I'm revising my review from 5 stars down to 3. Later in the day, after the contractor had left, I was taking my recycle bin out to the street for pickup and saw where some water or other fluid was dumped in the gravel of the landscaping we just had done a few months ago. I don't know what chemicals etc. are in the water that was dumped but the fluid was dumped right next to fairly new plants and left an unsightly hole in the gravel. Further, I don't know what if any harm may be done to the new plants. I have ZERO tolerance for contractors who act disrespectfully towards the property where they're working. The place where the water was dumped was just a couple of feet from the driveway. If the water was dumped in the driveway, it would run down to the curb and follow the slope of the street as drainage and NOT risk any harm being done to our new plants. If we notice any adverse changes to our plants, there will be some follow-on activity with P&L. Just careless. I have to admit that I am skeptical of any company that provides "virtual quotes" without seeing the work site for themselves. But they requested a couple of pictures of old water heater installation to assess the job, provided a quote "sight unseen", and did the work with no extra cost added (always a concern with virtual quotes). They were the cheapest of the 3 bids that I got. No long-winded sales pitch that I should install a $5K tankless unit. The tech provided instructions on the annual flushing process. I'm satisfied. I'm hoping that at last I have a go-to plumber. read more

They quoted $500. to fix a pipe. Luckily my nephew was there and shook his head, then thanked them for coming and told them they could go. His dad was on the phone and said it could be done for less than a quarter of that. Sure enough, we called another plumber who fixed it for $100. read more

Kevin & Kyle were absolutely amazing. Had a clogged double sink vanity and they were the 4th plumbing company to come out. They tried and were so persistent and got the drain unclogged. Scheduled an appointment two weeks in advance and was given an arrival window of 8:30-9:30 AM. Unfortunately, there was no call and no show during that time. At 9:30, I finally received a text saying the technician was "on the way." I understand that jobs can run over, but it's common courtesy -- and basic professionalism -- to communicate delays to customers ahead of time. People take time off work and arrange their schedules around these appointments. The complete disregard for my time was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. read more

Best plumbing company ever! I was away from home (naturally) in another state on a work trip when my wife called me in a panic that the water heater had failed. My worthless home warranty company denied my claim (without even sending a plumber to look at it because "leaking" is specifically excluded; even though it wasn't merely "leaking;" it was "gushing water due to catastrophic internal mechanical failure; but, I digress). Kevin had to rework/redo the outside plumbing. The soft water and drip system configuration required replacement partially due to these units failing. Kevin replaced the Pressure Vacuum Breaker, Pressure Reducing Valve, to include the reworked of entire copper piping and connections. Excellent workmanship by both Kevin and Kyle! I have had ongoing plumbing issues in my kitchen with water from the pipe backing up into the sink. A few plumbers would come out, break up the clog and leave. Last year one charged $1400 to "flush the pipe to the street" he was here 15 minutes and left. So when the problem returned this week, I was afraid I'd be out $1000. Enter P&L Plumbing. I hired Kevin when I was updating two bathrooms and building a third (in a large laundry room). Suffice to say I could not have done this project without him. He replaced my main water line, re-piped the water lines in the whole house, and plumbed my laundry room into a third bath! He helped manage the inspections during the process as I was hours away in Tucson. We needed a new tub valve installed for the trim set I selected as part of our bathroom remodel. I was on a tight schedule and our typical go to plumber was weeks out and required an initial consultation home visit to create an estimate and get us on the calendar. Several tub and tub/shower diverterters didn't work in a home we recently purchased. The tech stayed with it figuring out how to disassemble the speciality faucets. He was able to remove corrosion, clean and lubricate the tub shower diverterters so they work like new. He had to research the tub diverter but he did find it and ordered it for us. Fantastic service from Hunter of P & L Plumbing. The stars aligned and Hunter was able to arrive within 30 minutes of when I made the call. I had a leak on my pressure reducing valve that was revealed to have been incorrectly installed by a previous plumber. He talked me through what he diagnosed as the problem and even waited for the glue to dry to insure his work would hold-up under pressure (I had to call the previous plumber back because of leaking). He also replaced the cartridge for the control handle of my guest bath that had become restricted. He was a good communicator and he provided options for me to consider without any pressure. I now understand why so many people give P & L Plumbing 5 starts. They were the 2nd company that came over to diagnose the leak we were having with our upstairs tub. When our daughters took a bath, the leek was so bad that it was coming down like rain in the kitchen. So then I sealed the overflow with duct tape and they then used the shower a couple days later but it did the same thing. The 1st company Lawson Family Plumbing sent a tech. He said he had to cut a hole in the dry wall in the closet that was at the other side of the tub. He advised that the over flow need to be replaced as it was loose and the contractor that installed the tub did not do it correctly. He then tested the tub and ran the water but the leak was not coming from that, so he then told me to look at the side of the tub and see the water stains and that the kids were probably taking their showers with the shower curtin out of the tub. I told him there is no way as they are young adults. He then went on and explained how people do not understand that any water that is spilled from the upstairs floor goes directly downstairs as the floor soaks it in . My wife and I were like absolutely not but whatever he is the expert. So he said he suggests to change the overflow but that the only way to get to it was under the tub and that they needed to cut a hole in the kitchen ceiling. So we said fine please give us the estimate to get it done. They charged us $350 to cut the drywall in the closet and the diagnostic. Their estimate came out to be over $2300 which did not include the price to fix the dryways .Thankfully, P&L had an opening 3 days later so of course we wanted a second option. The brothers ( coolest guys ever BTW ) came over and they looked at everything. They did say that the overflow should be replaced so the Lawson tech did get that correct but also that there was a pipe that was not completely attached and that because of the hair that has collected in the pipe it was causing the water to not completely flow through the other drain pipe and cause the water to flow over. They came back a week later and replaced and fixed the issue and did all the work through the small hole that the Lawson Family tech cut out. P&L did an amazing job at a fraction of the cost that the initial company quoted to fix the problem. I will not go to anyone else but P&L for any plumbing needs. Do yourselves a favor and just use them the 1st time. read more
