Do not take your car to this place !!! After many years and multiple vehicles taken to them --- I now realize they are not only overpriced and egocentric but they have no idea what they are doing. Same issues over and over again and it's never their fault and they refuse to take responsibility for their own actions after getting paid handsomely. Their good employees have left and now you're fortunate enough to deal with the incompetent owners son. What a nightmare this place has become! Ask yourself this- why do they only work on older cars ? Because no manufacture will allow them to do warranty work! There is your answer! I have a pretty old car that I brought in for service a number of times and was happy with the repairs. Honestly I felt like every day the car was on the road was a gift. I used to tell everyone I met how great the service was there. I always thought the charges were high, but I chalked it up to having an older foreign car. last month my car would not start so I had it towed to Ozark Imports. I was told I needed a new fuel pump and the total cost would be over $800 with labor. I thought the price was high and did not get the work done, but paid $100 for the diagnosis. I had to get another vehicle, so I shipped the car to my home city to get it looked at. The new mechanic said a hose had slipped and he put it back on and tightened it. In and out with no high charge. after renting cars, using UBer, and being inconvenienced I will say I was quite disappointed. I felt betrayed and can't recommend Ozark Imports anymore. read more

I came in to get an oil leak looked at. They looked at it, called me, and said it was a gasket. I told them to go ahead and fix it. They let my car sit for 3 days before working on it without telling me they weren't going to be able to look at it in that time. I never got a phone call telling me the car was ready or any status update. They kept the car for over a week, charged me 500$ and the issue was still not resolved. When I came back in and told them this they wanted to charge me another 500$ to fix it. I am going to another mechanic. read more

Ozark has worked on all my vehicles for years. Currently they work on my Acura MDX and Toyota Tundra. In the past they have worked on my Honda Accord and Lexus ES 300. They do a great job diagnosing any problem, they only fix what is wrong and I have never had to take a vehicle back to have it "fixed again". They don't try to up sell or sneak in mysterious new problems (like some shops I previously used). They know what they are doing, are honest & when they give you a quote or a time it will be ready they actually were not only cheaper but on time!! They are great for VW Jetti. My family had been a loyal customer for probably 30 years or more. However, since Bob is no longer the owner. Things have gone to crap! I took my vanagon in a little over a year ago for problems getting it into gear. They said I needed a new transmission. $1200 and a 2 months later, the new transmission did not fix the problem. I went to drive away and couldn't get into gear, Reverse.. First... It was worse than before.. They said the vanagon are all tricky to get into gear and I needed a shifter repair kit to fix the problem. However, that's the repair I took it in for in the first place! They were supposed to source the kit for the repair and call me back to schedule me in. They never called. 6 months later I sourced the parts and fixed it myself. Still don't think I needed that transmission. Just recently, I needed some parts worked on and they ended up being my only option after exhausting Goodyear and a couple other shops. All I needed was some parts taken apart and some bushings and wheel bearings removed that I didn't have the tools for. Over a month later, no phone calls on progress. I went by and they hadn't touched them. I picked up my parts and will never ever go there again. read more

my 99 Passat wagon would not start after a dead battery had it towed to shop was told it had a blown fuse took two weeks to fix charged $180 for part $0 for labor received car with new problem, transmission now in limp mode was told they would find problem but needed more time and $$$ I said no thanks. a few days later left key in ignition over night and drained the battery again problem reoccurred frustrated I searched VW forums turns out the starting issue was a common reset of the anti theft system cleared by manipulating the key (a "specialist" should have been able to recognize this in my opinion) in the rear hatch viola car started right up and but transmission still in limp mode searched forums the next day purchased TCM for $25 from junk yard... problem solved. read more
