Had such a bad experience across the street at Eatz that we thought we would try to find some culinary redemption. Only a couple of tables seated, three servers and what looked to be a full kitchen staff, but it took f o r e v e r to get our food.... We weren't too hungry, so we only ordered some clam chowder, a couple of different cooked oyster dishes(1/2 dozen each) and some hushpuppies. How hard could that be? Well, when the food finally arrived almost 20 minutes later, the hushpuppies were terrible. Very hard, bad texture. Only ate a few hoping to find a few good ones and gave up. The clam chowder is so bad it really should be taken off the menu. Completely devoid of clams and only a few slivers of what looked like potatoes. The base was more gelatinous goo than the smooth, creamy and rich texture you look for in a good cup of chowder. The steamed oysters, served with garlic butter were tasty, but miniscule. The spinach and artichoke dip oysters were better, and I would order those again. The servers were very nice, just mostly absent. Food took an inordinate amount of time to be served, and what we got was just disappointing. Also insanely overpriced. Not a good value for what shows up on the table...when it finally shows up. Decided to stop here since we were going to see Fantasy in lights near by. Well I'm so glad we did. Our server Mercedes was excellent right off the bat. Very friendly, welcoming and informative. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and helped us make some great choices. The service she provided was outstanding thru out the meal. We had the Raw oysters on the half shell with champagne vinaigrette, cucumber and red onions as an appetizer; they were pretty good. I had the lobster bisque as well, there were no actual lobster pieces in it but the flavor was good; I enjoyed it. I ordered the red snapper with Mac & Cheese and both were absolutely delicious. The Mac & cheese is so delicious I regret not buying extra to take home for left overs. It is worth a drive from Columbus just for that. My husband had the Fried catfish , fried shrimp and hush puppies; he enjoyed it all. This isn't a fancy place; it has more of a diner feel to it. We weren't sure what to expect but they far exceed any expectations we could've had, from the service to the food. Both outstanding. We cannot wait to return and try their Baby bee bucket. Been several years since last visit. Had to wait 30 minutes due to holiday weekend & not much else open in Pine Mountain on Sunday night. That was ok. Seating inside very cramped - so we were ok with being seated outside at a picnic table. Ordered Clam chowder to start with. Had a memory of really good clam chowder, but this was almost a flour gravy with some clam pieces thrown in. We ordered a shrimp basket & a fried oyster basket so we could both have some of each. Shrimp were good . Cole slaw was tasteless in a tiny container ( how much does Cole slaw cost to prepare,really). And for some reason they decided to make the fried oysters extremely spicy . They were great for the first few seconds, then the burn began. The bar was busy . Like so many restaurants nowadays, that's where the attention goes by management. We won't be back. read more

We arrived in the Pine Mountain RV Resort early afternoon and after setting up wanted to grab a "linner" as we call a meal somewhere between lunch and dinner. I ordered the combo with scallops and catfish and hubby got the oysters. All was fried (as we wanted - lots of other choices available) but the batter was light, crispy and everything was super fresh. The cocktail sauce was perfectly zippy with horseradish so that I didn't even need to add more. Hubs tried the Chance IPA by Wild Leap Brewing Company, in LaGrange. It was a perfectly balanced IPA. I generally order a lighter citrus type IPA but tried the Goat Island Blood Orange Berliner Weisse, which was perfect on a super hot middle Georgia day. Try this place if you want fresh seafood prepared with a southern touch. You won't be disappointed. read more

Went there thinking I was going for dinner with the family but my toddler fell asleep on the way there and we had to get takeout instead. The food was delicious and the portions were big. We had the shrimp and lobster mac and cheese and I strongly recommend it! I had the fried oyster 1/2 (which means 6...I guessed it but wanted to make sure) nada was able to get rice instead of fries. The fish and chip 1/2 was bigger than most fish and chips we get back in Montreal.......so if you are not used to American size, 1/2 is usually enough for one person. The only thing is the out door patio where people were eating is where people were smoking too.....so take that as a plus or a minus if you smoke or not. (It was a minus for me). read more

I gave it three stars because it has been a really long time since I went there, so it could have been an off- day for both me and the restaurant and also because everyone I talk to about it says they love the place! Came here expecting it to be good, but I didn't expect is to be this good. My family order half a dozen steamed oysters, lemon pepper mixed with buffalo sauce wings -- some of the best wings I've ever tried. The sauce was tangy with a hint to spice, definitely recommend mixing the two sauces. For my entree, I split the Baby Bee which came with lobster, shrimp, and crab. It was so fresh and the seafood had just the right amount of seasoning. It was so good, I didn't want it to end! Only a step away from Callaway Gardens where I was staying. My daughter and I loved it! The Combo basket with crab and shrimp was very delicious! I really liked that the melted butter had a burner underneath to keep it hot. We also had the fried shrimp and catfish which was really good. Although the appearance is very "small town feel" the food is quite the opposite. We were in a hurry so we opted out of any apps and went straight for the main course. I got the Jr. Bucket and Matt got the lobster mac-n-cheese with a side of fried scallops. Having eaten all over the country I feel like I know good sea food and this was spot on. Even better than many coastal places we have been to. The breading on the scallops was some of the best we have had and the crab/shrimp were cooked to perfection. There is something about pulling a big long piece of steaming crab out of the shell and dipping it into a melted pool of butter that make ones heart leap with joy. The kids had already eaten at the carnival part of Callaway do they just had ice cream topped with amazing chocolate mouse. Speaking of kids. We loved that they had an open air patio where our 1 year old could scream her lungs off with disturbing the rest of the guests. I never doc stars for home town feel so this is 5 stars in my book. My family and I came here on a whim while visiting my mother-in-law while she stayed at the Callaway Gardens resort. The food that we ordered was great and nice portions but one thing that was a disappointment and the reason for coming to this restaurant was that we wanted oysters (hence the name of the restaurant), buuuuttt when we were ready to order the server had said they were all out of oysters.... Also, I think the service could have been a little better. Planning on visiting again in the future to give this place another try and hopefully we'll actually be able to try their oysters. read more

Had a craving for oysters and found this spot on Yelp. This is by no means a fancy restaurant so there is no need for getting dressed up. Lots of families as it was a Sunday afternoon on Mother's Day. The waitress was very sweet and attentive. However we asked her once and another waiter again if we could change the channel on the tv to the NBA playoffs. They both said they'd find the remote and change it but didn't and made no mention of it when passing the table again. Had the fried gator tails...delicious. It was tender, juicy and full of flavor. I also had the steamed oysters. I will say that I'm used to making my own garlic butter sauce and theirs unfortunately was not as flavorful as I anticipated. When you walk in the door of this old "waffle house?", you are pretty much in the waitress station. Nothing fancy about the building. Wait staff are quick and friendly. Prices are high. The clam chowder was very good. House salad was only an iceberg lettuce base salad but the dressing tasted homemade and was very good. Seared ribeye was tender, but just didn't have any flavor. Lobster tail was $12 to add to steak and was only 2 bites and nothing to write home about. Overall it was okay. Cost us $50 for a meal that we shared between 2 people. Probably will not return. Been there done that, but did not buy the T-shirt. read more
