We found P.C. Richards by accident. We are very happy we did as we were able to find a new refrigerator. The sales person we worked with Bob Kolber, was so helpful, kind and listened to what we were looking for. Bob, explained and answered all of our questions about the fridge, the warranty even the haul away information. If we are ever looking for any appliances, I hope Bob still works there so we can do business with him. I am sure the other team members are good but, I will ask for Bob. It is from the Mattress company, which you will be dealing with, and they got some dumbass requirements that it has to sag a minimum of 1.5 inches or deeper to even be considered for warranty approval??? Purchased 2500$ extra firm mattress with a 10-years warranty only to have the mattress sag in 3-years, causing excruciating back and neck pain. Waking up with numbness to both arms and sciatica. Reference :Invoice#58-1220872-1,I ordered Dishwasher and Washing machine for my house in Piscataway where they had to deliver new,haul away the old ones and do installation.The price agreed was 1600$ with manager and sales person named Jerome Antonio and I together,the amount adding up was $1773.31.I paid by credit card and the salesperson wrote balance due of 173.31 They could not do installation of dishwasher due to leaking plumbing.Did not haul away old dishwasher and did not install.So I called to ask them to refund me the money for installation and hauling away. Out of $1600 that I had paid agreed also included extended warranty of $129.99 plus $169.99 which I cancelled. They refunded me total amount of $431.58.This refund amount includes the cancelled warranty($319.85) and one refund of $51.63 and second for $60.00.But still the installation charges of 219$ are not completeley paid. I called and the manager was yelling at me.(some salesmanship) I noticed they intentionally even after agreeing to a price leave some amount as unpaid though after agreeing to a price ,after paying it nothing should remain unpaid. second they did not pay me completely installation fees though the service was not done.It comes to around 91dollars and 42 cents. with this expereince, certainly there is no integrity and no reliability. I bought a tv from them recently and had issues with the installation. Was getting nowhere with the so-called managers. Tonight, however, the Store manager, Michael called and straightened everything out and couldn't be nicer Update on my review! Don't buy from the P.C. RICHARDs store in Jersey City! The store manager who promised me that they would fix my installation, which I paid $209 extra for, by the way - not wall mounted, I also bought a Sanus stand from them for $139 which I found on Amazon later for $39. 2 guys came, unpacked the tv, put on the stand, said I needed a hdmi converter in order to hook up my vcr (that I only use for exercise cd's) and said I needed an hdmi cable for my tv and left. I had a Comcast cable tech appointment 2 days later to deal with my WiFi modem issues and the cable tech hooked everything up so I could watch my brand new Samsung 43" tv and made everything work with my 1 universal remote, at no charge! Also, the Sanus height looks like it's adjustable but these PC RICHARDs installers left on the highest position, and the cable wire was a bit short, this guy had attached it anyway - and it was not needed, according to the Comcast cable tech, and he also pointed out that the PC RICHARDs installers bent. I called and texted the manager who I thought was being helpful and now he doesn't respond!!! Also, when you call the store, they have some sort of game going on where the sales and management team are there every other day, so you can't speak to the same person from day to day! I've been going through this runaround for a week now. Have to get help to lower this stand because now that the tv is mounted on the stand, I need help to unscrew and lower the stand! This store has a decent variety of TVs and other electronics but I wasn't too happy with the salesperson I dealt with. I saw some TV models on PC Richard's website and went to the store to check them in person. My plan was to check the TVs, resolution, and other details in person and then place an order online for delivery. As soon as I arrived I informed the salesman that I just wanted to check and compare different TVs and as soon as I said that I noticed his attitude changed because he realized I wasn't going to purchase anything from him. I expected to hear back a "welcome, feel free to look around and if you have any questions let me know". Anyway, while I was checking the TVs he was all the time near me with a miserable face. Once I was done I actually made a comment saying "wow this Sony TV has a really good picture quality" and all he said was "ok". In other words, if he's not going to get any commission, why bother? Oh well... I found the same TV model at Costco for the same price and decided to purchase at Costco where nobody bothers me while I'm checking my stuff and if I need help they're always there to help me. Hopefully PC Richard can improve their customer service and hire more customer focused and less commission focused employees. read more

It appears that PC Richards has no regard for the customer. When I was finalizing my purchase with my salesperson and the store manager, I was promised the same deal as my Costco offer. Costco's offer includes delivery, installation, removal of the old refrigerator and a satisfaction guarantee. In reality, PC Richards never installed anything and afterwards denied agreeing to the installation. If, as I was told, PC Richards has been around for 113 years and they do not change their attitude toward the customer, they will not be around for another 113 years ! Shame on them read more

