Called this place and got 2 rooms. The cost was pretty inexpensive so I was expecting low. It was actually pretty good for the price and the view was priceless, and they also take dogs and my dog is not small. The staff was very pleasant and they were able to put us in rooms that were next to eachother. The rooms were big and had a balcony with nice view of the bay. The dog walk area was clean, large and had doggie bags for use. I was not bothered by any noise. The rooms were not perfect but comfortable. I would recommend this to anyone and if needed, I would definitely repeat. read more

What a great motel! Defintley you get what you pay for. They allow dogs with a pet fee! I had an issue with the hotel next door, they lied about there pet policy. The hotel is in the middle of remodeling. So I will becoming back to stay here for sure. I got an awesome view with my room. read more
