I don't really know why this place gets such a bad rep these days. It's not authentic (has never claimed to be) and it's a chain restaurant. Unfortunately just like everywhere else, inflation has hit and portions are a bit smaller but I'm just going to throw it out there. The prior portions were outlandish. Americans are just used to huge portion sizes for no reason. Any reasonable person will still be plenty full with a main entree. Salt and pepper prawns with the sauce on the side-- delicious. The prawns were huge and I was plenty full. Savory, spicy, and flavorful. I did not find the breading to be overwhelming. Cucumber side dish was refreshing and the vinegar wasn't over powering at all. Chang's spicy chicken, I think the portion was still plenty large. My husband didn't finish his and had left overs. You can skip the sushi. It tasted perfectly fine and it wasn't fishy in the slightest but as far as sushi goes-- just go to a standard sushi restaurant for more variety. P.F. Changs does not reinvent the wheel. It's a slightly more upscale chain. All of their menus are online as well as pictures so if you are on the fence just look them up ahead of time. If the prices are a deterrent just go with your normal take out spot. You won't be at a loss either way. My personal experience was great and honestly I had no complaints. I would absolutely eat here again knowing what to expect. read more

Service was amazing today on Fathers Day. I forgot his name, young guy, but he said he was pulling a double shift, I believe. Anyhow food was great. Patio was a little messy in the entrance. Where I was seated I felt like I had to kept dodging people, sure enough server hit my seat when rearranging someone else's table. If it wasn't a pet peeve someone hitting where I sit. I'd be okay. Anyway focusing on positive green beans appetizer, chicken lettuce wrap, Mongolian tofu was delicious! And amazing server was the cherry on top. read more

Food: 3.5/5: it is hard to give an accurate account of the food because it was a mixed bag. The Hot and Sour soup was the best we have ever had. The Mongolian beef was pricy but excellent. The sesame chicken was not great but the veggies served with it were fresh. The pot sticker wrappers were undercooked but the sauce had good flavor. I think it is hit or miss with certain dishes. The Pad Thai was good but not spicy enough and they didn't seem to allow you to augment the spice level on any of their dishes. Service: 3/5 Our server was new and so that inexperience was felt across the meal but she did her best. Ambiance: 4/5 Besides the large wall mural which was off putting, the rest of the decor was certainly on theme for an Americanized Chinese chain restaurant. The pictures on the website are dated. You don't get nearly that much food anymore. At first, I thought I had received someone else's order. After double-checking the receipt, it was mine. Compared to last year, I paid more for less than half of what I would normally get. To make matters worse, the quality was terrible. The beef tasted like it was sourced as cheaply as possible. The rice was drowning in oil. The spring rolls were all roll with barely any filling. The sauces had way too much ginger, an absurd amount, like they were covering up the cheap ingredients. It looked like someone used every cheap trick possible to cut corners and pad the bill. This is $20+ for a lunchbowl that would cost $8 anywhere else. read more

I love their lettuce wraps. They seem to be the ones that everyone else tries to imitate but falls short of replicating. I went during the lunchtime and sat at the bar to enjoy my lettuce wrap feast. I wish they still made the sauce at the table so it could be customized like they did years ago, but what they served it with was close enough. I won't say that this is a bargain as it's still a little Spidey for the food that you get, but I enjoy it so much I still stop in when I'm in the area. read more

We stopped in for a late linch/early dinner. We each choose one of their bowls available before 4pm. They weren't bad but they weren't impressive either. The sesame chicken bowl hip was heavy on the sauce, and the sauce was heavy on salt. The honey shrimp bowl was a little lite on the sauce, but the sauce had a vinegar taste that wasn't pleasing. Service was good and the atmosphere was very nice. To be honest, we've tried PF Changs a few times over the years and it's just never been a restaurant we enjoy. Every few years we give it another shot to see if there is something on the menu that we might enjoy. So far it just hasn't happened for us. read more

