We were asked if we wanted drinks, yes. Then asked if we wanted appetizers, yes. Then asked if we were ready to order, yes but.. They had no tuna or salmon! That is what we came for. Did not tell us what was not available prior to us getting started! Then my friend wanted the street corn as the rest of us were trying to pick something else to eat. The waitress came back and said, we are out of corn! I then looked at the table and said " You guys really want to eat here? Seems like they are out of everything! No, they wanted to stay. So I decided why not try the pork chop, waitress never asked me how I wanted it cooked. It was huge that pork chop. It was so overdone. It was dry as crap. She comes by and ask if everything's OK, I say no the pork chop is way overdone. She just walks away. When I get the bill of over $125, I see that she put in a pork chop well done. So I proceeded to give her a dollar tip and wrote on the receipt as to why. One place I will never ever go back to. It was horrible. When you approach Oyster Shuckers the neighborhood looks like post apocalyptic America. Every house and business in a 300 yard radius is boarded up or destroyed from last Year's hurricanes. But standing proud about 100 yards from shore is a solid concrete pedestal with Oyster Shuckers perched on top a good 8-10 feet above the waterline. 2 handicap parking spaces at the bottom of a gently sloping ramp lead you to the door. Inside the first impression is dive sports bar. The concrete floor has chipped paint and the 15-20 tables are battered and scarred. 10 large screen TV's adorn the walls and 9 large ceiling fans circulate the cool air around 2 long bars that go the entire length of the building. My wing man Gary and I were told to sit anywhere and since the dining room was completely empty at 3:30 on a Friday afternoon we chose a corner booth so Gary could park his walker nearby. Our Waitress Rita followed us to our chosen seats with menus and explained the happy hour specials: Surprisingly inexpensive beer, wine, and flat bread. Every seat at the bar was taken up by locals watching a game, but We weren't there for drinking. We wanted seafood! Started off with 1/2 dozen raw oysters: 3 East Coast, and 3 West Coast. Then added another 1/2 dozen of the larger West Coast Oysters ($25). Rita responded to my request of extra lemons and horseradish with a large portion of both. No skimping there! She also brought out 3 different hot sauces, crackers, and a large supply of extra napkins ( We used em all). Next we tried the Calamari ($15). Lightly breaded and fried just right. No rubberiness. Impressed by the Calamari I also ordered the Octopus Appetizer ($19). One huge tentacle with a subtle sauce, also perfectly grilled and very tasty. Gary ordered the Fried Shrimp Dinner ($18). The shrimp were abundant and nicely done. Hand cut French fried potatoes with the skin on were a nice touch. I opted for the Blackened Shrimp Dinner ($23). 8 large shrimp on 2 skewers seasoned perfectly. No additional sauce or lemon needed. Plus Roasted asparagus spears and French fries. I topped off my meal with an Oyster Shooter ($8). An excellent meal for a $115 + $25 tip for Rita's excellent service (yes, We were her only customers in the dining room but she was diligent). It was worth every penny. I rate the decor and atmosphere 3 stars, the service and food 5 stars. So Oyster Shuckers gets 4 stars. I love this local place- they do some things really well but there's room for improvement. The staff is lovely and friendly, the kitchen was accommodating to a special order, the atmosphere is casual and the music was not too loud. BBQ baked oysters I will definitely order again, raw oysters were large and yummy. Fish and chips was not good, small portion, mushy fries and the fish seemed like a basic frozen filet. Fish tacos were not impressive. We had the margarita which was watery, not good at all. I would stick to beer or wine. I will continue to support this business which is not touristy, which as a local I really appreciate, but I hope they improve. read more