To say that I had a horrible experience with PC Richards is not saying enough. It was a complete nightmare. I could have never imagined that getting a new fridge can be that horrifying. First, I decided to pick a fridge that is discounted due to some cosmetic imperfection. It was delivered- delivery guys scratched the stairs and the floors. Then a day later we figured out that the cooling system does not work. About $500+ of food went bad as waiting for another fridge took 2 weeks. Two weeks without fridge. The next one was delivered with no plug. And that's with the promise from them it was tested! Then the next one (new from the manufacturer) was delivered 2 weeks later again - didn't fit! And we had someone from The store measuring the space. Then more wait - the 4th one is coming. It got installed and they broke the water line, which resulted in the water leak into the neighbors space below. My insurance went up as a result. Then everyone in the store has attitude too. One person that was trying to help with the delivery was Mike. The rest were rude and abrupt. One star is too much for this store/company. A disastrous nightmarish experience. Never again! Never! I went into this store not knowing what I was getting myself into. I recently moved into a new apartment and really wanted to find the perfect tv for my living room. Tyrone happened to be the Angel I needed because I was lost. I didn't know the difference between any of the options I was seeing around me. He was very patient with me and walked me through the store while describing to me the details of all the merchandise I could choose from. He didn't just sell me the first expensive flat screen he had available. He was genuinely interested in what I wanted and ultimately what I could afford. Tyrone really made this a smooth experience for me, as I have never been good with picking out appliances/electronics. I bought a TV at this store a week ago, salesmen states I can come by next morning to pick up the TV. I went next day and the guy now says he has sold that tv to someone else while I'm right there ready to pick it up. Then I was told to wait a whole week til today and the tv came just 2 hours ago. The original deal included tv and its installation but their delivery guys came and left after just testing if the tv turns on for one second outside the box and left. No help setting up! When I finish setting up the legs of the tv, the displays keeps going out, while being turned on. when I call about this problem, now after being lied to about getting the tv on Wednesday last week, I was told I have to wait another 2 days for someone to come and check out the tv. When stating my issues, the employee rudely puts me on hold while I'm telling my issues. This store is just a super scummy store. I lost several hours of my day due to this. when asking the rude employee for their name they instead start asking me for my name? Got played by the sales Rep on the price- he made out like he was giving me the deal of the century with $30 off MRSP. None of the supervisors cared that he was that way, they towed the company line. Delivery was within the timeframe indicated. The two did their job and left. We tipped them. The sales guy didn't have a clue about whether or not we could use an extension cord with the AC - the specs say not to use an ungrounded extension which is the cord the guy sold us. We will be returning that right away for a refund. We purchased everything over the phone and used the internet to view the product before agreeing to the sale. That is a good way to go for a person with a disability. The delivery and installation charges are hefty and not consumer friendly. Went to PC Richards in New Hyde Park last week in desparate need of a new dishwasher as old one broke just shutdown. We met a great salesman by the name of Jon S. who actually took the time and trouble to explaiin all the machines in the tier we were looking at helped us select a machine that what actually in stock and could be delivered and installed quickly. The PC installation team arrived on their scheduled time. Knew exactly how to handle the installation. They checked my plumbing, made some suggestions and beautifully installed my dishwasher. They were clean, professional and arrived gloved and masked. I bought a Kitchen Aid which so far works great and would recommend. Thank you PC Richards. read more

I have had the worst experience with BRIAN at this location. He is very rude and literally hangs up in your face if you are not ready to pay after speaking with him for 5 minutes. He tries to rush you into purchasing things. When I asked to speak to the manger he would not connect me and just hangs up or rushes me off the phone. Since they don't have the installation on this location they referred me to the west ny location. My wife sat an appointment and took the car to install the stereo and and unfortunately they could not install and keep the navigation working. So we wanted to return it and since my wife didnt have my credit card they asked her to go to original store. I recently purchased a refrigerator from the store on 440 in Jersey City. It was supposed to be delivered tomorrow Friday, but the inventory did not come into the warehouse yet, therefore they can't deliver it before Tuesday the 1st. When I spoke with the salesperson Mary and Store Manager Tyrone, they were both very kind and helpful, even though I was a little taken back by not getting the delivery. Given my disappointment, they made some additional