P&S replaced my existing driveway. One of the most important aspects of asphalt driveways is the base. This is the layer of aggregates (gravel) that the asphalt lays on. The estimate I received indicated P&S Paving will apply "a maximum of 4 inches". I was OK with a 4" base, and accepted the proposal. To my dismay, they did not apply ANY gravel, which is technically in compliance with the contract since it stated a MAXIMUM of 4" gravel, and 0" IS less than 4". P&S attempted to ease my concern by stating that I have a 2 year warrantee, if there are cracks they will repair it - 2years!. A new driveway should last more than 2 years before repairs are required! So without a decent base what am I expecting? This is the scenario: In winter time, since asphalt is not water proof, water will seep into the ground. If it rains enough, the ground under the asphalt will saturate, trapping water between the ground and asphalt. The temperature will drop and that trapped water will freeze and the driveway will heave. This will repeat until cracks form. I found P&S Paving to be evasive and less than truthful in my dealings with them. If you're doing a driveway, have them specifically state a minimum depth of gravel that will be provided, read more

I was very unhappy with P&S Paving for my driveway project. I was told I just needed to fill out the paperwork and the job would be done a month after. Once the paperwork was submitted there were frequent delays in completing the agreed upon job despite multiple calls so that 4 months later it still wasn't fully completed. Received proposal, scheduled driveway install 4 weeks out. Office calls me 2 weeks prior to schedule another week later. 3 days before rescheduled date, rude office woman calls to cancel. "We are backed up and not sure when we can get to your job... maybe next week, but I'm not sure" After waiting yet another 2 weeks and 3 voicemails later , we had to scramble to find another company. Reached out to Joe in late summer, got a quick response for an estimate. Very professional and responsive at first. Contract was signed and project was scheduled for late November, it didn't start. After several emails and calls inquiring about a new start date we get an abrupt voice message from Lena saying that they have a lot of work and that the dates were being pushed out. No firm start date, reached out again and were told we'd get a phone call the day before work commenced. With no notice at all, they showed up and started the project, no communication. Job completed, it looks pretty good but I had a couple questions for Joe, left half a dozen phone messages and have yet to hear back. Initially we felt very good about P&S, they are competitively priced with others, but now regret having gone with them because of a lack of customer service... I wouldn't recommend them, I'll be looking for another paver when resurfacing or other projects arise. read more

Horrible company. Covered my old drain (that worked!) and put in a new drain that causes my driveway to flood. Rude and defamatory on the phone. Despite my two-year warranty, they will not remedy the problem. I posted three videos on my Facebook town page. Many people reported they did the same to them. Terrible experience dealing with P&S on a project two years ago when we put in a new heated driveway. Today (two years later) we have cracks and surface pitting throughout. I contacted P&S just two days after the job was finished to complain and they've never called back. We also dealt with multiple delays and last minute cancellations by the P&S office - so much so that our original paving date of Aug 20th ended up finally getting done on Dec 1st - the day their asphalt plant shut down for the winter. read more

i had P & S fill cracks in my driveway and seal it. They did not fill the cracks to the top they are about a half inch deep still. A representative of the company said the fill had "settled"). This is not true, they were never filled to the top. He told my wife to call if we were not satisfied. I called and the woman on the phone told me the cracks were not filled because "some cracks are deeper than others". Not a company I will ever use again or recommend. I used them because they filled cracks in my next-door neighbors driveway about 8 years ago. Those cracks are still filled to the top and look good. Old driveway (55+ yrs) was crumbling. P&S came in, removed old driveway, leveled and added gravel to provide stronger base and came in with 3" asphalt on top. Took 2 visits across 4 days due to work load but I could use driveway in the meantime. Guys where professional and quick. Driveway looks fine (only a few months old but holding up, no cracks). I expect driveway to hold up as good as any other driveway company could have installled. I hope my land is stable and drains well so that I get another 55 years out of it. read more

Two bad experiences with P&S. The first was 4 years ago. They did my driveway after I agreed to the $8,000 estimate. The first day my wife called me at work and said one of the P&S workers went behind our garage with a roll of shop towels under his arm and was back there for 20 minutes. When I got home that evening I went back to see what damage this idiot did to my lawn. There was a MASSIVE pile _hit and about a dozen used shop towels spread around the disgusting heap. I immediately phoned the owned and he said he would have it cleaned up immediately. The next evening the pile was still there.... I was so pissed that I called hime and said I was taking $500 off every day that that mess was there. He again apologized and it another day for the idiot to come back on a very rainy night and clean his mess. I took $1,000 off my payment and they called complaining. I gave them my lawyers name and number. The worst part is that there were two young children living next door and their playscape was very close to where this happened. The next incident was today. I was driving down a fairly busy side street and as I cam around a sharp turn there was a P&S truck blocking the entire street. I waited patiently for a few minutes and finally gestured to the 7 P&S guys there that I wanted to pass and they ignored me so I had to turn around and find an alternate way to my kid's school. after paving our driveway a couple years ago, they came last year to seal coat it. The coating didn't even last a year. It's basically peeling off. I called them and they said sorry but they can re coat it for the same price - so i'm basically out $400. there are also 3 long cracks in the driveway that need to be repaired but i'm certainly not ever calling them back - find a better contractor. read more
