We enjoyed out trip here 2 years ago so much that my husband wanted to come here again to see if it was as good as he remembered. Spoiler alert, it was! I got the same beer as last time (Buffalo Sweat) and I honestly believe that this is my most favorite beer ever. And the green beans were still voted my husbands favorite food this trip. We brought more people with us this time and everyone really enjoyed it. Along with the fried green beans, we added the fried mushrooms and hummus. Both were very good. My brother got the french dip and I got the Uncle Tony. We split the sandwiches and both had a side salad. Again, I wasn't super impressed with the sandwiches (at least not to the extent of the green beans) but it was still tasty. We come to Wichita every other year. It looks like this is going to become a tradition to include a meal at the Monarch. Highly recommend! read more

We were driving through Wichita On our way to Utah. Felt a bit hungry so we stumbled across an amazing place to eat. The Monarch. The atmosphere in this place is just amazing. The staff are all friendly. Our waitress was Julia just outstanding service. Julia recommended the club sandwich and it's not your run of the meal club. It was fabulous. The broccoli salad seasoned perfectly. I had the chicken pesto flatbread. Wow over the top. The club house salad was left no room for improvement. The prices are where the surprise comes in. It so very well priced. The portions are more than adequate. We will eat here as we travel through the area again Thank you all. read more

I really enjoyed my experience at The Monarch. When I was in town for work, I asked a friend who lives in the area where I should have lunch and he suggested this spot that was near my hotel. My go to order when I ever eat anywhere is a French dip and their's is pretty good and super affordable. I was dining solo, so I sat at the bar and turned on the Dodger game on my phone and had a nice afternoon eating food in a nice atmosphere. The restaurant is decorated nicely, has a nice patio, and has a very lively energy. My server/ bartender was super attentive while not being bothersome, was friendly and efficient. I would definitely come back here if I'm ever in the area again. read more

I like this place a lot. I come to Wichita once a year and make sure I stop by here. The wings are great. In Vegas, we don't really have whole wings. The staff didn't really interact so much so I can't say that they were friendly, but they were very attentive. I also ordered the world of whiskey. All the drinks were delicious. Dinner Saturday night was good. The place was busy as expected for a Saturday night but we were seated within 20 minutes of our arrival. We had just enough time to grab a cocktail at the bar and enjoy the outside area while we waited. Cheers to the very busy bar team. We were waited on very quickly and our drinks is were well balanced and exactly the same. I ordered the Veggie sandwich with aioli dressing and broccoli salad side salad. I would highly recommend this dish if you want something filling but not overly heavy or hot. My friend ordered the sweet potatoes, her personal favorite, and raved about them. The service was great and the place had a relaxed vibe to it. On a personal note: it was really loud (for my taste) conversations had to be shouted to hear and it's hard to enjoy the great weather and outdoor space with the street noise so close ,the motorcycles that liked to crews by periodically to rev their engines several times during our dinner it made it less than enjoyable dining and for conversation. I love a good patio during nice weather but for me the noise level was so high it was hard to truly enjoy the dining experience as a whole. In general a great place to spend the eve in for dinner and drinks if you don't mind shouting and loud noise throughout your stay. read more

The monarch always provides a great experience. The menu is fairly broad and everything that I have tried has been excellent! The patio is large enough for big groups and provides a great setting. The inside seating area very nice as well with a large bar and an overhead door that opens up to create an even better feel! While we were visiting we stopped in for dinner. This place is very open and trendy with a great relaxed atmosphere. Our waitress was very kind and helpful. We started out with mushrooms with burned ends along with peppers and goat cheese . I had the roast beef and cheddar sandwich with house made BBQ chips. Located at the circle on Douglas in the Delano area, the Monarch is somehow bigger inside than it is outside. This may be related to the 2 patios and the garage doors that link the outside and inside spaces - creating an open and cheery atmosphere. The menu is inviting - everything sounds delicious, and the food at neighboring tables looked promising. We enjoyed the chicken salad sandwich and hot potato salad and a Wilbur sandwich with sweet potato tots. The portions were just right and the food was tasty. All I have to say is you better fast before you go to this restaurant. The cheese board alone could feed a small country. After that, I didn't have much more room so I got a cup of their tomato soup. I came here for lunch on a Saturday. It was pretty busy when I arrived, but I was seated right away. I was sat near the bar area at a high top table. With tvs around, it gave off a sports bar vibe. Since I was alone, it was nice to watch the tv. Food: I ordered the fried mushrooms to start. The serving size was larger than I was expecting, and they were delicious! I absolutely enjoyed them. I also ordered the veggie sandwich. The sandwich was pretty good. The fries were crispy too. Service: Service was friendly. The food came out promptly as well. Restaurant/pub located in downtown Wichita. A few locals recommended this spot so we checked it out for Sunday brunch. Bottomless mimosas are apparently against the law in Wichita but they do offer $5 mimosas. There is also a great selection of bourbons and beers. We started with the goat cheese peppers which were amazing. They guys had the wings which they said were excellent with some spice. For my meal I had the pork Mac and cheese. Usually such such good food and service but that girl server with the red cat eye glasses has 0 service skills. Two of her three tables had to get up and ask for her. No personality and literally said 4 things and checked on our table 0 times. Got our drinks.... Gave me water after I asked for a DR.P. 3.9/5 First time at the Monarch. I can't say it left a huge impression on me but that doesn't mean my experience was bad. I just personally feel there's not a lot that sets this establishment apart from the next "American cuisine" eatery. That being said it was quite busy for a Sunday night but I was able to walk right in. All three staff I had interactions with were plenty friendly. There was a small mix up with who was supposed to be serving our table between servers but it was quickly hashed out. Ambiance: open air, nice patio, pretty standard for a restaurant of its type. No loud music thank goodness. Food: as many have said the fried green beans are where it's at. The aoli it came with was particularly tasty as well. The spinach artichoke dip is definitely one of the better ones I've had and I appreciate the variety of chips, veggies, and flat breads with it. Most places just give you one kind. I had the veggie flat bread. Probably my least favorite thing. It looked unappetizing (I wish I had taken a picture) and all the moisture of the vegetables and cheese made it floppy and soggy. The pesto was a little too heavy and it was quite oily. The sweet potato tots were GOOD. Like give me a whole basket of those. My friend said her cuban was quite good as well. Overall some hits some misses. Pretty standard restaurant fair and there's something on the menu for everyone. read more