phone calls and pulled some strings to get me the refrigerator sooner than was originally planned. This store has no knowledge on how to treat their customers. We have been with them for 20 years and we have purchased our appliances and furniture from them. We recently purchased a LG refrigerator from them and it stopped cooling our food in the last week. We had purchased a 10 year warranty guaranteeing an instant repair or replacement. We sought the store; we first0 got a repairman but his remedy wasn't good enough after 2-3 weeks. We tried again, and they ordered parts for the refrigerator as well as another repairman which would come in "2-3 days". A week has passed and everything is unchanged. We also haven't heard back from them since. I have hundreds of dollars worth of food in the garbage thanks to them. I couldn't be more pleased with my experience at the P.C. Richards in Jersey City on Highway 440. I had been helped by two extremely helpful salespeople (Victor & Hany). I had price shopped online extensively before I walked into the store and knew that I was getting great prices right off the bat. I ended up buying a washer & dryer, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, computer stuff, several big screen TVs, a BBQ grill, and a bunch of other smaller items. They were able to deliver everything THE NEXT DAY! And all of the delivery and service guys were fantastic. They took care and caution with not damaging my floors or walls. They were very nice and respectful and were able to get everything installed and cleaned up quickly. All in all, I am very pleased with the cost and service I received from this store! read more

On a snowy and cold Saturday, I decided to go to PC Richards on Route 440 to look for a new refrigerator. When I entered, a Dominican or Puerto Rican salesman stared me down with disgust. I have freckles and have been stared down many times but I didn't expect this from someone who wants a customer's business. He didn't ask how he could help me. I should've turned and left but I kept browsing looking for a refrigerator. Then, another salesman kept following me around. He asked if I needed help but I told him no but he kept following me around. All I was doing was looking for a refrigerator. I was so mad that I went to the manager and told him about my experience. An African salesperson chuckled the whole time I was telling the manager about how I felt. Do not go to this PC Richards. Regardless of the appliances they sell there, they don't sell good customer service. Even a manager at another store in Route 440 told me he doesn't go to this PC Richards because of being followed around the store and their poor customer service. I see I am not the only one that posted a negative review of this PC Richards so I am glad I am in good company. We've bought our washer and dryer there a while back and tonight my husband went in to buy a new TV and Marc Philippe who took care of him was so patient and helpful! The store closes at 9 and my husband got there 8:55 (we're not usually bad shoppers like that) and stayed until 9:30 and M.P made sure to get everything done and and was so positive and helpful and pleasant! Everytime I come here it gets better and better. This time it wasn't an actual purchase. I needed an item repaired and have had pc richard guys come out. After the second time they immediately issued me and exchange and it was delivered to me the following day. I have to say I was impressed. I have done business with their competitors and I've never received an item the following day. I saw headphones on the PC Richard website. There is a store less than 2 miles away so I printed the headphones page and drove to the store. The associate could not find / did not have the headphone set. He suggested I order at the store (it was on a Friday PM) and come pick it up on another day (he said the following Tues PM it would be there) . I paid CASH and asked if someone would call me to let me know it arrived at store. He replied Yes. It is now the next Friday (one week later !), I NEVER received a call, I went there and they still did not have the headphones. Went to PC Richards specifically to pick up a Friedrich 12,000 BTU Chill Air Conditioner (none of the big box stores carried Friedrich). Honestly to me the area felt a bit sketchy, but it was fine once I went inside. My sales associate, Andy, was nice, super helpful and gave me the best price I could get without a whole lot of shenanigans. Even the stock guy who loaded the a/c into my car was nice. As Murphy's Law would have it, there was a broken part on the a/c and the PC Richards receipt said that they don't take back opened a/c's and to contact the manufacturer :( . Proceeded with the install, contacted Friedrich, ordered the part and called PC Richards to tell them what happened. The assistant manager, Andrew, said that they would do an exchange (which was great service), but it was already installed and didn't want the hassle of taking it out. I waited almost 2 weeks for the part and never received it, so I called Friedrich again only to be told that the part is not available and to return it to PC Richards. Uggh, now it had to be uninstalled. I returned the a/c, the manager,Hani, helped me through the process. He was understanding and yet again, the experience was great right down to the 2nd stock guy who brought my a/c to the car. Hani did push hard for me to buy their extended warranty, but their warranties didn't rank too well, and the Friedrich a/c has a good warranty already, so I didn't take it. Bottom line, I really liked the service and I'll definitely purchase from here again. read more
