This is an update: I've already fixed my own water heater and brought it "up to code". It only needed a gas valve replacement, exactly what I originally told them but they wouldn't listen. Instead, they tried to push me into using my warranty to buy a whole new unit, plus paying them an extra $1,000+, all because they claimed my water heater was "leaking." For the record, I had two plumbers from two different companies come out afterward, and both confirmed there was no leak at all. I ended up installing a powered anode rod myself to handle the hard Arizona water. Total cost was under $300, and everything has been working perfectly for months. I'd call that a win. I was originally under the impression this was a small mom and pop shop, but it seems the company has gotten much bigger and not in a good way. Definitely get a second opinion, guys. read more

I have used Plumb Smart on a couple previous occasions and had no issues. This time I needed a garbage disposal replaced. On their webpage is a promo for $189 total including installation. When the tech came out today he stated the "least expensive unit" he had would run $380.....plus installation. Sorry, but I do not play those games. I'll find another plumber who will do it for a lot less. Already have one quote of $125 for the unit and $150 for installation. Don't use Plumb Smart....I would never recommend them again. read more

Joe, arrived on time, was very personable as he installed both faucets and fixed a rusty pipe. He let us know it might leak, if so call and will come right out. I thought I was getting a reputable company which Scott the tec was a complete jackass, gave me a quote too fix the kitchen facet which was very loose I staple. which is used my tool to fasten it. correctly, and adding a garbage disposal hose add on which my old hose wasnt long enough. I have been a cabinet maker for over 20 years. Never in 20 years have I worked for somebody who says they are a general contractor by the name of Sarah Towe who has belittled their subcontractors to the point of exhaustion. I was asked to go out design build, and install a custom kitchen, two bathrooms and a laundry room in two weeks, which is obviously unheard of, but we got it done in three weeks upon doing the layout they were given a exact precise layout of the wall opening needed which their own framing people were going to frame in the new walls to the layout, specified by the measurements and the drawing I gave them. Upon going to install the cabinets that would've fit perfectly in the opening, they did not because the framing was incorrect. When it was brought to their attention, of course they blamed it on the Cabinet maker, which was me who laid out the wall and measured everything perfectly. Needless to say everything that happened during their job, Sarah, who supposedly was the contractor had to call me and asked me questions on what was needed and how it was supposed to be done which in my book is never the correct way to go about it if you're the general contractor. She was extremely rude extremely demanding which was totally unprofessional. The job was done. It was completed perfectly to the customer satisfaction. We walked it with the customer numerous times not one complaint at the end of the project I requested my final payment of $7500 and I was told by Wayne Decker the owner of the company that I would be. shorted $1000 of my Cabinet tree money due to the wall being the wrong size that was built by their guys not me or my crew. Her people who had a drawing that was looked over by Wayne and Sarah, both and approved and given to their people to create the wall. I have never been shorted or had taken money from my contract or my pay due to the contractors negligence it's a very sad day when the bigger company who needs the small subs has to find a way to take their mistakes out on them and take their money but needless to say this review will stay up and I'm sure there will be others as my guys who did most of the work will get shorted for their pay as well due to the deductions made by plum smart, who is supposedly a Remodeling contractor lesson learned an expensive one read more

I called yesterday at 6:30 AM due to a water leak. Technician Chase Foster was at my home by 8:00 AM. After a comprehensive inspection of my upstairs bathrooms, he determined the leak was caused by failed grout in the Master BR shower. No plumbing leaks found. No charge for his time and inspection. Had a backup and called them to fix it, they charged me $225 for a camera inspection and said everything we fine. I called them back the next day because the backup happened again, tho not as bad. They came back, did another camera inspection and said I had major problems. They were correct this time. I called Zippity Split Plumbing for a second opinion; they diagnosed the problem right away with a camera (for no charge). I had 3 plumbing companies give me quotes on replacing an outdoor sump pump (1/3 HP) and they were the most expensive by far. Their quote was $1,851.55 which was 34% higher than the next company. I called them to inspect my 15-year-old mini split AC unit, which was having some issues. The technician recommended replacing the fan motor, assuring me that this would solve the problem. Trusting their expertise, I agreed to the replacement. However, shortly after the motor was replaced, the fan blade went out, causing the unit to fail again. This misinformation led to additional costs for a further repair that could have been anticipated or prevented with a more thorough initial inspection. This experience was both frustrating and inconvenient. I had to endure additional downtime without a functioning AC and incurred extra costs that were not initially disclosed. Despite reaching out to the company for a resolution, I found their response unsatisfactory. Overall, I am very disappointed and disheartened with the service and the lack of accurate information provided. I would HIGHLY caution others to seek a second opinion before agreeing to major repairs with Plumbsmart. They need to improve their diagnostic procedures and communication to prevent similar issues for future customers. At this point, I have no alternative but to contact the ROC, the media, and to get my attorneys involved. Cost was a lot less than a major competitor that advertised on tv. Jeremy, our project manager, was super. He came back out promptly to correct a couple of minor plumbing issues before drywall was replaced. My positive review is primarily for Bridges, the young man that replaced all the drywall. He was always timely, advised us on how long things would take, cleaned up any mess he created and did meticulous work! He is an asset to your company. read more