Almost didn't check this place out bc it had less stars then the other restaurants around it and it was empty however the fact that it was empty made me want to go in since I knew it be chill, lol I was so glad we checked it out! Great selection of beers, only only in cans but on tap! The calamari looked different then what I had tried before, but was very fresh and delicious, I liked that it was more breaded then fried. We had the Spinach w mahi salad which was as crisp and delicious and the pesto, ricotta, shrimp flat bread which was so good!!!! Our server was so nice, and attentive! i wish i could give zero stars. the food was horrendous. fish & chips was extremely bland and powdery. the fries were disgusting. the coleslaw was raw cabbage. the oyster were covered in grime & algae and were milky in color. they stunk and tasted awful. mountains dew had a chunk of what i can assume was mold from the drink machine. 80% chance my family gets food poisoning on our vacation bc of this establishment. as a cherry on top - our server was rude even tho we tried to be nice about the terrible experience. she was condescending and became extremely neglectful once she realized we were unhappy. not one apology and check in on how the rest of the food was issued the entire service. read more

Oysters were good. It ends there. Three of us ordered the same thing. Shrimp, scallops, Cod, and fries. Shrimp and Scallops were ok at best. I'm a fish and tartar sauce guy and if the tarter is off it will throw the whole thing off. Let me tell you, the tartar sauce was disgusting. None of could eat it. They say it's a scratch kitchen and that's how the chef likes it. Well let me tell you I would bet 8/10 people DONT like it. How can you mess something so simple up? Breading falling off fried foods, excessively greasy. Interior is new (likely post storm remodel) but lacks ambiance. It's our first time here in a month since our two hurricanes hit our area at St Pete beach. We were delighted to see the Oyster shucker restaurant made it and is open. My husband ordered a blackened chicken breast burger with homemade potato salad and I ordered the Cuban sandwich with fries. I'm not usually fond of potato salad, but HELLO! Mama in the kitchen killed it with her homemade potato salad. My husband's chicken salad was so juicy and delicious, wow. Margarita, meh. Came here for their oysters as I've saw on yelp that that's what they're known for, and they definitely did not disappoint. I caved in to get two dozen oysters. The first batch was a mix, and the second batch was the east coast. I really enjoyed the location, music, and service they provided. We went on a Sunday where they have bottomless mimosas and they did not skip on the alcohol! Will share the word and come back soon!! read more

Great place off the main drag. Good Happy Hour BUT sitting on the deck at dusk, you can bask in the stiff aroma of dumpster that sits between you and the Fisherman's park. Like a bad blind date, order a couple of drinks and make the most of it. $1 oysters during Happy Hour is the best deal. If you like spicy drinks, the jalapeño margarita is HOT and fantastic. Not too sweet and muddled with fresh jalapeños. The pulled pork sandwich was good but the fries were blah. We also ordered a pound of crab legs, with side of Mac n cheese for an up charge. The flatbreads were tasty and enough for a single meal or shared with the table. The corn chowder was good, minus the crab meat for my non-seafood guy. The calamari was tender and good portion for the $7 Wednesdays special price. All appetizers on Wednesdays are $7. Pretty cool spot. We were in the area and decided to stop in for some oysters. It's by the water so it has a pretty nice view. We decided to sit outside for the view. They had gulf oysters, and oysters from the east and west coast. I actually liked the east and west coast oysters better. I also tried their pulled pork flatbread. It wasn't bad at all. I tried the grouper here and it was cooked to perfection. The sauce was a little too sweet for me, but it wasn't bad at all. In all, I had a pretty good experience. This is one of our go to restaurants when we are in the area. We have been coming to this location forever and have seen their transformation over the years from quick bites to upbeat creative cuisine. We love it! You walk up and find yourself in a large dining area with a bar area, (always crowded by locals) to the far left; there is an outdoor with a smaller bar to the far right facing the water. Of course, anything Oysters is good here, one of our favorites is Raw Oysters! Always fresh and refreshing! Their baked oysters and Oyster Po'Boy are not bad either! Among other appetizers enjoyed are Mussells and the newly discovered Philly Cheesesteak Egg rolls! Yummy! Hand-held food we found amazing are all choices of flatbreads.... although the shrimp/ricotta is preferred by me! The grouper, pork and burger sandwiches are enjoyable too! Salads are fresh huge portions always tasty and good as light meals. As entrees, we seriously have enjoyed everything in their changing menu; as of lately we have tried their Grouper dinner, Cajun pasta and Shrimp and Grits! Oh, my!!! This place is shady. Menu prices reflect a 4% cash discount which is not clearly disclosed on the menu. So you are paying more if you plan on paying with card. Service was friendly so I gave a little over 20% tip. They went ahead and added another dollar to the tip. Could've been a mistake from fat fingers. Who knows. The restaurant is hidden so it is very easy to walk pass, we did atleast 3 times. We were seated immediately and our waitress was spot on. The food was good but we have had better oysters and crab dip. Both of us ordered drinks and we were very disappointed in them. They were so strong that we could barely drink them. I ordered a frozen drink and the straw was full of rum and there was rum around the rim so it did not look like it was mixed well. The prices are also not really worth the hype. I don't dislike Oyster Shucker but I probably will try other joints before coming back read more