Our drinks never ran dry, which is a pet peeve of mine. Food was very good. We love the lettuce rolls, although the sauce seems to have changed since we were there years ago. The service team here is amazing! The waitress was very friendly and attentive and the food came out very quick. The calamari batter wasn't my favorite but the sauce that comes with it was amazing! And the orange chicken sauce was a bit thicker than I would like, but the fried rice that came with it was great. The Apple crisp dessert was yummy too! They were not cooked nearly enough and were very tough, I left about 10 of these long things on my plate. I've got great teeth, nobody would have enjoyed eating these. They PF changs ended up showing up with two spicy tuna rolls and didn't charge me as well as a nice lovely surprise of dessert .....a great chocolate cake! This place is not what it use to be. This is my first time coming back in years. Coming back the Changs Spicy Chicken doesn't taste how it use to taste. I don't know if I am reminiscing about the past, my taste buds aren't excited as they use to be. I paired my dinner with a glass of Prosecco, you'd think the wine would be top tier for the location. My glass needed to be in fermentation for a bit longer, it had a harsh after taste of alcohol. My sever on the other hand was amazing, she kept my water glass filled & had another glass of water out before I sipped the last sip. I came in alone & was sat at the bar. If you're looking to turn your 3 star experience into a 5 star experience, ask for Victoria. She made my experience better than what it really was. read more

I'm pretty disappointed with this place. My husband and I were seated at a wobbly table, then moved to one that needed wiped down. The prices are high for what we received. The appetizer was almost $8 for items we could enjoy at Dillon's for $2. We had something that looked like crab Rangoon, but with a different name, which were nothing spectacular. While we were waiting for our order, a waiter dropped almost an entire order on the floor and broke dishes. That has nothing to do with us, but I fail to see why the waiter had so many dishes on a huge platter with no help. Several people suddenly showed up to clean up, though. When our waitress came around to see how we were doing, my husband told her it was very warm in the place. The girl told him it was because the patio is open for business. Some of the wait staff looked miserable and obviously sweaty. Someone walked by and placed two plates on our table. It was several more minutes before the food arrived. My husband ordered a chicken dish. I ordered a beef dish. We both ordered brown rice, so it was brought in a bowl to share. Apparently, we were supposed to put rice on the plates and serve our meat over it. The plates that arrived were smaller than what we are used to at other Chinese places, so we divided up the rice, then mixed it to eat on the small plate it came on. No sense wasting the equally small plates that had been brought. We were amused by the giant spoons that came with the entree. We were tempted to eat our dinner with them, because the forks were rather large as well. There was a container of chopsticks on the table. We passed. We were still hungry when we left. We used the gift card we brought, as well as some cash to tip the waitress. We will not return. I can eat more for less at several other Chinese restaurants in Wichita, including Chinese buffet. Unhappy Hour: I came in the last two evenings prior to the dinner rush and asked to be seated in the dinning room. I was a party of 1. Friday night the hostess said "we need our dining room tables for parties of two or better." Begrudgingly I ate at the bar the first night. Tonight I refused, saying that I wanted a dining room table, not a bar or seat in the lounge. I told the visibly annoyed hostess I didn't want to dine with the employees. Yes, that's right, the bar/lounge is also the employee chow hall. The first image I saw this evening was an employee eating his dinner, visible to everyone entering the front door. So my first two experiences from a 'second chance/recovery' visit to Chang's was a blackshirt grunger employee stuffing his pie hole and yaking with the bar staff in the lounge, and encore attitude from a hostess because I didn't want to be devalued as a customer since I was a party of one. I'm pretty sure the $100 I spent was of equivalent value to other people's currency. So whomever manages this dog and pony show, please provide some answers. I'm from Vegas. Maybe this is the way they do things in Cowpie Kansas. Cora, the server, was the only bright spot. Food wise: Mapu Tofu....great but needed more sauce. Tempura Cauliflower....awesome, but about as Chinese as Elizabeth Warren is Cherokee. Charred Brussels Spouts....excellent. Szechuan Asparagus....inedible! Straws and stalks. It was like eating hay. I was choking worse than the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl 51. They should feed it to the cement Clydesdale in front of the restaurant before you see the employee lounge chow hall, and get the hostile hostess / Republican on The View reception. Cheesecake is awesome. Life noodles are flawless. Just the right amount of heat. Garlic green beans....meh. Think I'm bluffing about the dining room, check out the images. Just me and my wife went for dinner here. Waitress was obviously learning and young but she very polite and a good personality, unfortunately that's where the positive experience ends. Food took an hour to arrive at the table with dumplings missing from the order, everything that we did receive was greasy and didn't taste very good. Then we got the check with the dumplings on the check, waitress was super apologetic but it took another 20 minutes to get a corrected check. Problems are obviously in the kitchen and with management. No attention to quality or customer service. A visit to the table with an apology or a complementary drink or something would have given me cause to give them a 2nd chance but I think it'll be some time before we try PF Chang's again. 2 stars for the waitress and her efforts. read more
