Where do I start... THE FOOD everything on the menu is a must try if you can. Seriously, I have not had one meal from Mon Jin Lau that I didn't enjoy. I've ate there dozens of times and they are CONSISTENT. The service is great and everyone is happy to serve/help you. The lighting is low, there is cultural artwork everywhere and they do an amazing birthday service, it's a show for no added cost! If you have a birthday coming up and want everyone to be laughing/smiling, they won't fail! The SUSHI is absolutely amazing. The salmon on the beach roll is truly as good as other reviews say! A must order. I was really excited for the tuna tartare but it felt like it was lacking a bit. Loved the spicy orange chicken which was only a little bit spicy. Pad thai and fried rice were good. They have some really fun looking sushi rolls. Prices are good, sushi is a bit higher priced than other places but seems worth it. The entree dishes are priced similar to take out spots, but the experience is elevated, so definitely worth it. We made a reservation for a weekday dinner. It got packed in there by 6pm. The restaurant got extremely loud. Our server was good but we felt like she was frazzled. The bus man was amazing, quick with water refills and took each dirty plate as soon as we were finished. I will be back, maybe not at peak hours so I can hear conversation a bit better. read more

First time ordering from here. Parking lot is valet only so you have to maneuver through that to park. Ordered almond chicken and sesame chicken, egg, drop soup, spring roll, and egg roll. Found I did not have the spring roll when I got home. Called them and they immediately credited it to DoorDash. This is not like other places where you can get a combination platter. For $23 I got chicken, a few pea pods and almonds and a quart of rice to share with my husband. I believe his meal was also $23 or around that. Both chicken dishes looked good, but were very dry when tasted. His sesame chicken sauce was spicy but not intolerable. My sauce was good but the chicken was so dry, it didn't help. I actually stopped eating it and threw it out. I realize this place is supposed to be one of the best, but that simply was not my experience and for that amount of money, I will not be trying it again. read more

I have eaten at this restaurant many times over the last 20 years and the quality of food has really slipped. My Mooshu beef was served with Mexican Tortillas for example and my cocktail that was supposed to come with fruit had none because "they ran out." Neither of our dishes were flavorful. This is not expensive dining either our bill for 2 people with one cocktail for one person was over $100. There are better options out there. read more

This place never disappoints! The food is always amazing and so fresh. The atmosphere is fun and welcoming, and the wait staff are consistently kind and attentive. Some of my absolute favorites: the Ming shrimp and lettuce wraps (so crispy and flavorful, perfect starters!), the sizzling rice soup (my #1 go-to), and the steak and chicken dishes, which are always cooked perfectly. They do a pretty good set of food for Happy Hour. Maybe slightly pricier than other places but they have alot of sushi rolls on the menu. Service is good. Opens at 330, but people seemed to start rolling in around 4-430pm. Parking is good except on Wednesday when they do the club night. I liked the Gyoza alot and thought the sushi was good. Not pictured is pad thai, which was a dinner menu item and not a happy hour item. That was so-so, their version has a sauce which tasted good but wasn't what I was expecting. read more

The paper tablecloth and menus made the experience feel cheaper than expected, especially for a graduation meal. I've been going here for years and I've never been disappointed by the food, price, or environment. Even when you get take out the food holds up to standard. Sushi is phenomenal and not that's fake cream cheese sushi you get other places. Crispy beef and fried rice is our regular order and I highly recommend it. The service was good but the food was so bad. We got "squid" off the happy hour and it was dry deep fried sticks of fish paste. No sauce no flavor. The eggplant was decent but super tough and dry, good flavor tho. Strangely no rice came with our orange chicken and the chicken was like dry nuggets with a super tough leathery chew. Food was quite good. Lots of menu choices--in fact menu is almost overwhelming there are so many choices. Too much egg in the hot and sour soup. Service was great. Robin was knowledgeable and timed our food appropriately. In terms of ambiance, I was not impressed. The bar area is very cute and inviting, I think I'll try sitting there at a later date. The main dining area felt dated with the tables tightly packed. It could use an update to feel warmer and more welcoming. read more

Top level Asian fusion / Chinese / Japanese restaurant owned by generations of the Chinese family (where Gloria Chin, the Hollywood actress belonged to but not the same Chin's where Vincent Chin hailed from. Interior vibe very cool with very awesome paintings on the wall; there are also stylish areas for sitting outside and in atriums. The food is horrible & over priced. I had almond chicken. They drowned the chicken with what appeared to be ALL THE GRAVY left in the kitchen. I had to put the white rice, that I purchased as a side dish by the way, on the plate to soak up the gravy. My husband had sweet & sour chicken, and had to purchase a side of white rice. The redeeming factor was that we were out with family & friends, and decided to go to dinner after doing the Shankar Distillery tour which was great. We had a charcuterie tray at the distillery so none of us were starving. Had I really been hungry, I would have been angry about my plate of gravy with chicken on the side! The staff was attentive. The soup was great, very flavorful. The Chilean Sea Bass in Banana leaf didn't come out in the banana leaf but it tasted amazing with the curry sauce. The food was delicious however we went on a Wednesday night at 8:30. We're not told that it was mandatory valet parking at five dollars after 8. Our family met there so we had multiple cars. We had a reservation although our table wasn't ready. We sat down. They told us we needed to be out strictly at 10 o'clock for their nightclub as our table was on their dance floor. We were not told that either when we made the reservation that we had a strict get out of Dodge time. the waitress did her best to rush us out of there too. We came here to celebrate my future daughter in law's birthday and she chose it because it had a lot of vegetarian and seafood options and a great reputation. For appetizers we got calamari and lettuce wraps. Both were absolutely delicious. For dinner I got the Spicy Vegetable Udon Noodle which was delicious but I didn't think it was very spicy. Other dinners ordered were almond boneless chicken, sesame chicken and lots of sushi. Everyone loved their dinners and brought home leftovers. When the waitress came and asked us if we wanted any dessert, we all said no, but I commented that one of the people in our group was having a birthday so she brought out a bowl of ice cream with a sparkler in it and a fun mask that the birthday girl put on for photo purposes and you can see it in my photographs All in all, this was a lot of fun and great treat read more

We had a delightful time on their back patio which was surrounded by tall shrubs to help forget it was a suburban parking lot. The waitress was friendly, the food as delivered quickly. Service was so kind and the menu is extensive. I didn't order any cocktails but I stole a couple of sips from my friends and they were very tasty and pretty strong! We all got some appetizers, I split the bali maki with my boyfriend. The presentation was neat and the meat was tender and the marinade was very yummy. We both got noodle dishes and they were very good with a lot of veggies and protein. It's a very pretty restaurant and they were decorated for Lunar New Year. The food was awful and over priced! I got the small combo 9pc and it was a garden bar! Not with the money at all. I felt like I ate an appetizer. Then I order the seafood war bar. Sounded good, then I realized it had 3 shrimp, looked liked slicer scallops on it and fake lobster prices on it. Good thing I didn't take clients hear or I would have lost the deal. Gyoza arrived tepid. Ordered sushi. Big mistake. The roll skins were "tough". The waitress tried to convince me that the soy sauce was lower sodium; it clearly was not. This Oriental restaurant changed $5.00 for a pot of tea and rice was a chargeable item, albeit only $1.50. The breaded items that other diners with me had, were over-breaded.
