Because when I ask for two smaller glasses, a jar of sake, and a big bottle of Sapporo, the bartender thinks it's cool that I'm about to do Sake Bombs with my brother. It's good and I feel guilty for liking it. It's not great, and it's not worth it, but I keep coming back like the sucker I am. Their alcoholic cocktails are fabulous. I had no idea a Chinese restaurant could make a margarita so good. I still don't get the whole 3 sauce thing they do at the table. It's so unnecessary. But I admit, I love that hot sauce all over my food. They tend to make things very palatable, naturally as a massive chain restaurant, so their "spicy" dishes are not spicy. I ate here for dinner on Saturday night with a group of 7. This location is a typical PF Changs...busy restaurant...good food...decent service. However, this location lost stars from me because of the host/manager, who told us upon checking in for our reservation, that we would be kicked out at 7 pm for a 5 pm reservation. I understand that they are busy and need the space, but it does take time for the orders to come up for group of 7 that is ordering 3 courses plus drinks. Meh. Our waitress was new. And she was terrible. At first she was all over us like white on rice - then she left. And the manager did not come over to rescue her when she was in the weeds, when our appetizers got lost, when she spilled water all over the floor and us and she didn't really clean it up, when she couldn't split the checks or when we thought she quit because she and virtually every other person in the restaurant was gone. Said manager finally came over when I asked. Also, when I arrived the place was trashed. The first thing I noticed is it looked like the local Kinder-care just finished having lunch there...I am certain that it just needed a sweep. I hate to give low ratings just because of lousy service, but I thought the food was just alright and it was very expensive. I was so hungry!!!! The food was great!!!! I had the two for 34.99 with my sister. We had the won ton soup, crab won tons, and the honey shrimp and sweet and sour chicken. Amazing!!!!! So much food!!! By the time my entree came, I was actually full. The service was amazing!!!! Fast and they kept the good coming. We also had the cheesecake with raspberry sauce, delicious!!!!! This review may be a little biased based on my views about good restaurants becoming too commercialized. When there were only a few PF Chang's they were quite good. No that they are in every city they have really gone down in quality. Same with Cheesecake Factory. But off my soapbox and on to the review. My girlfriend had the Singapore street noodles and I had the kung pao chicken. The noodles were a bit too sticky, as if they were undercooked or dry. Otherwise they were pretty good. Once upon a time I used to brag about how PF Chang's would cook their meat and then add the sauce for flavor, not douse the meat with sauce like a mall Chinese restaurant. Unfortunately I can no longer say that. The kung pao chicken just had way more sauce than was necessary. It's unfortunate this Chang's is like the rest I've been to in that their quality has taken a back seat to quantity. At least the service is still pretty good. read more

I just can't believe they don't serve Peking duck with pita wrap anymore. This is one of my favorite dishes. This place has really dark upscale ambiance Asian-American atmosphere to it. They have a really nice bar when you walked in through the front entrance. Outside the front door, there are two huge Horses that made of stone standing on each side. Inside, they display some of the small scale Chin Dynasty Chinese Art- army of clay statues of soldiers. Very Unique. The food are not that authentic Chinese food but they still taste great. The serving is not a lot for one dish so we usually order a lot more. The average per dish is about 10 to 20 dollars. The average cost per person usually in the high 30's. Overall the service is good and food is great. read more

I am really unhappy with what I received because it looked like someone ate half of it before I received it. I never been to a establishment with such rude people. The host stand is always crowded and unorganized. There is always a problem with their systems whether it's in restaurant or online, and the managers always seem to have no idea what's going one and has a excuse for it. Half the time the food is dry like it was sitting for hours, and I often see the employees touching and eating the food with their hands before serving it.It is not worth the time or money I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

