I've heard lots of good things about Oz. For me it was just ok. Service was good, the restaurant was very clean. They have beer and mixed drinks, so huge plus. I got the Hero tacos, I liked everything but the sauce on it, not sure what kind it was, I just scraped it off and I was able to eat. The beans were delicious but spicy. Everyone in my group enjoyed the meal and it was a good place to sit and visit because it wasn't loud and it is spacious. I would try it again for sure. Especially for the pimento cheese dip, because that made the whole experience even better!! read more

We so wanted Oz BBQ to be a downtown Rogers restaurant option that our family would enjoy going to. It just didn't live up to the expectations we had. The restaurant had good foot traffic for a Saturday night dinner, but they were significantly understaffed. The staff that was available were very nice and worked hard. We first ordered the sausage and cheese plate for an appetizer. Having been to Memphis May times, we thought we knew what to expect. It took a terribly long time to get our appetizer, my spouse had to ask when we would receive it. When the staff brought the sausage & cheese plate, the sausage was stone cold. All bbq sausage & cheese plates we have experienced had cooked warm sausage on the plate. Not this place, they said this was design to be a charcuterie plate, however this is not what is mentioned on the menu. The bbq dry seasoning was not our favorite. The ranch crackers and cheese dip was good. For $21, it was a very expensive appetizer. Our drinks had nice crushed ice, but never had enough of it throughout dinner. We ordered some bbq tacos. I could not tell the difference between the brisket and pork tacos. The queso sauce on each totally cancels out the meat which should be the star. The meat did not have much taste to it. We got one barrio taco which had a overt amount a spice on it that we had to just eat the filling. In the end, we came away feeling disappointed in our dining experience at Oz BBQ. I disagree greatly with the other reviews. We loved it here! They should cut them some slack; This place has been open for a week; one can't expect all to go smoothly. Our food was great, the owner was upfront about being short staffed and was so kind to us apologizing if we had to wait longer than normal. We didn't. We loved the decor, country music, tacos were great, staff is very friendly, and they were completely full for lunch Saturday! We are definitely looking forward to going back; especially for brunch! read more

I was working 10 hours days outside in the heat for an event, really looking forward to lunch break to eat in air conditioned space. Walked into this restaurant holding my almost empty water bottle and got a table. The server came over and told me she had to throw away my water bottle, I said I can put it in my backpack and I did. Then she goes to get her manager who comes over and tells me I have to throw away my water bottle. I told him, I put it away and they said I had to take it out of my backpack for them to throw away. I tried to explain that I'm working the event out in the heat and need it to refill and stay hydrated. They completely disregarded this and still pressed that they must throw it away. At this point I could not give them my business and left. And now was without time to go anywhere else before my lunch break was over. They sat us by the wait staff area in the back, brought the wrong food, and we sent it back. Brought our order about 30 minutes later and it wasn't the best I've had. The ambiance was good, mostly younger crowd, lots of drinks were served so we got to dodge the wait staff. Just make sure you don't sit by the waiters station. read more

Our first visit to OZ. We love how they used to old downtown building to make a nice restaurant. Our service was spot on with no issues. I had the smoked brisket Au Jus and it was very good. My wife had a pork and brisket taco. She liked the brisket a little better than the pork, but both were good. Alcohol prices are a little steep, but the beer was cold. The owner was completely rude to her staff also to her patrons while sitting at the bar with her legs in 2 other chairs drinking. She snapped at her server for talking for a moment at the table. However,this is the email I sent to the business two days ago, and I have not received a response. I wanted to tell you about our visit to your restaurant today. A friend had recommended you to us so we stopped in at around 1:30. There was one person eating at the bar and two other couples at tables. A woman came up and told us to wait while she cleared off a table. After a couple of minutes she seated us. She brought us some water. Then, she never came back. We waited. Another server passed by us going to and from the table behind us . My husband made eye contact with her a few times, and she looked away. The woman who seated us was behind the bar. She was not making drinks. She was not serving anyone. She was putting glasses up on shelves unhurriedly. She looked at her watch a few times. She got on her phone. No one seemed overly busy or rushed. The restaurant was not busy. We got up and walked to the door. The woman behind the bar called out " Bye, thanks!" My husband said, "For what?" and we left. That was the most bizarre bad service I have ever experienced. We were baffled. It made absolutely no sense. I don't know what happened. You should probably figure it out, though. We will not recommend you to our friends. We will not be back. We could have asked someone to please come take our order, but it didn't seem like with so few people we should have been forgotten. read more

There was more than enough staff to accommodate the patrons dining during our visit. We were seated for at least 30 minutes before being given the opportunity to place our orders. The service was disgraceful to the quality of food that was served. Utensils were forgotten, and when we did get them many were plastic as they didn't have enough. Drink refills were not provided until we specifically requested. The alcoholic beverages we received were watered down considering despite the price of $12 for each. We, a party of 5, were seated immediately but remained unaddressed by the wait staff as we watched two other tables seated at a later arrival time be served NOTICEABLY before us. read more