Decided to try Oyster Shucker for Sunday lunch after a friend had recommended it. We started out with a dozen oysters. Is it me or should the oyster be separated from both the top shell AND the bottom shell ? 1/3 of the oysters were mangled beyond recognition and filled with twigs, grass, grit, shell pieces, etc. You get the idea. We did have a few of the non-mangled oysters which were fresh, tasty and cold. After sending the remaining ones back I was expecting that we would be served another batch. Instead, we were told they had taken them off the check with no offer to replace. This place has "Oyster Shucker" in their business name. How does this happen ??? I ordered the Iceberg salad with blackened shrimp for my entree. Again, a fail. The salad came out as a half head of whole iceberg lettuce. The avocado was old and mushy, the cherry tomatoes were wilted and the bacon looked like it was sitting around for awhile, looking kind of ashen. To top it all off, the blackened shrimp that accompanied it was undercooked and lacked very little flavor. The only redeeming quality was that the beer was nice and cold. My dining partner's 2nd draft was comped because of the oyster debacle. Needless to say, I won't be returning. read more

Wanted to find a place on or near the water for a nice lunch. We have road by This place a few times and decided to give the a try. A little of everything is on the menu so everyone should be able to find something they like. The outdoor seating has great views but can get a little warm as the sunsets in the summer. But hey it is Florida! We started with the SOTD Corn chowder. Really good. I like my potatoes cut a little smaller but the flavor was there. Deb got some buffalo shrimp. There were really good. Lightly beaded with just the right amount of heat. Cooked perfect. For our meal I settled on the mahi tacos blackened. Really good as well. THe lightly grilled flour tortillas were really nice and the fish was cooked really well. Deb has the sliders 3 ways with chicken, beef and shredded pork. All were really good with our fav being the chicken. For a seafood place their burger blend is really top notch. Overall a solid place for a lunch with a view of the gulf. Prices were reasonable but pay attention to what is available for drinks on happy hour to save a little there. read more

We wanted to love this place because their happy hour drinks are amazing and a great deal (I do recommend coming here for drinks!) HOWEVER, we came here for $1 oysters night and wished we had never visited. Our oysters were sitting in the back, ready to be served for oyster night on stones, not ice. When we got them they were warm to the touch.... We had to send them back! I've never eaten an oyster that warm before. The bartender then says, would you like some fresh ones? They are shucking them right now? And we say... uhhhh shouldn't ours have been fresh? SO THEN...... our neighbors sitting next to us order a dozen oysters. I see them come up in the window and server has a clear sauce bottle (usually used for ketchup or whatever) and is spraying clear brine water looking fluid on this dozen of oysters before bringing them to the lady next to us ( ALSO WITHOUT ICE!!). The bartender goes to pick them up and didn't like how much fake oyster fluid was sprayed on them and drains them to the trash can below - my take away from this was that they reserved our warm, old, sent back oysters to the lady next to us and was trying to disguise them as freshly shucked by putting juice on them!!! We were horrified. The lack of food safety issues known by staff of serving ill prepared oysters was horrendous and this place needs to be shut down. They literally sprayed these oysters with water/juice out of a bottle and served them to these people (also not on ice)!! read more

I had a draft Shock Top & my husband had a margarita. They both were at reduced prices because it was still happy hour. We shared an order of buffalo wings. They were good, though not great.