PlumbSmart is by far the worst company I've ever had the misfortune of using. We had them come out and check on our dripping AC unit back in March 2023. The technician that quoted us on repair and replacement prices, Thomas, was nice and knowledgeable. We decided to replace the entire unit and heating elements and scheduled the day and time. That's when everything went downhill. They came to replace the AC unit and it seemed to go fine- until 2 days later when the AC unit started to leak again. So we called them and they came out again and fixed the problem. And then everything was fine for a few more days until it started to leak for the second time. A Technician came out again and was able to actually fix the issue (only after drilling into our wooden trim). After that we didn't have problems with leaking. That's when the next problem started. They said we needed a new AC vent cover, as we were in a condo with a unit in the ceiling. So they measured everything and told us they would need to custom order the cover and that it would take a couple weeks to get that in, and that they would call us when it was ready. Flash forward 2 months and still no call. My husband reached out multiple times to inquire about it was was told again and again that it was almost ready or that there was a delay. After 5 months of this I called them to ask about it and they lied and told me they had actually just called my husband about it, when he had no record of any calls from them that entire month. After thay they let us know they'd need to come and remeasure, even though they'd already done so twice. So they came and went and scheduled a time to put in the cover. They came back with their cover a week or 2 later and it wouldn't fit. So they remeasured. And they rescheduled. And they came back. And their custom cover still would not fit. So they left again, only after breaking the old vent cover and cutting an unnecessary hole in our drywall. Finally my husband let them know we just wanted a refund for the amount we paid for the cover and that we would get it done somewhere else. That is when their manager, Brandon, got ahold of us and apologized and said they wanted to make it right, so we'd get that discount plus another for how terrible they'd been and they'd also fix the vent. Sounded promising. A technician came by again and somehow installed a vent that fit. He was about to leave when I asked about the large gap of drywall that had been cut out between the vent and the wall (about 3"x18"). He asked me 'what about it?' and I asked him when he was going to fix it, because it obviously couldn't be left like that. He shrugged and told me he couldn't do anything about it and I should just call in or something. Then he left and I saw the giant mess he had left on the ground and hadn't cleaned up. Again, we called the office and they sent me to a different part of their office where they dealt with stuff like that and they came out and fixed it. That part was fine. At that point we were just waiting to hear back from the manager regarding the discount. This might come as a giant shock, but he stopped answering my husband's calls or texts. So almost a year after the fact everything is still not resolved. What reminded me to write this review was that now that it is getting cold we started to use our new heater. Imagine our surprise when it started having the same issues as the old one that the technician said they replaced. They were able to fix that issue the next day, which has us wondering if the heater even needed to be entirely replaced. So, if you do decide to go with PlumbSmart to do any work for you make sure you have their year long warranty because you'll probably need to use it liberally. And make sure to be home the entire day that they say they might come, because they love to come an hour early or 3 hours late with no notice. Oh and special shout-out to technicians Caden and Matthew, those two are the incredibly incompetent ones who repeatedly messed everything up. I'm shocked at just how terrible of a job they did. read more

