I've been to P.F. Chang's plenty of times and have never tasted such horrible food. My friend and I decided to come here randomly on Thursday night and we were so disappointed. Aside from service being slow, the food was disgusting. Definitely won't be back here. This place and the quality has gone down hill. Food review: Orange chicken: (3/5) It was tender and had decent flavor. Super small portion for the price. Crab rangoons: (2/5) These were so incredibly dry and needed either more cheese inside or sauce on the outside. They also were very soggy. Beef and broccoli: (2/5) The beef was pretty tough and the broccoli was crunchy, we thought it would be a little softer. Chow mein: (2/5) Plain with no seasoning or sauce. We ended up pouring the beef and broccoli over it just so it had some flavor. Fried rice: (2/5) It was hard, lacked flavor, and very dry. Even the soy sauce didn't do it justice. Was sweet, but not too sweet, ice cold, & delicious Ordered 1/2 orders of lettuce wraps, wontons, & bbq ribs Lettuce wraps were standard. The wontons tasted very heavily of bell pepper, which I was not expecting. The ribs had a nice glaze on them, but one of them the fat was not rendered off, so it was a big bites of glazed fat The staff was super nice. Not very talkative. We had spring rolls for appetizers, they were yummy. For entree, we had PF chang special chicken with fried rice and Singapore noodles with shrimp. My only issue is that the food took a very long time to come out! We were a party of 7. The restaurant wasn't even a quarter full. A little annoying. We were celebrating a birthday so received a complimentary dessert (the Great Wall of chocolate) along with the cool "sparkler" type of candle. Again, it took probably 20 minutes to get the dessert. I recently dined at P.F. Chang's in the Fashion Valley Mall with my family in San Diego. Overall, we had a good experience, though there are areas for improvement. The food was tasty, but I noticed some dishes were a bit overly salted. One big drawback for me is that they don't offer free refills on lemonade, especially when places like Cheesecake Factory do, and I don't think an extra glass would hurt their bottom line. With prices steadily climbing and portion sizes not matching up, the no-refill policy feels even more noticeable as I am definitely a beverage person. Dessert, on the other hand, was delicious and sharing it at the table was a highlight with no complaints there. Service is where things became hit-or-miss; while some staff are very good, our waitress assumed we wanted dinner pricing when we were there for the lunch special. When we clarified, her response was unprofessional and carried unnecessary attitude. A simple "I'am sorry for the misunderstanding, let me fix it right away" would have gone a long way. Decided to try this location again! It doesn't appear like cleanliness is a priority for them. The floor had what looked like rice all over. The hostess came to sweep it up but didn't do a good job. Still scattered rice everywhere in the dining area. Not sure if it was the plumbing in that area but the restrooms smelt like sewer, so they kept the doors open. The lunch special I had was the honey crispy chicken with the lo mein noodles. It was highly mediocre. My hot & sour soup was just okay. I asked for sauces and instead of bringing me the trio (which now they charge for) she brought me mustard & chili paste that was not what I wanted or asked for. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken and egg rolls from P.F. Chang's, and unfortunately both were inedible. The Kung Pao Chicken was so overwhelmingly salty that I couldn't finish it, and the egg rolls were undercooked. The quality of the food has clearly gone downhill compared to what it used to be. Wow!!! Hard to believe I've never given this amazing place a review! My friend (who reminded me she's known me since I was an embryo) chose here for my birthday lunch. Best birthday lunch ever (well, I've seriously been fortunate to have lots of bests)! Our server was so wonderful...She gave good recommendations, noticed the birthday bag and said to make room for dessert. We both chose lunch specials, which were plentiful and delicious. Server: Jake I went in at 2:38 pm. I ordered the glazed miso salmon off the lunch menu and he brought me Mongolian beef with lukewarm fried rice. I was so distracted that I didn't even notice I was served the wrong thing so I just sent it back because it was cold. When they brought it back out, I took one bite of the meat and had to spit it out because it was really off putting. That's when I realized I wasn't even eating the right meal smh. I ended up getting my actual meal togo. Overall the service was mid since I kept having to ask another server to get my server, Jake, even though it's pratically empty in here. He also brought me the check without asking if I wanted another drink or dessert and I honestly felt like he could see me trying to get his attention but did busy work to avoid me. Funny enough, he was very personable whenever we spoke but I feel like that was his way of providing good service when I could've done without the conversation if it meant I got my food and maybe even a discount for the back and forth. Went there for my birthday dinner with my children. Very disappointed, I remember the family dishes were big and enough for a party of 5, nit this time, the portions were very small. Then the broccoli beef, orange chicken and chowmein they didn't have anything special about them, comparing them to Panda Express. Honestly the chowmein at Panda Express is more tastier than PF Changs. Panda Express chowmein has cabbage and onion, where