I really enjoyed my experience at The Monarch. When I was in town for work, I asked a friend who lives in the area where I should have lunch and he suggested this spot that was near my hotel. My go to order when I ever eat anywhere is a French dip and their's is pretty good and super affordable. I was dining solo, so I sat at the bar and turned on the Dodger game on my phone and had a nice afternoon eating food in a nice atmosphere. The restaurant is decorated nicely, has a nice patio, and has a very lively energy. My server/ bartender was super attentive while not being bothersome, was friendly and efficient. I would definitely come back here if I'm ever in the area again.

I like this place a lot. I come to Wichita once a year and make sure I stop by here. The wings are great. In Vegas, we don't really have whole wings. The staff didn't really interact so much so I can't say that they were friendly, but they were very attentive. I also ordered the world of whiskey. All the drinks were delicious. I love how open and clean the restaurant is. I'll be back next year. See you then.

Always good! Get the Tendies and homemade honey mustard. Actually, I think most of their dressings are homemade. Ps: best whiskey selection in town

Great service from Jessica. We enjoyed our soup (tomato) and sandwich plus some potato skins. Cocktails and beer rounded up the dinner.

We went here on 1/15/26. Great place! Have no complaints. Food great, drinks great and reasonably priced. Wait staff friendly and attentive. If you want to have a good cocktail and unique food, go here. It's also very large and the seating is comfortable. We can't wait to go back!

Dinner Saturday night was good. The place was busy as expected for a Saturday night but we were seated within 20 minutes of our arrival. We had just enough time to grab a cocktail at the bar and enjoy the outside area while we waited. Cheers to the very busy bar team. We were waited on very quickly and our drinks is were well balanced and exactly the same. I ordered the Veggie sandwich with aioli dressing and broccoli salad side salad. I would highly recommend this dish if you want something filling but not overly heavy or hot. My friend ordered the sweet potatoes, her personal favorite, and raved about them. The service was great and the place had a relaxed vibe to it. On a personal note: it was really loud (for my taste) conversations had to be shouted to hear and it's hard to enjoy the great weather and outdoor space with the street noise so close ,the motorcycles that liked to crews by periodically to rev their engines several times during our dinner it made it less than enjoyable dining and for conversation. I love a good patio during nice weather but for me the noise level was so high it was hard to truly enjoy the dining experience as a whole. In general a great place to spend the eve in for dinner and drinks if you don't mind shouting and loud noise throughout your stay.

While we were visiting we stopped in for dinner. This place is very open and trendy with a great relaxed atmosphere. Our waitress was very kind and helpful. We started out with mushrooms with burned ends along with peppers and goat cheese . I had the roast beef and cheddar sandwich with house made BBQ chips. My husband had the grilled cheese with sweet potato tots. The meal was very nice and we left with a full stomach! Definitely would go again!

I came here for lunch on a Saturday. It was pretty busy when I arrived, but I was seated right away. I was sat near the bar area at a high top table. With tvs around, it gave off a sports bar vibe. Since I was alone, it was nice to watch the tv. Food: I ordered the fried mushrooms to start. The serving size was larger than I was expecting, and they were delicious! I absolutely enjoyed them. I also ordered the veggie sandwich. The sandwich was pretty good. The fries were crispy too. Service: Service was friendly. The food came out promptly as well. I did think my mushrooms would come out first, but all the food came out at once. TL;DR - Good restaurant with a sports bar vibe

The food was all really good. The service was fast and friendly. The restaurant was very busy but worth the wait.

Another year, another restaurant pops up to occupy the doomed little building near 47th and Seneca…read more Everything about Sweet Willy's is heavy-handed, from the menu's cartoon cowboy claiming this to be the best barbecue he's had, to the amount of hickory used in the meat that ensures you're going to smell like the woods before you make it back to the car. Going so over the top doesn't help my old barbecue standbys: the pork was on the way to becoming jerky, the brisket was dry and the fat unrendered, and even the sausage had a casing that was too thick for my liking. The ribs, on the other hand, stood up to the smoke well, producing a caramelized crust that gave way to tender meat that came off the bone cleanly. I'm not normally a ribs guy, but it was one of the saving graces of the meal. What Sweet Willy's lacks in panache it makes up for in gusto. The menu is peppered with all sorts of non-traditional applications of barbecue, from poutine to chicken lollipops to tacos, though the most surprisingly enjoyable thing may be the burnt ends, which are tossed in a honey and garlic sauce that is not only more subtle than the KC-style sauces served with everything else, but surprisingly works well with the sugars in the meat in a way that doesn't overwhelm. There's clearly a lot of effort put into Sweet Willy's, but not a lot of confidence, no matter how many "yums" are on the menu. There's some good to be found in places you wouldn't expect, but the brisket and pork are serve as the foundation upon which the rest of the menu is built, so improving them should be the first priority.

Amazing BBQ hole in the wall place! We tried the family pack with 3 meats, 3 sides, rolls and…read moresauce. The garlic slaw isn't too sweet, the sweet potato salad is a surprisingly delicious change from traditional, and the baked beans are the perfect mix of sweet smoky and a kick. Pork, brisket, and turkey are all moist and top notch! The mild sauce is very sweet and the hot sauce has a nice vinegar flavored kick. You need to try this place out for some good Kansas BBQ.