He was super nice and did a great job. I'd for sure recommend them for plumbing needs. Ask for Derek. The only thing I didn't like is they cold called me and tried to sell me an air conditioner unit. These guys are horribly over-priced. They did get out there to service very quickly. I just has an issue with a small pipe that needed to be replaced outside and an issue with my toilet leaking. There was also an issue with one of my faucets. They said they could fix the pipe for $550, and the toilet for $165, but couldn't do anything with the faucet because "faucets are dicey". Um, you're a plumber buddy, faucets is up your alley. Anyway, after that wild quote, I asked him how much of that was parts, his answer "I don't know we don't keep track of that". Definitely a lie, but if he were to tell me how much was parts, I would know I was getting billed at the rate of about $400+ an hour. I was like, OK, well that's a pretty wildly high price, can you do any better. To which he said, yes, and dropped it to $500 and $130. Anyway, long and the short of it is, I had another plumber come over and check it out and he was able to fix the whole thing for $175. These guys are a scam, they prey on people who don't know what things cost, run and hide from them. Absolutely one of the worst experiences I have ever had. In Jan 2023 I had Plumbsmart replace my 20+ year old heat pump with a Trane heat pump. That summer, when I started using it, problems arose immediately. The system kept cycling every 3 or so minutes and my electric bill had not gone down from the $300 a month I was paying with the 20+ year old system and in some cases, it had even increased. I called them to ask why this could be happening, they came out, assessed the system, said it was a faulty thermostat and they replaced it with an exact model of initial one, which was NOT a smart thermostat btw but the problem persisted. it's winter time now and I don't use the system at all in the winter so I let things be and crossed my fingers. Now we are in 2024 summer and this problem is back. Electric bills are out of control (this is a 1200 sq ft house with all new windows and doors), the system is cycling every few minutes and then it just starts blowing hot air into my house. Again, they're called out, they said it was some faulty valve or something and it had to be replaced. during this time I buy a smart thermostat and tried to install it but it wasn't working for some reason. when they came out to install the "faulty" valve, I asked them why the smart thermostat wouldn't work. They wanted to charge me something asinine like $185 to install the thermostat. I declined, said that's ridiculous as they should have installed a smart thermostat to begin with - they check the super primitive thermostat that they installed and all looked fine.... to them. Then I go on a 10-day trip in September 2024 and come to home to find my house over 100 degrees inside. The system had failed, yet again, and was blowing hot air into my house and since I was on vacation, I had no idea it was happening or for how long. Had I had a smart thermostat, I could have checked on it and perhaps turned the system off while I was away. It was so hot inside my house that my shampoo and conditioner bottles exploded in my shower and all my chocolate morsels for baking melted into bars not to mention my candles are melted and my plants are dead!! I was out of my body angry. Called them again, they come out, said something had frozen in the heat pump, tech went up to the roof and started LITERALLY banging on the heat pump - I recorded it! Then they flushed the refrigerant and replaced it with new. I brought up the thermostat issue, again, and then they finally went to the roof to find that they had not connected the wire at the unit to allow a smart thermostat to work when they initially installed the heat pump. seriously?? they "forgot" to hook that wire up yet, wanted to charge me to install my smart thermostat? completely suspect to me - sounds like it's a way for them to snake more money from consumers but, they fix that problem and installed my smart thermostat - at no extra cost. damn right no extra cost. Now we are in 2025 and my system AGAIN fails on 8/7/2025 blowing hot air measured at 107 degrees into my house. I am absolutely livid at this point. Reached out to Trane and they're useless except for the fact that they told me to find another certified HVAC company from their website and call them for help. So, I did. I found Reliance Heat and Air and they were at my house by 9a on Friday 8/8/2025. The tech they sent to my house couldn't have been more than 30 years old and inside of 2 minutes in my house, he identified the problem... the thermostat that Plumbmart installed, my smart thermostat, was loose from the wall and every time he pressed on it, the reverse valve would kick over causing the system to flip from cool to heat. So every time I walked by the thermostat and decided to change the degrees manually instead of from the app, I was inadvertently and unknowingly causing the system to flip from cool to heat not to mention it would just happen randomly on its own as evident from September 2024 but on 8/7/2025, I actually manually changed the degrees from the thermostat itself which caused the cool to flip to heat. The issues that were happening were because there was a faulty wire behind the thermostat. Something so small that should have been identified by Plumbsmart in any of the 10 times they had to come out to my house yet, it was never diagnosed. are you fkn kidding me?? for the past 2.5 years the problem was a cracked wire that this kid identified in 2 minutes by just noticing the thermostat was not sitting flush against the wall which prompted him to push on it a little to be able to hear that the push was causing the system to flip the reversing valve?? All this to say, stay far away from Plumbsmart when it comes to your heating and air and definitely give Reliance a call. The Plumbsmart techs should go take lessons from Reliance. seriously. read more

