Their trucks are a ubiquitous presence in the neighborhoods and highways. We've been dealing with Rymes since we bought our home three years ago. We're highly satisfied with their service both propane and also customer orientation. The automatic delivery system frees us from having to constantly check on our propane - even though I am cognizant of the level just because I'm obsessed with preparedness and I start calling when the level goes below 40% (the same propane tank powers the standby whole-house generator so a good supply is necessary). I gather they've got used to my consternation and the tank seldom goes below 50% before I have a tanker pulling to the house. Rymes offers convenient payment plans, whether market rate, fixed rate, graduated, etc. Some are clear winners if the price remains stable or decreases, some grant peace of mind against fluctuating prices during the Winter. Something for everyone. We most recently purchased a new water heater as replacement for our old one. Dealing with Jeff in the pricing, purchase and installation has been a pleasure. Wholeheartedly recommended.

So as a widower whose wife used to handle the utilities I feel really taken advantage of by Eastern…read morePropane. I hate bills so I did a pre-buy in June for 2.05, paid in full. Then in July the association got an offer of 1.94 on a prebuy from Eastern. Since I had not signed the original contract they honored the price, but were really vague about how the credit would be applied and refused to mail me a check for the difference. If Mr Clement and Eastern need my $102 that bad u feel sorry for them. BUT IT GETS BETTER..,actually worse. Dead River approaches the association and offers 1.79 a gallon. This is a warning to read the prebuy contract(who does really)with Eastern. In a rude way I was told you're locked in...nothing we can do. Plus "we don't know how Dead River is doing it. Really. Either Dead River is a much smarter more efficient company, or Eastern essentially said too bad dummy. Great way to build a customer base. BUT WAIT I said that I wasn't feeling very warm and fuzzy with Eastern so I asked what happens if there is a balance at the end of the season. Now bare in mind I had already told the girl I would no longer be a customer next year. She said we will apply it to next year, but if I insisted they charge a .50 per gallon fee. So something I paid for gets docked for what? Greed I guess. So stay away from Eastern, cash...not the customer...is king.

This is a buyer beware. We have two large propane tanks. The only item we run off those propane…read moretanks as our generator. I was billed on January 16 for $758 because they filled both tanks then I get a bill today for $320 I know they haven't been back to refill so when I called it's because I didn't meet the quota of 190 gallons in the previous year so they pick a random number and charge you that, when I called she said it's in your contract which by the way I got in 2014. She sent the contract to me nowhere in there does it say specifically how many gallons you need to get per size of your tank per year to avoid this number that they pick out of the blue because that's also not written down in the contract. So beware they can pick numbers whatever numbers they want because they don't have a chart that says if your tank is this much, you must fill this much to avoid the rental charge. It's a really shitty company to deal with they just give you nothing but the OK sorry ma'am sorry ma'am, and they try to say that it's in their contract and their contract is so obtuse. It makes no sense! if you are considering getting a propane company make sure you ask about their rental fee if you don't get enough gallons. they don't know what they're talking about and they can't give you a concrete number don't use Eastern propane you'll be sorry.

Absolutely the worst company my wife and I have ever done business with. At the beginning of…read moreOctober they cam to our residence to install a 500# propane tank. They also ran 2 propane lines. One for our home and one for our generator. A couple days later they filled the tank. They informed us that they would not be able to make connections to the house or generator until November 13 as they had a full schedule. Today November 13. They show up and hook the propane to the house but did not connect the generator. I called the office to find out what was happening as they knew that they ran 2 lines. The office informs me that they needed to get a couple parts and the soonest they could return was mid January. Needless to say. We will be getting a new propane company that is competent I don't recommend Dead River to anyone that has to deal with the Bristol NH office.

On may 12th was quoted and paid for propane tank install and delivery by Dead River company. Here…read moreit is July 1st after 3 tech visits and still no propane and now without any hot water. I spoke to Jason who was helpful in person and was going to try and get the current price which was now over $750 (before yet another technician visit) down to the price I was originally quoted. Biggest issue was every time a technician came out they wanted one more thing done so had to schedule a time to come back and do a little more. Spoke to Jason in person and was told the unit only needed to be fired to adjust the regulator. Advised him the unit could be fired and that if anything else was needed I was 20 minutes away and would come back and do what was needed. Well tech showed up checked gas lines again (3rd time now twice by dead river and once by local fire dept.) advised the unit was not plumbed into the house. Explained that I could not plumb it into the house yet as I currently have an oil furnace and to switch over before I had propane would leave me and my 8 month old daughter without water. Explained clearly he could either use the isolation valve on the unit itself or I installed a ball valve on the hot water side and he could use that to generate flow to fire the boiler. Tech seemed to be fine with the process. Received a call from Jason over an hour after I had spoken with the Tech. Jason was now advising they wouldn't fire the system unless the unit was plumber into the house. I explained to him the same that it would leave me without water. Jason wasn't concerned, advised to call when it was set up and they would get out here. But wait there's more. Now they need to see a combustion analysis for the boiler (yet another step, after I specifically asked Jason if there was anything else they needed today besides to fire the boiler, and I was told no.) So July 1st rolls around. I take a day off of work and plumb the new boiler into the house, and buy a manometer to conduct a combustion analysis test. I call Jason and advise it's all set, now he has an attitude on the phone stating they came out yesterday and nothing was done and now I would have to wait until "sometime next week" I outright told him that he was told yesterday if I plumbed the new boiler into the house it would leave me without hot water, and he made no mention that I would be a week before he could have another technician come out. Then I was advised I needed to talk with someone else and that he (Jason) was in a meeting. So now I'm coming into a Holiday weekend. Out $1000, still have no propane to my house, have no hot water, have an 8 month old daughter, I have to drive 25 min to bring her to take a bath and the remedy is "they can be out sometime next week". Well that's unacceptable to me and I would rather go through the hassle of not having any hot water and wait for another company to have the availability to do a job they could have had done a month ago then put another dime in their pocket. Worst customer service and professionalism I have seen in a long time. I would suggest you go with anyone else besides Dead River for any of your home heating needs because they obviously have very little care or concern for their paying customers.