This spot continues to disappoint. They continue to sacrifice quality to reduce cost of dishes and try to cover it all up with heavy, dark sauces and cheaper filler ingredients. For instance, Kung pao chicken. Once a great dish with flavorful nuggets of chicken with peanuts in an ok spicy sauce. Now, not firm nuggets, but mealy strips with double the peanuts to cover it all up. Nearly $17 bucks. Legal robbery. I can make the same observations about nearly every item on the menu. I ordered takeout here at the PF Chang's at Somerset Mall in Troy. My entree cost $18 but was extremely small and plain so I was disappointed. It was not worth the price. Pros: our dinner was very good. We had edamame(Good), Vietnamese Salad( LOVED the flavors and it was generous size), Chang's Spicy Chicken (delish!) and fried rice (very good). Our server was nice and spot on with service. Cons: ~we came specifically to use a $$gift card that was given to us. Surprise!!! Their "machine" couldn't read any gift cards; it was "down". Seriously ??!! So for a nice dinner that was gifted to us, it turned into a dinner on us. SO DISAPPOINTING. ~ the crying/screaming kids were out of control. At least 4 tables full. A booth next to ours had two kids that were either screaming and literally jumping up and down in their booth or they were poking their mother with forks (that would have been comical if the screaming didn't accompany it). One of my go-to places if I need a good meal. Most of the food on the menu is great and service isn't too bad. I do however always recommend getting reservation as this place is packed A LOT. Just goes to show how popular the place is. The appetizers are a great opening to your meal. A lot of the sauces at P.F Chang's have a very distinct taste and compliment the dishes very well. My family and I have been eating and enjoying P.F Chang's for 7-8 years. The only main complaint we have is the fact that sometimes the things place is inconsistent when it comes to service. Sometimes it takes them 30 minutes to get all of our food and sometimes It takes them an hour and 30 minutes to get an appetizer. It really depends on when you go here. Pf Chang No Rice = Subway no bread. Anyway, I ask is there was rice in the building that's uncooked or are you completely out of rice period. He says we have rice in the building. I said good. So you have to cook it? He said yes. I said good. So why'd you bring out my order? He said I can substitute it for something else. I said huh? I asked why my food is here if no rice is here. He said because we're out. I said if you made some rice would you still be out? He said no. I said ok, can the kitchen make some rice? He said yes but it will take 15-20 min. I said ok, that's fine. But what about my meal that's getting cold as I'm waiting for the rice to be made? He said what about it? I said I'm about to go home and microwave my carry out. He said that's your choice. I said you're right. I said never mind on the order. He said I already charged your gift card. I said refund it. He said I can't. I said why not. He said I need manager approval. I said ok? We did carry out here. First, the girl that took my order wasn't even aware her location is in Somerset Collection, which should have been my first clue this would not be a great experience. I picked my order up and when I got it home, I realized they gave us a container of brown rice when I asked for white (and my order was repeated back to me correctly on the phone), we barely got any food, the portions were TINY, and the meat was overcooked and rubbery. I went in not knowing what to expect. My group ordered a few appetizers and a few entrées: Salt and Pepper Calamari, Crab Wontons, the Singapore Street Noodles, the Chicken Lo Mein, and the Kung Pao Chicken. The calamari was good but the sauce was a bit to sweet for by taste, it wasn't your average calamari. The Wontons had a lot more crab than cheese which is not what I'm used to so but didn't work for me, however a seafood lover might enjoy it more. The street noodles were good and had a nice spice to them. The peppers that came with the Kung Pao were very hard and chewy, I didn't enjoy them but they could be eaten around. The Lo Mein was exactly what we were looking for. I would recommend for a lunch if you are in the mall, otherwise find a place that can out more care into the dishes. I decided to stop in because it had been a really long time at PF Chengs, especially this location. It was fairly busy when we walked in. I walked up to the reception area to put my name in for waiting, instead the younger girl with dark hair was taking a pic on her phone of a fortune from a fortune cookie. She never once acknowledged us or cared to look up. It wasn't as if she turned to a corner to sneak and do it, she did it right in the open. Another nice employee asked her to kindly put the phone away and she shrugged and kept doing what she was doing. As a result, we decided to take our business to the next restaurant over. If service is this bad at the door, imagine what service may be once you sit down. First impressions mean a lot. You failed me this visit Chengs. read more

A very disappointing family dinner experience. We went to the P.F. Chang's location at Somerset Mall at a little after 6:00 p.m. on a Thursday. The restaurant was only about 40% full. Our three appetizers arrived spaced over the course of about 15 minutes, resulting in one person being about finished when the last person's arrived. One of the entrees arrived lukewarm and we sent it back for reheating. It arrived back in the same lukewarm condition. As far as quality is concerned, the food was essentially pedestrian which, at a cost of $120.00 for 3 appetizers, 4 entrees and a single glass of wine, was disappointing - although the chicken lettuce wraps were as good as always. As a last experience, I visited the rest room before leaving, and found it in the condition depicted in the attached photos, with one sink even plugged up with paper towels. The only positive thing about our experience was our server Stacie, who was attentive, friendly and apologetic about the kitchen's shortcomings. read more

I love Chinese food and have eaten a lot of it, so I'm perhaps too picky. If you are not a connoisseur then P.F. Chang's should be good enough for you. It offers professional ambiance and service in my experience. It also offers an accessible menu which is a problem at many other Chinese restaurants. However, the crux of any restaurant is the food. The renowned lettuce wraps are in deed excellent, but my main dish, Ma Po Tofu was a disappointment. It tasted very bland and unauthentic. I would rather spend a little more and get something really tasty. Good Chinese food is not an easy task Authentic fare may be too much to ask. read more

First, we get a lot of take out from this restaurant. I don't think our take out order has ever been perfectly correct. Something is always missing - small things like fortune cookies or extra sauces. I downloaded the app and I order through that, so P.F. Chang's gets the order through a computer and not a phone call, so the order is clear. I like using the app because you can collect reward dollars and after a few orders, you get a free entree. I ordered the filet mignon and it was absolutely delicious. Sliced thin, medium rare, juicy and flavorful. We like the kung pao shrimp/chicken and honey chicken for the kids. We usually order a side of green beans or eggplant, the eggplant is deliciously spicy if you have never had it. P.F. Chang's is rather pricey, but with the app I usually get a coupon for 20% off takeout for certain nights. You can also customize your entree through the app (sauce on the side, no green onions, things like that). The food is a 10/10 most every time, the 4 stars are for the the issues with the take-out orders. I would give it 4.5 stars if I could. read more