I first called Plumbsmart when my AC was not keeping the house cool enough. This was August 2023, on a Sunday, and they were able to come out the next day if I remember correctly. I was surprised at how quickly they were able to come out because the other guys said it would be 2 weeks before they could come out. They fixed the AC. I think it was the coils that needed attention. I was quite happy with the service and the price was reasonable. I called back to have them look at my 2 slow draining bathroom sinks. That was an easy fix at under $100.00. I will call them for future plumbing issues and expect to see them again in September for the AC. The service arrived and looked at the job. He presented me with a cost of $569.00. For this service. He stated it was only a 45 min job. So, we discovered the original cold air return ducting in our house was originally some kind of foil lined cardboard. After almost 50 years, it had completely disintegrated. Needed to be replaced. PlumbSmart gave us the best quote for the job. THEN we ran into several problems, not the least of which was a steel beam directly below the furname that made installation of new ductwork very difficult. Three trips out, a plumber to move water lines, and a custom built plenum later, and the job was done. And it was done well, no short cuts, no half-assed work to cut corners to try to recoup some the added expense. And they charged the original quote amount. No extras, didn't try to jack up the price after the fact, no rationalizing how the extra work was going to cost more. Just quality work, for the reasonable amount they quoted. Which was half of the next lowest quote, by the way. We will be recommending them to everyone we know without reservation. read more

I hired Plumbsmart for plumbing issue and the plumber, Erik was phenomenal. we then hired their handyman team to help us finish our bathroom they quoted us one thing. because we decided we will just get the shower done than rest another time . so they gave us a quote for just t be shower and we paid it in full. well he did half of what was excepted and never came back to finish. We are a household of 4 seniors age 60-89. We had a local power outage in mid July that caused a surge when the power came back on. When other power returned we had no AC. This was on a Friday. After calling a few places plumb smart gave the soonest time of the following Tuesday. When they arrived and pulled the electric panel and found the fuse had burnt. Charging us $89 just for showing up and saying they would be calling me for an appointment with electrician. When they did not 2 housemates changed out the fuse and wire. We got their electrician to check the work on Wednesday when unit still didn't turn on. Thursday they were back out and told us the unit was frozen up, so there must be a leak. They would send out their top technician to put in a dye to find the leak at $745 because he didn't want to put in the stop leak stuff because this could ruin the unit. The next guy that came out convinced my husband that the dye didn't show the leak so and stop leak stuff was necessary and was all included in the $745 I had already paid them in advance. This was my first clue they were not on the up and up. I had already been charged for the sealant the first guy that said i shouldn't use it unless absolutely necessary. As it could clog the unit and cause us to be forced to buy a new unit. Then they put in 5 units of coolant and sending me a picture of meter reading of 410. Long story short. It could cost $4000 to repair. Or i could just replace it. He also sent me 2 replacement unit cost of $10k-$15k. Stating the seal could last 10 hours or 10 months. When this story was told to a neighbor they had another company come see what plumb smart had done. When they took a meter reading it was 550. This company suggested i have PS remove all of the 5 units of unneeded coolant as that was going to make my 8 yr old AC unit work way too hard. He said that my unit had been misdiagnosed. I called and Eric from PS did come back out and remove the 5 units saying he didn't know what had happened. I called Sarah the next day. They were going to refund the coolant cost only of $420. That's when i was told that 300 of what i had paid 2 days in advance was the sealant that they supposedly were going to try not to use. She did end up giving an additional $100 refund after i stated i would never use them again. I just feel they were trying to intimidate us into buying a new unit, taking advantage of a bunch of seniors. I don't want to think they would sabotage our unit but it seems that way when they put in a sealant when they didn't even have proof of a leak and then causing my unit to over work by putting in Way Too Much coolant, Plus someone switched the fan to low on the roof making it feel like it wasn't putting out enough air. read more