Not Horrendous, but even though it was my first time in Wichita (visiting from Los Angeles) I managed to find better food. I ordered a Rueben, and being from L.A., where there are a LOT of Jewish Delis with OUtstanding sandwiches, maybe I held them to a high bar. I tried to take this into consideration, but the Rueben was just simply....lacking a bit, a bit in saucieness, sourkrout, flavor, texture. It just was what it was. Service was a bit lack luster. Food was dropped off at table with "no" silverware, and few other oversights that I won't get into. MY ex ordered mac n cheese with ribe tips or ends? It came to the table "cold." Just had lunch here. Nice outdoor seating area and great indoor vibe. I had the Taco Salad and the squeeze had the Greek Salad with smoked Turkey. My taco salad was actually burnt ends on lettuce with homemade deep fried chips. The meat was sooooo tender and flavorful. The Greek salad was excellent with a generous amount of meat. They had about 8 beers on tap. We had the Salt Lake IPA. Great malty flavor. The server, Abbey, did an excellent job. Try this place out!! read more

The service was stupendous!! My friends and I had a wonderful time. The food was underwhelming, though Im sure it's dependent on what you order. I ordered the Turkey and Cream Cheese sandwich and it was bland, of course not the worst thing food can be. Friends of mine got The chicken pesto flatbread and really enjoyed it, and another friend got the BBQ mac n cheese and was also underwhelmed. Seriously though, no joke, the service was on point. We visited the Monarch on 02/11/26 at the recommendation of our hotel concierge. We arrived at 9pm, seated ourselves and greeted by a very pleasant waitress. We ordered a French dip and a Cuban sandwich. The French fries were cold, the French dip waa flavorless. I asked for horseradish to add some flavor. My friend was about half way done with his sandwich when he bit into a hairball. There were several strands of LONG hair in his sandwich. The waitress came by and asked how our meal was and we told her about the hair. She went and got the manager who never apologized, but offered another sandwich to my friend. Who wants to eat after that? When I went to bed a couple hours after eating, I didnt feel good. I was awake most of the night with an upset stomach. At 4am I threw up my French dip. Definitely was something bad about that sandwich too. Unfortunately that will be the last time we will eat here. Beware when you bite into your sandwich! But the waitress is very nice! read more

Really enjoyed my visit to The Monarch last month. First of all, it's got a cool retro type vibe, without being overdone. There was plenty of free parking and the place was easy to find. My bartender, Makalya, took great care of me and made a delicious old fashioned. A friend had recommended the Wilber sammy made with smoked ham, bacon, cream cheese and swiss cheese dressed with jalapeno jelly. Anything with jalapeno always gives me pause as I'm such a spice weenie, but it was perfect. And flavorful. I also enjoyed 1/2 a Greek salad loaded with smoked chicken, tomato, onions, cucumbers, feta, Greek olives and artichokes. Not long after my food arrived I got some bad news from back home in Kansas City and needed to get on the road asap. I always travel with an insulated cooler in my vehicle so I asked Makalya if she could put some ice in a plastic bag for me to keep my food safe for the next few hours during my trip home. She could not have been more pleasant. If you're in Wichita, I recommend checking this place out. Both locals and visitors to Wichita will be made to feel welcome and enjoy some great food and drinks. read more