PfChsngs noodles all dry with no flavor. Last time I go there! P.F. Chang's is just a classic. They have a diverse menu with many solid dishes and I really enjoy the overall atmosphere. I've both dined in and ordered catering several times from this location and have always been generally satisfied. DINE IN: Food-wise the dine-in experience is definitely better. Portions are larger (especially the lunch portions which I've noticed are much smaller with takeout) and food just seems to taste better when eaten there. This restaurant is also fairly expensive so you get more bang for your buck when dining in. I recommend their Chicken Lettuce Wraps and Mongolian Beef. The only thing I've ordered and DIDN'T like was their pad thai. Service is also quick and staff is friendly. There is usually no wait. TAKEOUT: Despite the smaller portion sizes, takeout is still a very smooth experience. I typically order for a large office and it's very easy to place online and select a time to pickup. They're typically on time and staff is helpful with carrying my sometimes large catering orders. Will continue to return to P.f. chang's. If you're looking for a hyperlocal or super authentic Asian meal then this probably isn't the place, but still a nice dining experience. read more

If anybody ever suggests P.F. Chang's, I'm all in. I know it's a chain, but they always do everything so well. I love the Shrimp in Lobster Cream Sauce. It's a generous portion of shrimp, with richly deep mushroom flavor, enveloped in a hearty lobster cream sauce. The sauce has black beans, mushrooms, egg, and green onion ($23.50). I like to have it over P.F. Chang's Chicken Fried Rice: Wok-tossed with egg, carrots, bean sprouts, green onion, and chicken and finished with a touch of soy sauce ($17.00). If I'm not having a full dinner, I'll enjoy some Crab Wontons (6 for $14.50). They have crab, green onions, bell peppers and are served with a spicy plum dipping sauce. Crispy and robust. Or something else that you'll love are the Pan Fried Pork Dumplings (6 for $14.50), also served steamed, if you prefer, with a light plum sauce drizzle. I'll choose one of these appetizers (or both, if sharing). Desserts are inventive. There is a special Pick 3 for $7.95. Usually I am too full from lunch or dinner, but I like the New York Cheesecake ($5.95) when I do indulge. The amount of times I heard about PF Chang (and confused it with another famous restaurant chain) is embarrassing because I have not visited it..... until last week. My friend and I both realized that we have never been and decided to give it a try without knowing that we are getting ourselves into. We were very pleasantly surprised by offerings, but the best surprise of all came when we actually placed the order. I got fire cracker shrimp plate and my friend got honey chicken. Honestly, when I order any shrimp dish I expect to see 5-7 sad shrimps and to be charged premium for it. To my surprise, PF served us more shrimp than rice! I absolutely loved protein portion and it was a very generous portion for the price. I cannot recall last time when I got a meal in a restaurant similar to this. I used to love the lettuce wraps, but now they've changed the type of lettuce, the flavor was overly salty, and the sauce is different. I was totally disappointed--this was the main reason we came to P.F. Chang's! Why change a recipe that was already great? Other favorites, like the Honey Walnut Shrimp and combination fried rice, also didn't live up to expectations. Went on 4th of July, so my boyfriend and I got sat and greeted right away. Right off the bat, I knew Matt is a good server - good and cheerful personality. He gauged our needs and got us drinks right away; he checked in with us every course. He was very efficient with multiple tables. The egg drop soup was alright - could have benefited from more seasoning. The lettuce wrap stole the show - so good. We then got entrees of orange chicken and black pepper chicken - both delicious. I've worked at this mall for 8 years, and tonight was my first time coming in... one of my friends was visiting and this is where we agreed upon.. Phillip Chiang and Paul Fleming sure created a winner. With about 300 restaurants in 20 countries, it continues to please its patrons. My visit recently was simply delightful. Nobody should dine here without the experience of their outrageously tasty lettuce wraps. I also decided to try a Thai dish, and found it to be quite good, but maybe, just maybe not quite as good as found in a dedicated Thai restaurant. The server was kind enough to replace the order. Second order, same thing. I opted to order the chicken and broccoli instead. The broccoli was undercooked (almost raw). Again, I have been to several locations (outside of CA) and this was a terrible experience. The manager never stopped by to apologize or discuss the problem. To be clear, SD has amazing Japanese, great Korean, and awesome and Filipino food, but our Chinese food is GOD AWFUL! Everything taste like panda express, super Americanized. They had a To Go area with seating but you have to walk to the left of the restaurant through the dining area to get to it. My order was ready within minutes of placing it online. You have the option to pay on line or in person. My friend loved the sweet and sour chicken with steamed rice, it's her go to dish. I had ordered the hot and sour soup, crab wontons and kung pao chicken. I thought those were the safest to choose from out of everything else. I did not like my food. The food tasted like Panda Express. The only thing that stood out to me was the crab wontons, it was made with real crab meat but very little crab filling.
