The gravy was like a punch in the face, but in a good way. Packed with flavor I had never experienced. The fried chicken was SEASONED like your Southern Grandma made it (if I had a southern grandma), the waffle was crisp yet soft and fluffy with a delightful sweetness that was not over powering. The owner was so nice, giving us coffee on the house. This food was like a hug. The restaurant felt like going home. The food was FRESH to order and didn't take a ridiculous time to come out. We drove 25 minutes to get here and it was worth the drive. This isn't just a restaurant, it's a family, a family that's welcomed you in with love in the form of food. I wish I had taken photos of what we had but gosh darn it if we weren't floating on cloud nine from the flavors.

Amazing breakfast with great flavor, generous portions, and a reasonable price. I found this spot…read moreon DoorDash and decided to give it a try--I'm so glad I did! I ordered the chopped salmon with onions and peppers, scrambled eggs, and grits. Everything was cooked perfectly. The eggs were fluffy, the grits were seasoned so well I didn't even need to add salt, and the chopped salmon reminded me of delicious salmon croquettes. Even the sauce and honey biscuit were outstanding. I enjoyed every bite and would absolutely order again. 10/10--I'm genuinely impressed!

The host said it was to celebrate the spring season since they did a apres ski theme during the winter. So festive. Okay so boom, we came here on a whim since we were going to a concert in the area later that evening. Surprisingly it wasn't busy for a Saturday which I expected it to be. Unfortunately though they had upcoming reservations so we weren't able to sit in the main room. We sat in their second dining room which was off to the side but still decorated. Our service was still good and the waiter was very attentive. For apps, we got the She Crab soup. I would've preferred for the crab meat to be sprinkled on top vs. in the soup but nonetheless it was still delicious. Super fresh!! Omg. I even contemplated on switching my entree to the stuffed grouper to get some more crab meat. I ended up getting the Shrimp scampi which was a great choice. And let me tell you, they did not disappoint with the shrimp. 6 jumbo pieces. Omg. The entree was done pretty well and it was just the right portion size. If we had more time, I would've ordered their toffee bread pudding or the honey crème brulee but that's all the more reason to come back. Oh and order the It was all a dream cocktail. It tastes like vanilla. Done to perfection.

The World's Best BLT in a Lonely Gas Station Corner…read more Tucked into the dim corner of a run-down gas station off Highway 14 is The Griddle Stop, a place so unassuming you'd drive past it a hundred times without a second thought. Dusty windows, flickering neon, and a gas pump that hasn't worked since the Clinton administration. But behind a creaky door and a scratched-up counter sits the holy grail of sandwiches: the world's best BLT. Served on thick, toasted sourdough that crackles just right under your bite, the bacon comes in unapologetically fat slabs -- smoky, crisp, and curled like it has a story to tell. The lettuce? Iceberg, shredded fresh and cold like it was pulled straight from a mountain stream. The tomatoes are impossibly red, juicy, and somehow always in season, kissed with just enough salt to make your lips tingle. And the mayo -- homemade, garlicky, and spread edge to edge -- binds the whole miracle together. There's no music playing, no Instagram signage, and the cook, a retired Marine named Earl, only grunts when you compliment his food. But when that sandwich hits your table (a wobbly Formica top near the vending machine), the world slows down. You forget you're alone. You forget the gas station smell. You forget everything but the next bite. Five stars. No frills. No fuss. Just the kind of meal that makes you question every fancy sandwich you've ever overpaid for. Earl doesn't serve happiness, but he'll sure as hell give you the sandwich that feels like it.
